Came in for an oil change. My brother and I usually come to this location to service our cars. You have the option to either wait inside or sit in your car while it gets done and depending on how busy it is, that's how I decide. I was the only one there so I just stayed in my car. It's usually pretty fast so it's convenient for me to be able to just sit in the car while it gets done. The techs are really nice and explain what is being done as they go. I get the same service done every time so they go off of my license plate when I pull up and just ask me if that is ok and have me sign and date the form and proceed with the oil change. Before they're finished they let me know everything they have completed and if anything needs to be looked at or if I need to monitor anything for the next time. My rear right tire was low on pressure so they added air and made sure I was made aware to keep a look out for that in case that was something I may need to replace. Pricing is pretty comparable to other places so that's a plus. You pay and the receipt along with breakdown is provided and you're on your way. I always ask them to turn off my service light cause my car is fairly old and it doesn't come off automatically. The guys are nice and do it and give me my next service sticker and I'm off. I had oil changed here on 1/12/22. 3-4 months later my engine light came on. After putting it on Fixed, the code came back about a emissions evap pvc solenoid. I was told to change gas cap and drive car about 50-70 miles. Engine light came back on. Took it to AutoZone, diagnostics gave same code. Ordered PVC valve tubing and replaced it. Drove another 50 miles but car was not getting any power and jerking down etc. Parked car went to AutoZone and they said to order PVC emissions valve solenoid. My car would not pass Smog before this. They checked and found that I had 6+ qts of oil in my car, 1 qt. Over. That had gotten into the solenoid, PVC valve. I had Oil changers document this and.i am going to station Mgr. For complaint and reimbursement This place does not know what they are doing and will screw up your car read more

Not impressed at all and will not be returning. I went to their website to double check the address and noticed it said I could call for an appointment. I was pretty sure that wasn't necessary for an oil change and tire rotation but called just be sure. I told the employee who answered the phone why I was coming and he confirmed it was first come; first serve as I had thought. Great. Fifteen minutes later I pulled in and was their only customer at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. Fantastic! But then they tell me they will have to schedule me for a future appointment because they are out of oil! Out of oil!! How does that happen?? I came in for an oil change and the folks here were all so helpful. I know very little about cars and as a result, really don't like going to get anything done on my car because I always feel pressured into spending more money or getting something else done. This place asked me what I want, performed the service, and didn't try to sell me anything else. They were really nice and quick as well! When I said I wanted my transmission fluid done, they checked it and showed me that it wasn't needed. I don't know anywhere else that is that honest. Went in for an oil change because I use only CASTROL in all my vehicles. The professional staff at CASTROL Express were simply AMAZING. I haven't had this kind of attention and service for the last 30 years !!! Not only did they discover a bubble on one of my Brand New tires !!! The technicians were willing to change the wheel out to my spare so I could get back to the tire shop and have my original tire replaced. All free of charge. My car had an oil change here today, the same place I've been going for 5 years. Well today the manager tried to up sell me no doubt because I'm a woman. He first wanted to drain and refill my transmission fluid when I told him I did that last time he tried to tell me he meant the radiator this time and in addition he said my spark plugs were smoking and they all needed to be replaced. While this was going on I texted my personal mechanic who told me everything Jorge was saying was a lie ! I confronted the manager Jorge about this and he instantly got defensive and told me I was crazy and a Trump supporter. WTF! I'm not a Trump supporter lol , I'm just a woman who wants to be treated with respect and charged the correct price. Really, I was floored. I got shaken up a bit and started to cry but then decided screw that!! I accused him of trying to take advantage of a woman. He wanted me gone and would not give me his name. When I said I would not leave without his name he finally gave it to me. Several of the young men who work there apologized to me and said that is how he is and to please contact corporate. my wife took our Chrysler 300 in for an oil change about 6 to 8 month ago. The guys working in the shop are great ! Bery respectful, easy to talk to, and did fast friendly work. However, during the oil change, our cars oil filter housing was damaged and when the car was running, it was pouring oil out of the engine. The guys admitted to the damage and I told them that instead of putting the car in the shop to be repaired, I would do the repair myself and only charge them for the part and not the labor. so after buying and replacing the part I have tried contacting the owner numerous times. at least 15 to 20 times. I can not even get a call back from this guy concerning the damages his store caused on my vehicle. I believe it is time to take this to the next level. I've been a patron of this location for years, they have always given me great service, but today they tried to rip me off. I usually pay $60 for full synthetic on my Turbo S Beetle. They wanted to charge me nearly double. The attendant who approached my car didn't know what I was driving, thinking it was a diesel. I noticed right away something was off when the guy approached my window without his tablet, and clipboard with the listed service levels and prices. That way one can choose their services at a quick glance. They always ask if I've been there before, and once I confirm they would look up my service history using my license plate, and ask If I want the same as last time. But not this time. The guy walks up, and right away says it'll be about $100, with full synthetic, and that I will need an extra quart so it'll run $115. Last visit had my oil pan drain stripped manager on the site said they had to replace the drain plug and everything was good and nothing to worry about, well 2 months later I feel my engine shaking so I check my oil level which was bone dry and I checked the oil drain plug after refilling it and it was freely spinning. You can't complain about the up-sells at an oil change place, right? I love to hear about the solutions not just the problems, right? It's called preventative maintenance for a reason. Now, I usually like to do most minor maintenance myself, but, believe me, the convenience of having it all done properly is worth it. So, I got my wipers and battery replaced while I waited writing this review, chatted about various Apple products, and reviewed various NDAs and such for work on their free WiFi hotspot. There's even a nice balcony to step out on to take a phone call. Nice view of the El Sobrante hills, but the cars on SPD road could be a little noisy for an important work call. I'm completely turned off by bring my vehicle here. I simply ask about a price of a service and the lady seemed annoyed. When I ask her (kindly) to repeat the price of the first option, being that she wasn't annunciating her words clearly, she repeats herself in an annoying tone, immediately tells me to have a good day and hangs the phone up. I usually go right when they open in the morning to beat the rush. Went there today a little before 1pm on a Wednesday and was taken right away and out in about twenty minutes. Found this place through yelp. I called ahead to see what the wait time was, and the guy was nice enough to tell me the minimum and maximum times (depending on which service I wanted). That seems like a silly thing to mention but it always sucks when you go in thinking you'll be done in 20 minutes, then end up somewhere for an hour because that time estimate was for the simplest service. Anyways, they were done faster than I expected, plus the service I picked (2nd cheapest) included them doing a quick window wash and vacuum. Nothing spiffy, but 100 times better than what my car looked like after my 400 mile drive. The waiting area is clean, spacious, and has free water/coffee and cookies, in addition to a nice sized TV and an outdoor area to wait outside or make phone calls. Great service, and a great deal. Since the change of staffing, the service quality has deteriated. i came in for a full service oul change. I asked for the tire pressure to be checked since the low pressure light was on. They confirmed at payment that all tires were at the correct pressure( 36psi). I thought that after driving that the light would turn off. And i was surprised at the price, way too much for an oil change ( synthetic oil) plus one extra quart. The next day, i stopped by tire shop, had the pressure checked, both rear tires were low, and were filled to correct pressure. I will not be returning to Castro, they have lost a valued customer ( at least 7 years), and multiple vehicles. I will be contacting BAR to lodge a complaint. read more

Worst place to get a oil change ever..wouldnt go there unless you want your car to blow up. Husband went there twice for old changes. First change good no issues went back and they didn't screw on bolt right and after two week of driving it fell out. Burned up engine and now we are car less. Car is only 6 years old. Had car towed to shop which told us what happened. Contacted the manager here and he said they weren't at fault for this. But processed to offer to buy car as is. Since he as a mechanic and could fix it. Thought it was weird this happened and took further action. After reading other reviews on here with other issues of people it makes me wonder what kind of business this is. We shall find out sooner then later but I wouldn't take my car near this place ever unless you want a new car and the manager to offer to buy your "broken" car from you so he can turn a dollar. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! They mess up your car, scam you on the services, and have the worst customer service ever. I had my oil changed three days ago. My car has been dripping oil into my driveway since. I HAVE A PICTURE of the oil all over my driveway. I went back to have them fix it, and they literally opened up the hood, looked at it for three seconds, and then said, "There's no leak." They didn't check anything, change anything, loosen any bolts, look for cracks in the filter - NOTHING. Now I have to waste a half day, taking my car to the regular mechanic, to find out where this place messed it up. I addition, I paid for the "signature service." This was supposed to include a list of things - and I have no idea what they actually did. I know for a FACT that they didn't check the lights, or the wiper blades - I was sitting there in the car, and they DID NOT DO those things. I have no idea whether they even bothered to do any of the other things on the list. The supervisor, Lawrence, refused to admit any fault or deficit, and would not even speak to me after Jorge (who was rude) looked under my hood for three seconds and declared that there was no problem.
