Stopped by for brunch with a family member. Very "old school" local diner (just take a look at the vintage cash register to see what I mean). It was around 10am on a Thursday and the place was hopping with customers. We were told to sit anywhere and provided drinks and menus quickly. The menu is quite extensive. I ordered Virginia ham, hash browns and sunny side up eggs ($13.99). My family member ordered a burger. The food arrived quickly. HUGE portion sizes of tasty food. The Virginia ham was a very tender 1/2 inch thick luscious slab. My family member raved about how tasty the burger was and we were both in a food coma when we left. The parking lot is laid out kind of weird but all parking spots are easy for the mobility impaired to navigate to the entrance of the restaurant. To start off, the inside of the cups are scratched and all the ones in my table looked straight up dirty. It seems like they didn't even try to clean the glasses they probably just rinsed it for 2 seconds and called it a day. I ordered the ribs because I saw it advertised on the sign thinking that they would be good. Nope, the ribs weren't grilled but they tasted boiled and had the texture of eating rubber. The gravy on the mash potatoes was just plain nasty it tasted like the smell of my cat's food. My brother ordered chicken wings and the wings taste like reheated chicken nuggets. They tasted nothing like buffalo at all just crinkled chicken skin. Also, I don't know which lady was yelling in the kitchen every second but that was sightly irritating. We were traveling from San Francisco to Morro Bay and stopped in Gilroy for dinner. The waitstaff were friendly, the accommodations comfortable if dated, and the food was tasty and plentiful. My wife ordered the Garlic Salmon Salad, I got the Baby Back Ribs. Both were delicious, and were very ample serving sizes. The salmon was cooked perfectly and nicely presented with the added prawns on a bed of lettuce. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the sauce had just the right kick for me, and the baked potato topped it off nicely. I remember going to the long house with a kid still there and still has great food the garlic steak salad is delicious.

Went in again today and I had to try the New York Steak Sandwich and the potato salad with some delicious lemon soup. The New York Steak sandwich was PERFECT. Made to my request and the meat was so good. Not too much fat and bone. It was 99% meat and I was impressed because some places use meats with a lot of fat or bone and takes off the value of the plate. Overall this was a 5 star plate for me and the price was perfect for my wallet. LuLu waitress was great again and her service was a definite TRUE ONE!! The soda Coke with ice was also pretty good. Excellent service and very easily accessible by anyone in a wheelchair. There was a great open spot in front for a few wheelchairs. It's a good family at style local diner that's nice and quiet. I got the chorizo omelette with hash browns and it was pretty much your usual omelette with chorizo but still good and not greasy. I had a bite of my dad's French toast and that was great. Working a contract job in the area. Have come here several times. Very definition of comfort food and hardy meal. Everything my husband I have ordered has been exceptional. Dinners come with soup or salad. The homemade soups are outstanding. The steak is cooked and seasoned wonderfully. The Monterey chicken, is amazing. We also have had the prawn scampi, chicken Parmesan, country fried steak were all very very good. Servings are huge and at a reasonable price. We met up with family for lunch. The calamari steak was an incredible portion and tasty. The clam chowder was full of clams and tasty. The chicken salad was not too tasty with little to no seasoning. Great food. I am a big fan of turkey. Their cold turkey is loaded with turkey. It's a great sandwich. I also enjoy their breakfasts. Scrambled eggs come are not overcooked. The omelets are brown around the edges. Come here for the foot. The wife and I decided to try LH for a late lunch/early dinner and we were so glad we did. I went for the garlic steak sandwich with fries and a salad, she had the French dip with fries and a salad. The salads were delicious, and fresh, the fries were hot and crispy, the sandwiches were absolutely amazing. We both couldn't finish. Service was impeccable, very attentive and nice. The restaurant was clean and played great country music at a nice volume, you could actually have a conversation while dining. We look forward to going back. read more

I was with a large group, and we ordered a bit of everything. It's not the kind of food that anyone is going to rave about, but everything was good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. On top of that, it's CHEAP. With inflation what it's been for the past couple of years, I'm often shocked by the price of eating out. Not at Longhouse! I highly recommend a place. I've been going there for almost 8 years after the place caught fire. And after they remodeled the place, the food was even better. You get a lot of food for the money. Food is a good portion. They were alittle busy after we got there and they made a couple of mistakes on our orders. However the staff did what it could to correct it. Staff was friendly and somewhat forgetful. We had to keep reminding them for simple things but they were apologetic and kind. First time I came here back in December 2025, my cousin wanted to take me to one of his childhood favorites. The food was amazing; the entire staff was friendly and welcoming, a total family vibe which was fantastic. Went back again on 02/08/26 and this place didn't disappoint; I am super picky about what I get and at the same time, I don't want to inconvenience anyone. Not only did the waitress do my crazy idea of a breakfast but she also had the cook remake my pancakes; even though I said it was okay, but the pancake syrup (fake maple yucky) and she didn't want me to have a bad experience. She even left the other ones so that they could be ate by one of the guys lol! I could have taken her home with me as my new Tiá... Another wonderful meal at the Longhouse Resturant today oh my gosh I had a patty melt my sister had the shrimp avocado salad fresh crisp lettuce, a wonderful burger that was cooked to my perfection.
