Super fresh, great taste and aroma. The difference is like switching from ground to whole bean.

It was in the morning on a Saturday when I came so there was a bit of a line but not too long. After about five minutes, I got a chance to order. I opted for an iced mocha. I would've liked to try one of the yummy looking croissants they had available from Pinyon but the people in front of me got the last one! After a couple of minutes, my order came out. Once I swirled everything together, I thought there was a good balance of everything! The syrup, the coffee, and the milk. It was a nice pick me up for the hot day ahead. Overall, Prospect was a very cute, welcoming coffee shop experience!

Unfortunately I was unable to locate the WiFi password and I didn't want to bother the two employees that appeared to be pouring coffee with love. I had an iced coffee cold brew with almond milk. A cold coffee in a glass cup makes such a difference in how cold the drink gets and the presentation. The latte was amazing! Perfect temperature. I went for the chocolate croissant, it was amazing! Little hint of salt sent it over the top. Just wish there was a warming option

The main thing that stands out here is their 1987 coffee roaster which is the center piece of the cafe. They roast various single origin beans on a daily basis, so you know you can purchase some fresh coffee beans here. If you need your beans grounded, they do grind it for you depending on your brewing method. They have beans of light roast, medium roast and dark roast and sell by various weights for a very reasonable price. They also sell various tea leaves, baked goods (croissant, muffin, scones, bagel, Danish, coffee cake, Dessert Therapy cookies, and merchs. They also have a seasonable menu that changes. When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2. Matcha with Sakura Cold Foam (4/5) The matcha was blended smoothly and was not grassy at all. The Sakura cold foam didn't really taste like Sakura (been to Japan, so know what real Sakura flavor should taste like), but instead, just tasted floral. 3. Columbia Supremo Whole Beans Full body and aromatic. Good for those who like to drink black coffee 4. Guatemala Huehuetenango Whole Beans: Crisp, acidic and a hint of nuttiness Glad I found this local roaster where I'll definitely be coming back to get some more fresh beans.

Best whole beans in town!…read more Earlier this year, we treated ourselves to an espresso machine and have been enjoying freshly ground coffee every morning thanks to Mameya. We searched high and low for a local spot to get fresh whole beans. Our friends recommended Mameya. Even though they're about a 20 minute drive for us, they are so worth it. We call in our order ahead of time for pickup. By the time we get there, our beans are freshly roasted and ready to go. Every employee we've met so far has been so welcoming and kind. Superb customer service. It's a small shop and not too many seats to sit and hang out, but if you're serious about GOOD and fresh coffee beans, this is where to get it. After trying a few different roasts and beans, we have settled on a favorite: 16 oz Espresso Blend in City Roast. Mameya also provides coffee to Brio Brio Cafe in Lake Forest. One of these days, we want to swing in to grab a bag of their specialty beans to try. Mameya also can ship if you're not local.
