I am absolutely devastated and furious. Cat and Cow Veterinary Clinic took the life of my dog, Juneau -- a perfectly healthy, vibrant 1-year and 9-month-old Yorkie -- during what was supposed to be a routine spay and baby tooth removal. There was nothing wrong with her. She rode with me every day, full of life and joy. This clinic's negligence cost me my best friend. No sincere explanation. No accountability. Had been customers for a couple of years. My wife and I went to have our suffering 16 year old dog put down. We walked in and were made to wait for 30 minutes while the receptionist sat in idle conversation on the phone, as our poor girl began barking and weezing in agony and peeing all over my wife. Finally when the receptionist decided to end her chit chat, she asked if we had weighed our dog. I explained why we were there and she cut me off and said in a curt tone, "we have to get a weight on her by policy!". My wife and I both in tears were in shock! I told them how unbelievably unprofessional they were as my wife laid my suffering dog down on the scale. My dog cried out in pain. I had to walk out. I hope knowing the weight of our suffering girl was more important than the wait caused by the receptionist insufferable pointless phone conversation! No longer a customer! read more

I visited cat and cow today because my dog is very sick and she needs to be put down. When I tried to move her into the car she's had a lot of pain and she nipped my hand. When I went into this place they were the least empathetic people that I have ever met in my life. They told me that my 12-year-old literal dying dog that I was there to have put down would need to be quarantine for 15 days even though she can't stand eat drink go to the bathroom and hardly breathe .. all bcuz she nipped me. 15 days they wanna lock up a dog who is right now dying n in pain rather than put her down. please make it make sense. I can understand if this was an aggressive dog, but this dog is literally dying and in pain and they refused to help me and they were condescending and rude and I would not send my worst enemy there. I had a cat being brought in to get spayed. The older woman at the desk said that I needed to bring record of the cat having rabies. And I told them the cat just got the rabies shot. The older woman said, "without proof, we have to give the cat another rabies shot." Like okay? Then, After I left, I received a call from them saying that my cat was actually a boy and that I would need to reschedule for the cat to get fixed. When I brought him back in to get fixed, they gave him ANOTHER rabies shot. So he had three total. totally stupid. Then, my chihuahua (11F) started seizing a lot and couldn't respond to commands, eat or drink. I brought her in to get put to sleep. A giant bald guy, who I'm assuming got fired, told me I need to get her brain surgery. I told him "I can't afford that!" He replied, "Well can't your parents help? Or do you have a husband you could call?" I walked out after that. I found Oak tree animal clinic and would 100% recommend them over this crappy place. read more

Without a doubt, these people take all the worry and stress out of getting your pets looked at and/or boarded. My husband and I were behind on shots and needed to get our dogs boarded on short notice so we could check on places to move---Cat and Cow was SO accommodating and kind! They answered all of our questions, offered to let us take a look around before we made an appointment, and were polite and friendly through the whole experience! Even when a customer came in with a bad attitude, they were polite and friendly and treated her pet just as wonderfully as if she'd paid a lot of money to be there. That's another good thing about Cat and Cow---cost. These folks are easily the cheapest, yet best quality, that we've seen thus far! Their costs are VERY reasonable, they even include a bath for boarded pets, and staff are completely unfazed by big dogs! I ADORE this place, and their farm! Best clinic I've found for my dog! I bring her for all of her needs from getting her nails trimmed to surgery, boarding and grooming and we drive from Bartlett! You'd wait all day to see your own doctor so what if you wait an hour to see your pets doctor, they are worth it! The staff is so very kind and it doesn't smell like a veterinarian clinic at all. It doesn't matter if you have appointment or not, the waiting time is ridiculously long. Why are we required to make appointment and they can't keep up the schedule? They said because of walk-in pets. I understand and sympathize with the emergency case for pets. But an appointment was an hour or more late is unacceptable. So my dog got hit by the school bus, so we took her to a Cat & Cow and they were very sweet people! Sadly my dog had been hit pretty badly so we had to amputate her back leg. They did an amazing job and within 2 months she was up and running faster than ever! We don't say she's a three legged dog we say she's a four legged dog but one of them is invisible haha read more

This is the best vet clinic I have been to. I live in Midtown, so the drive can take a toll, but the price and care is worth it. The cost for both my dog and cat to receive ALL of their shots is less than $120- one bill. To further emphasize this, I ask for them to give my pets every shot they require for the year with no picking and choosing. In addition, because the drive can be a hassle, I ordered my dog's flea medication from 1-800-PETMEDS this year; instead, the office staff called me to explain that Dr. Allen would match their price. Looks like I'm driving to the OB! This clinic is wonderful with my animals and my schedule, taking all walk-ins, even on a Saturday. I have been going to them for three years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else, despite how much closer four vet clinics are within a mile radius to my house. We've used Cat & Cow since our Weimaraner was a pup. They are always friendly and can usually work us in if needed. Many times we forget to schedule appointments due to our work schedules, but never have a problem getting either of our dogs in and out. From emergency visits to annual visits they are always quick and thorough; it is also known that they genuinely care about each and every animal that steps paws into the door. If you have questions, just ask and if you forget just give them a call! They also got our approval for the adoption of our second dog completed as soon as I gave the shelter their number. The last 3 times we had an appointment for our elder dog that has a hard time walking & for his normal shots. Each time we waited 2 to 3 hours from our arrival time. We waited over a week for this appointment only to watch our fur baby getting worse day by day. Pulled up in the parking lot to notice all the cars as the times before & no where to park. Another customer told us they had been there since 2 and our appointment was @ 4. They went in and came back to tell us the wait time would be 1 1/2 hour to 2 hours. We left & I called to cancel only to be put on hold over 10 minutes. Our time is worth something along with the rest of the customers & not to mention the anxiety that our fur baby was having. I Goggled another local vet and can be seen tomorrow with no waiting. I hope I like the new vet if not I will not return to Cat & Cow & will be seeking a new veterinary. read more

Danielle is the groomer here and I've used her for years!!!! I've followed her around like you do a hair stylist!!! She is the sweetest person and is so good with the animals!! She takes her time and does a fantastic job grooming. She has done my little PIPPA for years!!!!! She even grooms cats and I know there is not a lot of groomers who will groom and do it properly!!! I do not recommend going to this clinic ever. Like many of you, I had heard good stories that made me feel like these people really cared about our pets and weren't looking to make a quick dollar. My dog seemed to have a bladder infection and we made an appointment for her to go see one of the doctors. They were extremely busy, good for them, but we still had to wait quite some time before we could be seen. I tried to be understanding and didn't think twice about it because I believe most people were picking up their pets from being boarded. Once we were seen they could not retrieve a urine sample from her but said her symptoms sounded like a bladder infection and they gave her medication. (Note: I do not blame them for this, they could only work with what they had) My wife and I gave our Australian Shepherd the medication for about a week and still nothing seemed to help. We decided to go in on a Saturday to get her looked at again. This time we actually got some urine from her and brought it with us for them to run their tests on, they even said they might need to run an X-ray. When we got back to see the doctor they said it looked like a bladder infection (we were the last ones there at this point, again not critical of this, but to show my frustration) gave us meds and told us to call back if those meds didn't work, but they in fact did see some blood cells in the urine. Which is consistent with a bladder infection. Having looked back at this and knowing what I know now about my dogs condition, it seemed like they were pushing us out with a, "let's see if this one works and you can just come back if it doesn't" mentality. So we gave this medication to our dog for about a week and still nothing was really improving. Again, this is a Saturday and I called the clinic and informed the receptionist that the vet instructed me to call if things didn't seem to be working. She told me that they were busy, but he would give me a call. Well on Saturdays they close at 12 and I looked at the time and it was about 11 and I still haven't received a call. So I decided to call again and told them I understand they're busy and I just wanted to make sure they haven't forgotten about me. They said the call would probably come after they close and I told them that was fine. I never received a call. So Monday rolls around and I call and set an appointment with the Collierville Clinic, who we've been to before, and told them what was going on and made an appointment with them. Collierville, who I really do like but can be pretty expensive, calls me to inform me that there is A LOT of blood in my dogs urine as well as crystals that seem consistent with a bladder stone! Collierville informs me that they haven't seen this many crystals in a very long time and they need to run and X-ray. They run an X-ray and she has a bladder stone. Here is where my frustration really kicks in. I called Cat and Cow to get the name of one of the medications that they gave my dog and I politely tell the receptionist that if I sound rude, I don't mean to, but they told me they would call and they didn't. She said she noted where the doctor was supposed to call. She then she tells me the doctor and her apologize but he didn't know he was supposed to call me. Yes, you read that right, contradictory statements. My question is; how do you not see the blood or the plethora of crystals in my dog's urine? Follow up questions: If the patient calls telling you that neither medication is working, wouldn't that raise some red flags as to this could be something more serious than what was previously thought? Also, when you tell someone to call in and they do, why do you not call them back? To summarize for those who don't want to read all of this: Cat and Cow seemed to know how serious this situation could be, but because of time restraints pushes drugs onto my dog. Even after acknowledging that they might need to run an X-ray. After having received the correct diagnosis from Collierville, it seems that Cat and Cow, in reality, just didn't seem to care enough to make sure the job was done right the first time. So now I have a dog that is in extreme pain from trying to pass tiny pieces of glass through her urethra. She also has blood in her urine and a bladder stone, which if you've read your material, can be fatal to dogs. I would not go to Cat and Cow EVER AGAIN! They receive a lot of clients because of low prices and the atmosphere makes you feel like that care, but really they care about throwing quick medications at people to make them feel as though they are both quick and efficient. If they lose a pet or two that's fine because they have people that think the world of them; not from a proficient point of view, but from the view of their wallets. Which, sadly I succumbed to and it cost my dog her health. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE MAKING A GOOD DECISION BASED ON HEALTH INFORMATION AND NOT BECAUSE SOMETHING IS CHEAPER. This Vet has a monkey that they have had since 1999. They give it no shots and do not handle it. I found it a rescue habitat, after it bit me, and they told me his story. They told me they were thrilled and wanted to find it a home but, hadn't been able to. This is a lie. They have refused a free to them process to relocate this estranged monkey. I ( single-struggling mother)would pay for transport. Now, jungle Friends has told me other rescue organizations have been trying for years to save him. Cat and Cow refuses. Monkeys need their own kind like people, and room to live, interaction. They develop mental issues and breakdown. They say they love animals. They just poured a ton of money into their new expansion and live stock. Shame on them. They are no longer my veterinarians. We used Cat and Cow for years. Their people were great and the cost was very reasonable. Then the clinic changed hands. A while after that I found out on Facebook that they had lost someone's dog. It was allowed to wander away. I never heard if it was ever seen again. I wanted to know if whatever the problem was had been addressed but when I asked about it was basically told it was none of my business and that all vets lose animals. This place is pretty great. I've taken my Great Dane to multiple veterinary clinics throughout north MS, and this is the first clinic that I've been pleased with. As others have mentioned, whether it's checkups or emergency visits, Cat and Cow seems to have it all. Because my baby is so big, it's been extremely difficult to find a vet that is suitable for him - insufficient type of meds for his size, insufficient xray equipment, a scale that isn't big enough for him, super small checkup rooms, waiting area that is so small that there are no seats available and all of the dogs are practically sitting on top of each other....I have found that Cat and Cow has none of these issues! I've always been able to get a visit even at last minute. The vet techs are extremely friendly and helpful and I cannot say enough about the veterinarians themselves. Among bringing my dog in for other things, I took him in a few weeks ago and we discovered that he has severe heart issues. Dr. Hollis has been outstanding in helping him through this. We are still working on finding a solution to my baby's problem, but Dr. Hollis has been available and attentive throughout this entire process. The setting of the clinic is incredibly peaceful and has helped me relax when I was at the top of my stress level.
