The service is top notch first of all, let that be known, my issue is with the FLAVOR.. literally bland! Garlic fries were a no for me. Fries were fresh and crisp but the minced garlic they use was just not it. The literally just throw It on top without tossing the fries consistently The breading was very light on the fish but had no real taste ! Fish was fresh ! There were 4 of us. We were seated promptly, our friends were there ahead of us. We ordered our drinks, appetizer were already ordered. We then placed our order for dinner. 3 of our orders came together, but the 4th dinner, we were told, would be at least 10 minutes later. This is unacceptable on any setting. We said the 4th dinner order was canceled. The waitress smiled and said ok. No apology, just a shrug and ok. She did run to tell the cook. So he wouldn't start the order! Needless to say, we won't be back. Just want to add, one of the orders was a the same as another order in our party only in large portion. But the good news is many of the orders to go seemed to have no problem being filled. I guess those who come in are the ones who get the poor service. read more

Like many other Hollister residents, I wanted to try this new restaurant. I was there on a Wednesday about 5:30, and they were already starting a waiting list. I was ordering food to go, so while waiting for my order, I had some time to watch the goings on in the restaurant. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, although they were friendly and as efficient as possible considering the rush. I would chalk this up to being a new restaurant and perhaps new employees. I ordered the fish tacos, and they were big. I had my choice of fried or grilled, which I really appreciated. They were a little heavy on the sauce for my tastes. Still, the flavor was good, and I would try them again. My dining partner is not a seafood fan, so he ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. He said the chicken was very tender, and overall, the sandwich had good flavor. I think once the restaurant gets its groove, it will be an even better place to eat. As another reviewer mentioned, that location has had its share of different restaurants. I hope this one is successful. read more

I'm always hesitant yet ambitious when a new restaurant opens in Hollister. I like to at least try the establishment a couple times to give a good review. Well with this establishment I don't have to try multiple times for a satisfied belly. When I heard we were getting a seafood place I was ecstatic because I love good seafood. This place didn't disappoint. I ordered the fried calamari, oysters Rockefeller, the mixed bucket of clams and mussels, and my son got the kids grilled cheese. Presentation was on point. You can tell the chef takes pride in his freshness of seafood and presentation. Oysters, calamari, mussels, and clams tasted fresh (comes from a local distributor in San Juan). I did however ask if there might be some future menu items and the chef hopes that asked menu items may be in the future. If seafood boils become part of the menu then count me a life customer. I really hope this establishment succeeds because it is family owned and operated and I will do my best to support and hype our local businesses. Plus it is an establishment we don't currently have so that's a win in my book. Interior- open, bright, family friendly with a relaxed feel Food- fresh, made to order, tempura fried is crispy, seafood is fresh. Service- feels like you are at a family dinner. Owner is open to engaging with customers and open to hear your thoughts which made me feel like I was at my own dinner table asking my family their thoughts on my home cooked meal. While some owners may take criticism or suggestions as a negative I feel this owner/chef sees the positive in everything and that is a key attribute in succeeding. I will definitely be back (to fulfill my more than once to give the benefit of the doubt lol) but my fingers are crossed for a future seafood boil option. If not the other options are still satisfying. Note- please be patient as they have just opened (took a few minutes to acknowledge me) but patience can really make a difference. read more

Giving a solid 5 star review because I like local businesses but it should be a solid 3 for the food, Friday seemed nice and busy which is excellent for a local restaurant. The staff is great and respectful, the decor is awesome and so nice inside. Great portion sizes, however I believe the dishes definitely need some refining, the cioppino didn't look appealing, it had some good flavor but the broth needs work, simmer your tomato sauce with white wine don't let it boil or it turns cloudy, then add the seafood in last, the chowder also needs work all I could taste is celery, and no smokiness from the Bacon, and to much white pepper, the linguine chicken Alfredo, good portion I'm still working finishing it. The sauce was not seasoned well, but just add your Parmesan cheese that will help thicken it up and give flavor, the rib eye steak unsually full of fat, it was supposed to cooked medium well, and it came medium rare, which my sister didn't mind, but it was to much fat for her. And I think you cook it either on the plancha or just in a pan. However this review is just a nice critique nothing bad. I'll definitely come again. we have tried this place a few times and every time something is missing or cooked wrong. we had fried scallops that were grease laden to the point the batter fell off the cheesy bread was burnt and no cheese the clam chowder literally had one piece of clam. The fried shrimp were good and the place is new so we are hoping that they take this as a hint of what they need to improve on. one time they gave us someone else's order so we had to drive back to get our order. we really like the place city fish in Morgan hill and are praying that they can get to the same level. read more

Visited this restaurant on Wednesday the 30th. The decor is fresh, clean, and Oceanie. I Ordered fish and chips with 2 pieces of fish. WOW, my plate came with 2 very large pieces of fish plus plenty of fries! The taste ? Wonderful, fish was fresh fries were perfect!Pricing is also good. My husband and I visited this establishment for late lunch on 7/12. We have been looking forward to seafood coming to Hollister. Our server was the sweetest. Heard about "Catch 25" from friends who live in Hollister and it was worth the drive from San Jose to give it a try. The fish and chips were quite tasty and the two piece portion, along with the "seasoned just right" fries and tartar sauce, filled me up perfectly!
