I've been coming to this location since it opened last year and enjoy that it is spacious, has lots of equipment, and offers many classes. There's also great amenities such as a cardio theatre, smoothie bar, and hydro-massage chairs to name a few. I only come to this location for classes and the hydro-massage chairs, so I can't comment too much on anything else. However the class instructors are extremely professional while fun, and will lead you through a great workout! That hydro-massage chairs are a great perk to membership and great way to relax for 10 minutes before heading out. I'm impressed with the safety measures they've implemented since COVID. On each visit they take temperatures upon entry and ask if you're experiencing any COVID symptoms. I've also seen employees cleaning the locker rooms more frequently than before. Additionally, they added lines to the floor in the class rooms to reduce capacity, and I personally love the extra space. I'd recommend this location if you enjoy taking classes, they offer a good variety at different times of the day. read more

For being a "premier" gym this place is pretty pathetic. There has been the same trash (shaving razor, bottles of liquid, etc) littering the parking lot for months yet there are always 4-5 employees at the front desk doing seemingly nothing. I have also had multiple times where I (a female) have been made uncomfortable in the locker room with undisclosed male workers. Since May 2025, I've called upwards of ten times to speak with Jen Trees regarding both my membership and my wife's. Despite repeated attempts, I've received no response from Jen or anyone in leadership. Five months later, we are still being charged for memberships we no longer use or agreed to maintain. It's disappointing to see how much Catalyst has changed. The focus has shifted from supporting members' health and wellness to prioritizing profit margins and retention numbers. These people are dishonest and have no honor, none of them, especially the executive leadership. The staff is too busy on their cell phones or looking in the mirrors to be bothered answering questions. We came to Catalyst to workout as a family with our 14 year old daughter. Catalyst now tells us that she can't be our guest b/c other's are abusing the policy. So our membership doesn't count? And now they're giving us the run-around in cancelling our membership. They can take our money in the club when signing up, but somehow can't cancel the membership in the club, sending us into the black hole of their email. I've been a member of Catalyst for several years. The gym is generally clean and equipment updated, but the men's bathroom is constantly in need of cleaning. The subject of this review is the very poor customer service experience. My keycard was denied, and then Darnell at the front desk started into a speech about how I'm paying $26.99 for multi-use locations and how I needed to upgrade to $29.99 or drop down to one-location for $19.99. I said, fine, downgrade me to this Maple Rd location. He said, "that doesn't apply to this location." Then he preceded to tell me that my link to the Visa card will now incur an additional $3/MONTH fee. I asked him about whether I was currently paying that and we went round and round over the definition of "current." Finally I agreed, but didn't have my bank info to avoid the $3/month fee. I asked if I could still work out and he said "no, you cannot work out without signing a new contract." Since I was concerned about 6 pages of fine print and possible penalty clauses I left. They went up 20% on their membership. That's outrageous!! Not happy. Yes it's a nice club but why are we paying for the Colvin location. In all my gym experiences I have never seen such a huge increase. Secondly why can't you have guys clean the locker rooms. As promised, my brutally truthful and respectful review of Catalyst fitness(Meyer rd) So they kicked me out last week due to my questions to Lily(trainer) saying I interrupt too much. Then, receiving this letter today saying I was revoked for inappropriate behavior toward women. Pick a story liars, prior to COVID when Nicolette, Taylor and Kirstin were working I had rivers flowing in the gym. Due to my writing(poetry) anyways interruption, they told me last week. Wrong, because I have my first Amendments Unlimited speech, including my memoranda rights stated under the model Supreme Court of law. Inappropriate behavior is their cover story(lie) to falsely make accusations against me. This is a very large fitness center with plenty of exercise equipment and open floor. The employees are not friendly. Amenities include a small, dark movie theater very poorly maintained with an ancient video and sound system and a tired collection of old movies. There is a second level of treadmills and ellipticals, but the number of broken machines grows every month. The sorta good news is that those machines face a bank of 13 flat screen TVs. Unfortunately, only 5 are turned on and one of those 5 has a defective screen. As for the culture of this center...far too many users will work for a few minutes on an apparatus and then text on their phones for longer without leaving the apparatus; additionally, most of the same people don't wipe down the equipment after use. They have a new entry system. I tried to use the gate on the left, prompting the guy at the desk to angrily yell that it was an exit only gate, although it has a bright GREEN ARROW signifying that it is an entrance. Apparently that guy isn't bright enough to write "EXIT ONLY" on a piece of paper and tape it over the arrow. read more

Honestly I just joined this gym and in the few months I have been a member. I have got nothing but flack and disrespect from staff. My first personal training appointment, I called early to see if I could move it and told I'd be charged so I showed up. My trainer didn't completely. Like no call no showed and no one had an explanation. After this I was not impressed and wanted a refund on my personal training I was not refunded the full amount! Catalyst maple is the just the best gym ever! The facility has so much to offer and the cost is very reasonable . They have the best equipment and have so many great classes! My trainer, Ellen , is beyond amazing and she's so so dedicated ! You couldn't ask for a better trainer . i highly recommend this gym ! it's just the best ! read more

Really nice new gym. They have went all out on this place. I used to go to the wherle one which I thought was pretty nice but this one blows everything out of the water. Only problem is that this place can get crowded at peak times, and when I say crowded I mean super crowded. Also a lot of professional looking people here which I mean if you don't like that or are intimidated that could be an issue. Catalyst isn't super pushy with additional memberships and such as other gyms are. Honestly I don't know how they keep the membership the same price for this one as the other ones. Don't do it. I Was excited to join this gym online and go in on my first day. Upon walking in there were three girls (workers)standing around the desk with drinking their drinks and on their Phone. I came in and asked for a quick tour and the girl literally stood in one spot and pointed and said "well there are the weights there are the ellipticals in the locker room is over there" I said OK can somebody please show me how to work the elliptical? And she had no idea at all. So she stormed off. And when I went up to the desk again to ask if somebody would help me with the elliptical because it was not working right, the three girls just kind of snapped at me and then some guy was trying to help me but he didn't even know how to use it as well. I have been a member of catalyst since they took over Best Fitness and was, at first impressed, but now, I have been shopping memberships elsewhere. Crowded gym and front desk staff seems to not care. Good luck trying to get a somewhat structured workout accomplished. No matter what time the gym is full of people who sit on the equipment for a while. You will never get a squat rack in the afternoon. If you're okay with bouncing around to whatever is open then it's okay. The locker room always seems to have a naked man just sitting there. Front desk doesn't take job serious at all either. Heard it from others and personal experience that Issues are never something they can solve and need someone else to help out. If i could give 0 stars I would. The maple location is AWFUL! minus Graham, he needs to transfer to Elmwood. Their maple rd "manager" Kaitlin/Kaylene something like that, has never been trained in customer service a day in her life. NEWS FLASH - you don't yell at clients, don't cut them off mid sentence, and if your staff who you trained messes up, you honor their mess up. yes covid is tough on ALL businesses, but how do you not know how to be nice, civil, kind or honor your staffs word. So I bought a day pass to the new Catalyst gym on Maple to try it out. The day pass was $10 and the worker stated that If I were to join I could use the $10 towards the membership I purchase. I decided to join the new Catalyst on Maple soon after. The owner (who was loud and pushy, which I get being that just opened a $7 million dollar gym) talked up the premier package which was $29.99 with no sign up fee at the time. She raved how with the premier package you can bring a guest at any time & take unlimited classes. I decided to go with the premier package being that my sister could go with me sometimes. I handed my $10 receipt to the worker to put towards my membership and she stated that it wouldn't work on the primer package because there is no sign up fee. After the fast, quick, unorganized sign up; I left. I noticed on my receipt I was charged $1 for an enrollment fee. I was annoyed but figured I wouldn't say anything. So then my best friend went to sign up for the premier package and asked about the $10 receipt from the day pass. The worker gave my best friend a free month. She was also charged a $1 enrollment fee. Yesterday I went to Catalyst and brought my sister, who would be my guest. The owner advised me that they have changed the policy and now guest are only allowed to come Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays (). She said that we could go to any other location and bring a guest any day of the week but not the Catalyst on Maple. Hence, I signed up because of the convenience location and I wouldn't have went with the premier package if I knew the policy was changing from less than a month of signing up. There has been no warning or notice of this change. I went on to ask how much a day pass was, $20!!!! In my opinion this place needs to get organized and is ripping people off. I will never go back to Catalyst. Oh one more thing, the gym has been open for maybe two months and the amount of cardio that is out of order is ridiculous.
