Honestly such great food & vibes. We got a couple catch rolls, spicy gigli pasta & truffle fries to share & it was so so good. The catch rolls are such a staple & sooooo good. I will say, for $25 & you only get 5 rolls is crazy expensive. $5 for each piece. The spicy gigli pasta was honestly such a pleasant surprise. It tasted like a vodka sauce & was delicious! Would definitely recommend! The truffle fries were just like your normal truffle fries but still delicious. Overall the staff is very friendly. Catch NYC you deserve the hype! We originally had a reservation at RH footop, but that canceled on us bc of a little rain? Whatever their loss, so we decided to try something nearby and Catch was the first thing in the list! It's kinda in a hidden location, but once you find it you'll go upstairs to the second floor using their elevator. The second floor is the indoor seating, but their top floor is where they have rooftop seating. I made a reservation, but it took a while to be seated. We ended up sitting outside in their rooftop and it's absolutely beautiful and nicely decorated. Now on to the food!! Come with a group! All the food is meant to be shared and they come out once it's ready! Starters Edamame: Seasoned to absolute perfection Pretzel Bread: Light and fluffy and the whipped honey mustard butter omgoshhh is amazing! Truffle Fries: Great! Went in specifically for the brunch prix fixe menu as a recommendation from friends. $85 for two people is quite a good deal IMO and included a bottle of champagne?! Everything that we ended up ordering was delicious. The staff all were attentive and hospitable. Interior was chic and it got really busy really fast so reservations are a must. Onto the food: everything was delicious, and I really mean that -- everything. Our favorite items (and items that we order when available at different Catch locations) are the TRUFFLE SASHIMI, CRUNCHY RICE CAKES and CRISPY SHRIMP. The food was amazing, I'm very happy I went on my job's dime because it can get expensive real quick. I really enjoyed the drinks. My drink of the night had sour patch kids on a stick which was truly nostalgic. I'm not a huge fan of raw sushi but I did try some for the first time and was impressed. We had a large group & the server did really well navigating our requests. I also just arrived for my trip with a large suitcase and the staff took it without a problem. We ordered the baby gem ceasar salad to start and we were very surprised by what we got. Rhe salad had asparagus, snap peas, and avocado in it. Pricey, swaggy, sexy fun are what a night at Catch was for me. I had my first French 75 cocktail at this restaurant. Lighting is dark and intimate and there's 3 levels apparently. I dined at the top. A crab roll sushi starter was good. My friend and I shared lobster mac and cheese which was a bit overly salty and just O-kay. I had a main course of spaghetti and mushrooms with added grilled shrimp. I enjoyed that dish from the first bite to the last. Portions are generous. Great first visit to Catch! Staff was friendly and accommodating of our large group- we were even able to get a same day?, group reservation for 7 at dinner at 7:30pm. I've been to Catch LA before and I'll have to say I really enjoyed Catch NYC a lot more. We sat indoors on the rooftop floor. It was a bit more casual up there but the food was far from casual. They really are known for their seafood, and they did not disappoint! 1) fave dish of the night was the truffle sashimi- (9.5/10) They really got the truffle flavor down (chef's kiss) 2. Branzino- (8.5/10) can't go wrong with Branzino, and they did a really good job with making sure it's flavorful 3. Wagyu surf and turf roll (8/10)- recommend 4. Grilled octopus (7.5/10)- wasn't bad, but wasn't mind blowingly good either 5. Hit me cake (10/10)- the infamous hit me cake, so freaking good we literally devoured that in seconds. It's a must get!! 6. The only thing I did not like was the brussel sprouts... kinda sogggy and wasn't roasted? Flavors were also not really there Their drinks are actually really yummy! For a trendy spot, the food here is actually great! My favorites are the truffle mushroom spaghetti, crispy shrimp, shishito peppers, and Caesar salad. You can skip the chicken bao bun and edamame. The crispy rice cakes with tuna are delicious but are super over priced given how small they were. I also really enjoyed the hamachi crudo and truffle fries. Catch is solid. It feels like a duck out location. I ate outside on the rooftop which makes for great entertainment because you're so close to people. I celebrated my friends birthday last night here and it was AMAZING. Definitely get a reservation here cause my friend luckily got the last table because somebody canceled the day before. Ambiance wise it does get really packed after 7/7:30. We had various seafood and meat dishes like the hellfire roll, crunchy nori tacos, Spanish octopus, filet skewers, crispy shrimp and karaage chicken. EVERYTHING was so flavorful and literally the tacos and rolls melt in your mouth. We also had the carnival (donuts) dessert with raspberry and chocolate syrup and the donuts are so soft and warm to eat. We also shared the pistachio cheesecake with a coconut sorbet which was so sweet in a nutty way. DEFINITELY have to come back here again. 2.5 Stars. A last minute outing brought me and a friend (and another friend of my friend!) at Catch on a busy and wintery night. (Date was 2/4/23) The place is a bit stuffy for me - in more ways than one. I do believe there are 2 floors and we had to wait for the whole party to arrive to be seated. We ended up on a table on the second floor - the place was packed though and the tables seemed to be placed a bit too close together for my liking. The service was just OK, the food waitress couldn't crack a smile for her life, but she tried to be polite and pleasant enough. We ordered some wine and shared the Ceviche and the Tartare Trio. While delicious on the spot, my friend and I both had HORRIBLE stomach pains post dinner in our Uber. We both were not aware of each other's pain and just suffered in silence and only the following day we shared our similar experience! She's a lot more comfortable than I am with raw fish and I would totally believe that in a place like Catch, the fish would not pose any issue of any sort. So I truly just thought that it was just me and my stomach issue on my end alone. It was also my first time at Catch, but she has been many times before. Hoping it was just a one-off.
