    Affogato

LOVED the affogato! The perfect espresso with vanilla ice cream. Located in the back of a candy shop it's crowded and fast paced. Make sure you know what you want before reaching the counter. Friendly staff, delicious treats, and decent prices.

Workers were fine, service was nothing special. The icecream was too sweet for me personally but the flavor was good, sweeter than most other icecream places so I couldn't even finish it.

Loved stumbling upon this retro candy store while wandering around Avalon. It's the kind of place that instantly pulls you in with classic sweets, ice-cream bar and that old-school candy-shop charm. Beyond the treats, they also have fun, nostalgic lunch boxes that make great souvenirs - playful and very on-theme for Catalina. It's an easy, joyful stop whether you're shopping for gifts or just indulging your sweet tooth. Perfect for a quick pop-in while strolling the main strip.

Lloyd's of Avalon. Such a yummy store.

Who doesn't love a candy store? Almost everyone loves going into a candy store. Few steps even before we walked into Lloyd's of Avalon, the sweet aroma of taffy, chocolate and fruits embrace you as you walk into the store. Our Girl Scout troop enjoyed visiting this sweet and fun candy store. The sweet young ladies working by the chocolate station were also giving our free samples of chocolate and slices of caramel covered apples. Lloyd's of Avalon pretty much offer a variety and selection of the different types of candies, gum and chocolates (brand and manufacturer too). They even carry some of the 80s and 90s candies our circle of friends grew up with. We all had a very nostalgic moment. Lloyd's of Avalon is a one stop shop for sweet treats that provide great customer service as well as a trip down memory lane of how fun and priceless your childhood was.

We got ice cream and tried the candy apples! It's packed so you can feel a bit rushed, but workers are very kind and helpful even though they have a long line! The candy apple was delish & they cut it for you! I'm going to take some home to go for sure!!! The aesthetic inside is rly cute!

Proof that adulting pauses in a candy / ice cream store! The sugary sweets will bring back childhood memories & the ice cream will cool you off on a hot summer day. The staff is ready with suggestions to help with your sweet tooth

100/10! Candy store, caramel apples, smoothies, and ice cream!! Better than scoops!!! Fast service!!! And more affordable ice cream than scoops! What are you waiting for? They accept Apple Pay, cash and credit.

You can smell the sugar blocks away. Candy Apple was delicious!

You can smell the sugar a block away. My wife and I were having a great day at Catalina and were walking around when we smelled the delicious sugary experience that is Lloyd's of Avalon. My wife and I decided to share a candy apple and it was very good. The cashier asked if we wanted it cut, which we did, and she was very friendly. Lots of options here but I had to get out before my doctor pinged me! :(

So I've been to Catalina Island a few times and have never been inside until this visit. This place has just about everything sweet related. I was pleasantly surprised at the items that they sell. Ice cream, toffee, rice Krispy treats, etc. I really enjoyed the huge pretzel and chocolate rice Krispy treat so delicious. The frozen mocha coffee drink was good and gave me energy. The service was friendly and helpful which I will definitely return when I next visit Catalina Island.

Peanut Caramel Apple and an Iced White Mocha, a most perfect refreshment!

I had done some research for the must dos and must tries on Catalina Island, and it seems that Lloyd's is a fan favorite. After perusing Avalon, making my souvenir purchases and sight seeing, I needed a refreshment and pronto. That is when I saw 2 ladies walking with 2 Lloyd's iced coffees and I knew I was headed in the right direction. Lloyd's is the ultimate confectionary shop. They have candy, fudge, ice cream, candy apples, and a variety of beverages. My selection was a peanut caramel apple and an iced white mocha ($16.94). They had super cool flavored candy apples but I'm not about that life lol. I selected my apple and she asked if I would like my apple sliced, "yes, please!". I then walked over to the pick up window for my drink and the barista asked me to try the drink on spot, and asked if I wanted any adjustments. My drink was absolutely perfect, I thanked her and gave her a thumbs up. The service at Lloyd's despite the line, was not only quick and efficient but they also take the time to be nice and provide a great experience. Yummy treats and great service? I can't wait to be back to try all their other goodies!

Cute candy store! We got three different kinds of gummies cause there was so much to choose from. I thought the gummies were a bit hard to chew but we still ate them. I loved all the decor they had. My pictures do not do the store justice, if you travel to Catalina Island, you must stop by this candy shop!

    Death by chocolate
    Maddy A.

Icecream was so good I had to come two days in a row. I ordered the death my chocolate icecream and my boyfriend ordered the mango sorbet. Both were really good. On Thursday, we watched them making their own waffle cones fresh in-store, and you can definitely taste the difference. The cones are warm, crisp, and way better than your average shop-bought ones. The only downside is that they don't offer flavor samples, which made it a little tough to decide what to get especially with so many tempting options. Saw some complaints in the reviews about their customer service but I thought everyone here was super nice and helpful. Overall this place was a 5/5 and I will come back each time I am back in Catalina.

Asked a local about where to find such a place, he immediately mentioned Jack's, which I followed up on. At a place like this, you sit at the counter, no questions asked, and I wonder why they even have another option. For the rookies, I guess. Only drawback was that they don't have water. Bottled water, sure, but no tap water. It's an island, I get it, but everywhere else has water offered. And, for what came to a $30 breakfast (without a drink), yeah, water might be a nice token. Regardless, glad I came, but in a city as unique as Avalon, I'll continue to diversify my breakfast options next time...

I will say they did include a good number of clams but the entire dish lacked flavor. They could have used a quality butter for the noodles. My wife had noticed the Sailor's Delight shop earlier in the morning, so we decided to stop in. It was really, really good. My family lived in Wisconsin for more than 20 years, most of them in the Madison area. During that time we got to really love a local favorite ice cream brand: Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. It's definitely a premium brand and thought it was local to the Midwest only. Well...once we entered Sailor's Delight, signs proudly proclaimed that they served Chocolate Shoppe, shipped directly from the plant in Madison. This made my wife immediately look for her favorite flavor: Zanzibar. It's a chocolate ice cream, blending 3 types of cocoa, to produce a very rich but bingeable ice cream. One scoop was priced at $7.50 in a cup, with each additional scoop being $2.25. So I added one of my favorite flavors, mint chocolate chip, to pay for a two scooper. And in Wisconsin tradition, one scoop really means two...our attendant took a regular size ice cream scoop and plunged it in each container to grab two scoops of each. We ate it outside. The ice cream was as good as I remember, and alternating between mint chocolate chip and the Zanzibar was marvelous. We sat down on the edge of the fountain right outside, doing a little people watching while enjoying the weather. It makes me smile thinking about it. I was curious if there were other places around where we live that serves Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, and OMG Burgers and More seems to do so. Guess where I am going, the next chance I get...
