    Remix Rumble. The Wrestling Night
    Miori I.

First time at Catch One. Hella trendy spot with several clubs/events taking place at the same time. Line around the corner for one club. Luckily, we were at Catch One for Remix Rumble The Wrestling Nightclub and there was a very short line. Look for street parking down the road. Walking a couple blocks is worth not spending $40 to park in the neighboring parking lot. Small club. Friendly bartenders. Sticky floors. There was only one unisex bathroom available for a portion of the evening. Could have been quite the problem but the line moved pretty well. The very few women in the club were happy when the bathrooms in the back of the club opened up. I've heard the event spaces are used for a variety of clubs, events, pop ups etc. Would love to see how the spaces are transformed for other occasions.

Honestly my favorite venue out of the millions I've been to. There were many different rooms and all of them had cool interior and lights. In the bar area, there were TVs that projected the stage, so you weren't missing out. All the staff were great, the bartender was very generous with the shots and drinks (the shots were strong), and honestly a 5/5.

It was my first time being here with some of my friends and it was chill on a Friday night. I went to go support my home who was djing for this event called BIPOLAR. Parking is pretty attrocious here but there is a parking around the corner that was $30 unfortunately but that's a whole another story. Venue itself was pretty empty. I didn't mind it though because I don't like being stuck fighting through crowds and super sweaty. AC was working very nicely. All of the service was very smooth and everyone was kind as I went to just support the homies. I didn't purchase any food but drinks were fine. We just had some shots and high noons. All in all it was a good time!

When are the BDSM shows? Also when are the hello kitty raves?

    Is there a dress code?

No. For men they're more lax than other, bougier clubs. I've gone in wearing tank tops before. It's another reason why I like this place so much.

How is the parking in this area on a Friday night?

Parking always sucks, but you can always find some parking a few blocks away behind the venue.

Is there a cover fee to get in?

Yes it depends what night is it or event 10-25 bucks

Would a 17 year old be allowed in for a concert?

Don't think so unfortunately, you should call to confirm.

Is catch one a gay bar?

It was originally but came under new ownership in 2015 by Mitch Edelson and was renamed "The Union". They have LGBTQ nights on occasions with a decent-sized audience.

Kiss Kiss is a ""speakeasy"" style club in K-town (parking theoretically available on side streets + metered though you're better off using rideshare) that neighbors another ""speakeasy"" style club around the corner. What's changed about Kiss Kiss? Drink prices for one! They've multiplied by 1.5x at least (!) and now they seemingly do not limit capacity at the club because we felt like we were in a can of sardines in there. The bartenders are still nice and polite at least. The music is also not at all any good anymore. We came on Halloween night because (1) we are familiar w/ Kiss Kiss and (2) we figured K-town was less chaotic than WeHo. This is where we learned they had tickets for sale at the door to get in (please brace yourselves,,,, it was an astounding $45......). We sucked it up and paid (our mistake we would soon learn). The night itself was advertised as a 70's disco Halloween event. At NO POINT in the entire night was 70s music played as every. single. song. was synth/house music. At the most maybe 4 songs were synth/house/EDM remixes of 70s music. Not to mention!!! They only played 1 Halloween song all night! The only positive from the night was the decor was nice. Security guards at the bathroom side make you leave your drink "under their watch" while you use the restroom. I stayed behind and switched with my friend to keep a constant eye on our drinks because the man on duty was doing everything BUT watching people's drinks!! In a town where women are known to be roofied frankly quite often is insane to me. TLDR; Cover fee is $$, drinks are $$, place is so packed you're bumping into people ever 5 seconds, security is useless, do not come here.

We were honestly falling asleep waiting for the actual entertainment to begin. The entire night felt chaotic from the moment we arrived. You spend time getting dressed up, planning a date night, driving downtown, and trying to be excited for the experience, only to park in a dark lot with feces and urine in the stairway. It was scary and disgusting. We looked past the parking lot situation because we were excited to enjoy our night out, but unfortunately the experience only got worse from there. The waitress kept pushing us to order more items, which made the whole night feel like a money grab. The food was absolutely embarrassing and nothing like what was advertised in the gallery photos on the website. It honestly felt like it came straight from Costco. Other reviews mentioned food being served on paper plates, and we can confirm that we experienced that too. The slice of pizza was literally Costco pizza. The pizza and snacks were cheap, low-quality, and nowhere near what you would expect for the price. It really makes you wonder how many people feel misled by that kind of advertising. There was also a complete lack of control and management. People who did not pay for reserved seating were hovering nearby, ready to take your seat the second you got up to use the restroom or go to the dance floor. We saw multiple people weasel their way into reserved lounge and table areas on the ground floor. At one point, a couple was even going through someone's fur coat and looked close to taking belongings before the actual couple returned. That alone says a lot about the environment and lack of security. The billing situation made it even worse. The waitress quickly skipped through the itemized receipt, which made it easy to miss that a 20% tip had already been included. We ended up tipping on top of the included gratuity and only realized it afterward. At that point, we felt completely scammed. We spent over $300, and the overall experience and management were absolutely not worth it. To be fair, some of the acts were great and the band was great. Separate from that, everything else was as mentioned. Between the deceptive billing, weak drinks that barely seemed to have alcohol, the delayed start, boring dance lessons, embarrassing food, poor seating control, and lack of management, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. I definitely do not recommend reserving seats, drinking at this event, or buying their food. Eat dinner beforehand and do not worry about arriving on time, because the show does not really start until around 10:30 anyway. We left feeling scammed.

I've heard of La Cita for years, and this is definitely one of those places that has been around for a while and has that classic Downtown LA bar feel. There was a little bit of a line when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long to get inside. Tonight there was a $15 cover charge. Once we got in, we went straight for some drinks and had a beer and a couple of cocktails. The bar was pretty busy, and it did take a little while for us to get our drinks, but we eventually got them. The DJ was playing a lot of good Spanish music, which really added to the atmosphere and made it a fun place to hang out and have drinks. One thing I thought was really cool was that they had a photo booth inside. I wasn't expecting that, and it was a fun little extra. They also have an outdoor bar area, which was nice because it gives you another place to hang out and take a break from the crowd. Overall, La Cita has that typical Downtown LA bar vibe busy, energetic, casual, and definitely geared toward having drinks, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. If you're already downtown and looking for a place to have some drinks and enjoy Spanish music, it's definitely worth checking out. We had a good time stopping in after dinner!l.

I am confused. Yelp says the Mayan is closed. Mapquest says the Mayan is closed. But this past…read moreweekend I was there-- not as a trespasser- but as a dancer and reveler- with a whole lots of other movers and shakers. So what is the answer? How can we resolve the confusion? La Santa might be the answer. They are the club promoters who brought the Mayan back to life, at least for a night. And let me be the first person who takes it to Yelp, to say that this party was, lit! I got there early because I wanted to get in, and move my feet as soon as I could. I did not fancy just standing in line waiting for my opportunity to thrive on the dance floor. But still I waited in the line. The doors opened at 1000 p.m. but I did not get in until like 1040. Being part of the line, however, is part of the experience. People meet in line, conversations are overheard in line, and in general, being in line at the club is an opportunity to experience the goers as they wait, which is really different, then goers move to music. I paidy 60 dollars to get in. I took a shot in the foot because I did not pay for the tickets on advance. Live, and learn, and get pre-tickets, as well as diapers before they are needed. A La Santa party at the Mayan is a full blown event. I have been to clubs in my life, not many, it was never my go to option, but here I saw club theatrics that were stale in theory but lively in practice. For instance, I guy made it rain. He was in a table, I guess they cost a lot of money to book. And he took out this wad of cash, which I saw were all singles. And he threw the cash into the air, but it did not go far. He was in the first floor, he did not have the height to make the cash flow with the winds. So instead it fell, not like confetti, but like sad streamers who did not fly to the air. At first I thought it was monopoly money, it is not until I saw it on the floor that I understood what it meant. I picked a few dolllars up so I could say that I did. I did not know that they were meant to be left on the ground. Eventually, I saw someone pick them up in a bucket, but not the ones in the dance floor just the ones near the viciinty of the table. Being in a room with a lot of people dancing, actual confetti falling, smoke guns being used, lasers being strong and flirty and everywhere, took me from my mind into the moment. The spectacle around me could not be ignored, of course, but more importantly it was immersive. I was no longer at a club trying to have a good time, the club had infused me with a good time. And for anyone trying to escape the woe of their daily grind, this kind of moment is worth more than 60 dollars, but still, it cannot be purchased with intent, some money has to be spent. I think my favorite moments came when masked performers danced and used gun smokes, and their own light-up costumes, to make the party, a bouncing blast. As I look back at the videos, I realize that the noise and spectacle of the moment was evident and communicative just with the videos. I am not sure if I am reliving the fun, or, if the videos communicate the fun anew. THe difference being that a new person, would know the fun to be had, as I do, regardless of whether they were there or not. I guess, to truly remember the fun, through out your whole body and chest you had to be there. The videos still communicate the romp though, me thinks. The drag of the night were the long lines to get a drink. I once watched a tv show where the newly appointed king of hell made all tortures singular: wait in line, like in the DMV, and when one gets to the front, the line starts a new. The bar lines made me think of that. Unlike the line to get in, these lines were clearer barrier to a good time, because they were like an hour long, with no clear shape or direction. They were just long and tedious. And if one likes to sip, then liquor goes fast, but the line does not. So I suggest you act accordingly or accept that drinks will be a wait that requires more than patience, but acceptance. There were a lot of people to see too. I am sure that in the sea of party goes any person will find someone that they find fun to hangout with or imagine how it would be fun if they hang out, and then some.

2026: not open on sunday -…read more 2024: WHOEVER THE DJ WAS ON 1/4 ON MAIN FLOOR AT 1230-130am KILLED THAT SHT. tried to tip him but he didnt want my money. - 2022: The reviews are kind of spot on. 15 to get in. get there early so you dont have to wait in line for too long! Sneakers r okay! Collard shirt i was told when i called but i dont see everyone wearing one lol. Main floor is hiphop edm old school a little spanish top40!. Basement is spanish, merengue banda bachata salsa reggaeton etc etc. Top is edm house electronic. The music overall is really good! Sometimes they slack, esp on fridays!! They open up the floors one by one for w/e foolish reason lol. I hateeee that. It gets really hot in there and a little too crowded on saturdays. Fridays much more open space, and i love that!. The crowd be dancing. Its a decent vibe. People are a lil to themselves and their circle (typical LA)at times but not too bad. Stay clear of security and bottle service girls, or anyone actually, ppl will push tf out of you... i just stop dancing when whoever starts walking towards me and stare at them . The crowd is pretty consistent.. the girl to boy ratio is decent. A lot of people b walking around and its so annoying. Theres a time and place bro. MORE DANCING AND LESS WALKING PLEASE. theres lines to go to another floor which is annoying af. Those lines take up mad space on the middle main floor. I Didnt drink. Fridays and saturdays are really have two different vibes.. Theres a few seats around but dont count on it. Unless u buy a table of course. This club picks up fast by the way! Call them for questions and check their website. They check ID. Pretty sure you have to be 21. their website says there is parking behind the building but idk. Parking places around are $15. 15 mins waiting on line usually if u dont come late. Cash or credit good here. This is lowkey my spot lol. Been here several times since i found this place may 2022. I love the music here. WHEN THEYRE NOT SLACKING AND WALKING AWAY FROM DJ'n & talking to friends bs'n. AND WHEN THEYRE ACTUALLY ENGAGED WITH THE CROWD, making ppl move they body. Ayo thanks for playing the weeknd blinding lights ... XOTWOD! the main floor music is better on saturday. The top floor music is better on friday lol. Consistently. The basement is always lit. Again, things could b hit or miss but nonetheless, this spot, club mayan, arena ktown, doesnt fail me and they all a different vibe. Wonder what will be next haha
