Awesome staff! Great selection! Yummy HOT pizza! Cute souvenirs. Island prices, but worth it having everything you need and more. A sparkling water $3 Can of soda $3 Charcuterie Board $25 Honestly, not bad given everything has to be shipped in. Great option for grown-up refreshments, electrolyte drinks and mixes, fresh fruit and veg, frozen meals, and dehydrated meals. The pizza was truly worth every penny! But be sure to check pizza/ice cream hours as those shut down before the store closes. I tried to get shots of current supplies, but as I we were in the middle of a heat wave I didn't want to open the freezer/fridge doors, so apologies for the reflections, hopefully it still is helpful. The souvenir section is truly unique, and this is the only spot we got gifts for family and friends. read more

Chances are, you've never visited the two harbors General store; and really, that's OK. If you've been to Catalina at all, you're more than likely visit in Avalon at the other end... There's plenty to do there, places to sleep, things to drink, and eat, sites to see. Seriously, this is probably all the Catalina you're ever going to need. But a few of us find ourselves down at two harbors, a quieter spot for the most part, access to several summer scout camps, more rural experience, perhaps. Still, the place is not without its charm, or civilities for that matter. The general store is part of a building complex that includes a restaurant and bar, a boat, engine, repair store, some storage places, and some of the municipal support services. Probably a few dive tanks and maybe a lobster net or two in there also. The general store has just about everything you would expect to find in a liquor store or 7-Eleven, along with some other basic foods and sundries. Garlic stuffed olives? Yes, they have them. Frozen Salisbury steak? More than likely! Six packs of beer? You betcha. But as the only game in town, here's the thing: you ain't getting out of here for 711 prices, Charlie. The markup is substantial... After all, if you wanted a pack of hotdogs, and a can of sauerkraut, then by gum, you should've brought it from the mainland, Chester! The kids at the counter are nice though, and they hardly wince when they tell you it's four dollars for a bottle of soda. And hey... You're going to pay it. Because it's Catalina. And you're probably on vacation. Or preparing for a 2 mile walk to Cherry Valley, where the only thing you're going to be drinking for a few days is small cartons of milk and orange juice. When push comes to shove, I have never not been glad that the general store is here., and has what I need. read more

I can honestly say that all 3 times I went into the store, I had the best customer service experience! Two Harbors General Store is doing something right!!!! The store is clean. They have all sorts of things (medicine, fresh fruits, souvenirs etc.)! Staff members were very friendly. We had ice cream and cold drinks after hours of hike, before our ferry comes back to pick us up back to Avalon. read more

I love this the little place! We've been camping a number of times on Catalina and the G-Store has always come through for me. From picking up a replacement item for something I left in the car to ice cream for the kids, it's great. It's expensive of course but everything here is expensive. I have always had great experiences with the people who work here. Always friendly and helpful and chatting with my children. Pro-tip: they make pizza if you ask at the counter and it's surprisingly good! They will also deliver an ice chest to your campsite for a fee so if you'd rather leave the cooler at home they've got your covered. read more

This general store is fully stocked with a multitude of needed essentials that is serviceable to every traveler. They have memorabilia, clothing, food (frozen and packaged), dehydrated food (in case you didn't bring enough), fresh fruits and veggies, and even a window outside that serves ice cream! I certainly took advantage of the first aid aisle for some foot problems after such rough terrain on the TCT as well as the fresh fruit. You're going to love that extra fiber especially after being on a dehydrated food diet. I saw the ice cream window outside when we first arrived in Two Harbors on Day 2 out on the TCT, so I knew it would become a perfect celebratory snack after finishing on Day 4. The sundae concoctions they had available were.... interesting, but too wild for my taste. They had quite a few flavors of ice cream, so I went with that. For $4, a single scoop of ice cream is MORE than enough. You definitely get A LOT of ice cream. Really, they make it a scoop plus a half. Toppings are also available at $0.50 each, if you do so desire. My Strawberry ice cream in a cup hit the spot. I relished it so, so much that I forgot to take a picture of it! XD Such a wonderful quick, cheap, and delightful snack while enjoying coastal views on the patio. read more

It is the one and only store in the area. It's like a big 7-11 with over prices souvenirs, and few camping necessities. Everything was marked up about 3-5x what you would pay off the island, so come prepared and only stop in for necessities. PROS: Great manager and staff - friendly and helpful Increasingly good grocery, toiletries and wine selection and better stocking than in past years Clean and well-kept Ice-cream! CONS: Crazy prices New added fee Almost all meat is sold frozen Some of the gift shop items are poor quality As a general rule, Island costs for goods/services run about 20% higher than the mainland since everything is brought in from the mainland. I think a lot of the merchandise in the general store runs about 50-100% higher once you include tax and the new "fee." You'll pay through the nose for some things. P.S. If you have a buffalo burger on Catalina, it's not locally produced (the natives are actually bison and live relatively cushy lives in predator-free peace.) Summer hours are longer than the rest of the year. Check the hours when you arrive so that you don't miss your opportunity to restock on ice, food or alcohol! Veteran Tips: 1) Fuel (butane, propane, MSR, etc.) is sold at the counter (ask the clerk for it.) 2) There's a Catalina Express gear haul (get bag tags from check-in office and drop your bags to the left of the check-in office.) If you make a beeline to the general store when you arrive, get your 2.5 gallon waters fast, tag them and send them on the gear haul if you want to avoid carrying them over the hill. The gear haul usually departs about 15-20 minutes after the passengers disembark. Get your water first, then go back and do the rest of your shopping. You can purchase charcoal and firewood at the store and send it on the gear haul, too, but it's easier just to order those at the office when you check in, and they'll deliver them to your campsite. Warning: if you need firewood or charcoal immediately, buy it at the store. Usually they're fast, but sometimes it can take a few hours for them to deliver wood/charcoal orders. If you're hungry and ready to cook, buy a little and take it with you, and have them deliver the rest. read more

Get the tuna melt! It's REAL tuna. Not canned tuna fish But that is for the kitchen. Not a whole lot to say about the General store. It kinda like a glorified gas station store? They do have ALOT of stuff and I've been able to find pretty much everything I've needed in a pinch. Overall, I would say this, if you NEED it they will have it. But you will pay out of your teeth for it. I can't blame them because not only do they have to get everything shipped to Catalina, but they've got you absolutely cornered. Just use it the way you should; as a last resort, not a planning tool and you will be happy. read more

This is the 2nd time this summer the store is out of block ice on a Friday morning. Its the first weekend in August, beginning of the ultrahigh season. I would think a prudent business would plan accordingly. There should be no excuses to not have an important item like block ice! read more

Well all I have to say is Avalon has nothing on the vibe in two harbors. The employees especially Grant and Robby if you can find them this season make this town as homey as can be. They went out of there way to help me find trails as I was hiking in the surrounding area, making sure I had the correct gear and food and all in all made my trip memorable. I had an amazing time on the island but the friendly staff made it that much better. read more

I just want to thank a million the girl at the ice cream window -my son fell nearby and got some scratches on his arm last Saturday. The ice cream girl went out of her way to help my son with band aids and treatment and then offered him an ice cream (she did not want me to pay for it). She went out of her way although it was very busy on Saturday. I love the people at two harbors, really cool vibe there. read more
