I really enjoy this venue for Das Bunker on friday Nights. I tried going to Ground Control once, and my friend had to elbow my ribs a few times to keep me from falling asleep! Back to Bunker on Friday's 3 rooms of awesome music! The large room upstairs is industrial, ebm, etc. The 2nd room downstairs consists mostly of powernoize. And the 3rd room in the back downstairs is mostly oldschool industrial. I love how if I dont like a song playing in one room, I can pretty much rest assured there will be something awesome playing in one of the others. The drinks at both bars are always made well, and their zombies are the best! The dance rooms have good sound systems and the main room has good lighting, and there's also dance boxes with dancing poles for all the attention whores out there! ;) Parking is a pain in the neck if you dont get there early, you may expect to circle the local city blocks a few times just to squeeze into a spot. read more

I mean its a cool lil venue for lil shows/ parties but its not anything impressive... Kinda ghetto at times. I was a bit appalled during one of my nights out at the Union. I was in the women's restroom and this man kept walking inside cleaning. Despite all the young girls that were in the restroom, I thought a male janitor wasn't supposed to go inside the restroom to clean when other females are inside. Hm. Was he going against policy or is there a lack of enforcement for the Union staff? read more

Great music, dark ambiance and dancing galore.

I was extremely impressed with this venue. I'm not sure why some reviews complain about the sound being a little too loud. I came prepared with earplugs, but there was no need to use them. Regarding the club itself: This spot is an old building, which provides a very unique floor plan. When you go, I highly recommend that you explore it's layout. Each new room you stumble across, adds a new dimension to the venue's mystique (Make sure you visit the Circle Bar). I honestly don't have one negative thing to add. Ok, so let me start by saying this place is a sweat box. We went for Night Bass and AC slater killed it, their sound system was pretty good. There is a lot of room at this club to walk around which helps because like I said it get HOT!!! If this place spent a few thousand bucks on getting air conditioning this place would be a perfect venue. Instead Definitely need a shower after walking out of that place. I used to love this place a decade ago when Das Bunker was hosted here on Friday nights. I went to see one of my favorite bands of all time - a band that, in opening for another act blew the headliner out of the water years ago. However, at the Catch One underground, it turned out to be the worst show I have ever seen. I cannot begin to describe how terrible the audio quality was. A number of superfans and I actually walked out of the show! Everyone had the same consensus that the ball was dropped hard. Das Ich is coming, another band I have enjoyed in the past. Went to this night club back in November to see Candyland with two friends. This was my first time here so I was unsure as to what I should expect. We got there around 10 pm and the place already had a number of people inside. The place has two bars and one set of bathrooms. There were a number of things I did not like about the place. The main room would get really hot and stuffy and there seemed to be no air conditioning in the place so we would need to leave the room for a bit just because it was too hot. The crowd was also really young and most of them seemed to be there just for the sake of going to a night club on a Thursday night. Lastly, it was really irritating that the main performer went on at 1 when most of the crowd had gone home and we were already too tired of being there. Would not ever go here again after this experience, nor would I recommend it to a friend. read more

This place is a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be! 3 full bars, 2 dance floors, and smoking patio. Lots of seating all around the walls and a few brass poles for the ladies and sometimes for the men too! Free parking on the streets. (Das Bunker's) sound system was awesome! read more

This place is garbage. The sound is horrible. The staff is hostile and complete a$$holes. Waited 10 min for the bar tender to take my order, but he ignored me even when i tried to get his attention. So I saved my money and didn't bother drinking at all. The club policies are anti consumer at best. No in and out without an all access pass? Wish they had that on the website so i would've known. No outside drinks alowed and they charge $4 for a small bottle of water. $15 dollar parking is outrageous. The location is extremely seedy. If you're part of the entertainment for the evening, the staff jerks you around. They were even trying to charge the live bands for parking. Just avoid.... Spend your money where they appreciate you. Back in the day, this place use to be an LGBT club called The Catch. It's crazy to see, over the years, that it's now become this "underground" rave club that brings in talent like Dubfire and Hot Since 82. The venue is huge! There's 3 different rooms for dancing, an outdoor smoking area (that closes early due to noise complaints), and I think 4 bars. As you would expect from an underground vibbed club, it can get pretty hot in there, but if you like techno or any other type of edm, you're probably familiar with the heat on the dance floor. I had a ton of fun here and will definitely be coming back the next time they have a party. read more

Came here for the Absu black metal show and aside from parking, I love this place. The bartenders, Ariana and the tall guy with dreads, were on it! They hustled the whole night, sound guy was on his shit, and everyone had a good time. Definitely hoping for more black metal here read more

came here recently for a kanye loves kanye event and we arrived early and we able to get parking in the back behind the establishment (i believe it was $15 for parking that night) and there is a food truck out in front. when we walked over there were two lines (one if you're on vip guest list and the regular guest list for the event). before getting in security will pat you down and check your purses. they are not aggressive or anything like that! when i got in this place is HUGE! multiple rooms, multiple bars, and outdoor area for smoking section (however you have to walk a HUGE flight of stairs down to get to). the music was awesome (of course, because kanye...) and because the event wasn't SUPER packed the bathroom was almost empty every time... and hey props to having a huge bathroom with lights on and huge mirrors... i hate going to a club and the bathrooms being super dark. the downfall to this was that when we went to the bar the woman working gave my friend's credit card to someone else and charging each other's order to the other's card (even tho there was no one at the bar). therefore my friend ended up paying 3x her original order and so the bartenders only solution was that she will remember and my friend will need to come back two more times to get drinks. like what if she only wanted one...?? then while that woman took care of that problem a male (looked like security) then took my drink order but ended up giving it to me in the smaller cups rather than the normal size as everyone else. i was frustrated because it was half the size so i asked the woman bartender and thankfully she replaced the cup for me and filled it to the right height. the only problem i had was the first time i went i was charged $10, but the second time i went to her she charged me $11. i was over it at this point so i didn't say anything but that is shady!!! i honestly want to give this place lower stars because of the bar incidents, but honestly i think this is a great venue for events and i would return... just my advice - watch out when you're at the bar! read more

I am extremely disappointed with the management of this venue. They really need to work on improving the quality of people's experiences there and making egress and safety a higher priority. I paid nearly $60 a piece for two seated tickets to see a concert last night with my boyfriend and the staff were highly unorganized in how they handled their paying guests. When we arrived, I didn't mind the security check at the entrance but we arrived at 7:10 after the point when doors were supposed to open at 7pm and there was a line waiting around the block. Some wrist bands were being issued to people as they waited but the seated wristbands and standing wristbands were exactly the same, and we were not given any assurance we would get the seating we paid extra for. I was just told by a surly bouncer that it was first come first serve unless you paid for premium seating. Once we were finally admitted in at 7:45, the door girl scanned our tickets but did not give us any assurance we would have seats either. I had hoped once we got through that 3-step process of entry that we could finally go inside to find seats after standing for so long, but as soon as we got into the upstairs lobby/ballroom area, we noticed they had closed off the doors to the concert hall and bouncers were guarding the doors and nearby exits, so for 20 more minutes, everyone was shuffled into this cramped group like cattle waiting for the doors to open so that they could get comfortable in the concert hall. We couldn't help thinking about that tragic bar room shooting in Thousand Oaks earlier the same day and how in the event of an active shooter incident or a fire, this would be extremely unsafe with so few points of egress and some people would likely get trampled in a situation of panic. My huge safety concerns aside, I also was very disappointed that the venue had loud thumping dub-base/electronic music playing for a separate event downstairs of the concert hall which was disrupting our enjoyment of the concert and the music we paid to enjoy. If you are going to be greedy and pack a venue with two events at the same time, you should have people monitoring the sound more carefully and soundproof better. The performers were clearly annoyed by this blatant disrespect of their time and efforts, too, but put on a fantastic show nonetheless. I would not return to this venue if someone paid me. It appears their first priority is making as much money as possible, and not the enjoyment or safety of their guests. read more

I've been going to Das Bunker since the early days when it was held at a dingy little bar in Long Beach so The Catch One is a major step up in the world. The Catch One is huge and can afford a really large crowd. Still, it's kind of the poor man's Probe/A.D.- where they used to hold the *other* late, great industrial club. The bright spot of Bunker for me is the Retro Room. Lots of older stuff and some stuff that isn't that old (early 2000/01) but a fun mix to dance to. I usually end up covered in sweat from getting my dance on - as it should be! Parking really sucks around the venue so be prepared to get there very early for lot parking. The bar has never been exceptional, IMO. The music in the main room is decent. I'm not a fan of Powernoize, which usually just sounds like the clanking of metal against metal and/or someone trying to find the "brown note". Music that makes me want to shit my pants isn't my bag. Someone earlier hit the nail on the head when they said that the stairs are a safety hazard. Trying to navigate those narrow stairs in a pair of heels without eating shit is no small feat. Navigating those stairs while drunk? It would be like doing a field sobriety test from Hell. Very dangerous. read more

I normally club here on Saturdays when I do go. I normally have a good time, the drinks could be better, I normally have to go with a buzz already,lol. The security guards can be rude, I understand their position, but that does not me you don't practice common courtesy. The crowd is cool, always enjoy the dancers and the coverage is great. I've been going to this venue for many years, primarily for Das Bunker and related events. The massive renovation to keep this historic club alive was so appreciated. Safety of navigation and flooring was a main concern but these past problems are resolved. The main room now has an incredible sound system that does not leave me unable to hear upon exiting after hours of enjoyment. The AC units were blasting and it was ice cold even when crowded (the first opening night they were not working but I can forgive!) the new lighting throughout the club is simply fantastic. As always, the downstairs rooms are narrow and don't sound quite as good but they have a cozy social feel. It's a little disappointing to have the DJs so disconnected from their audience by being in an upper deck, but for safety and their own concentration it makes perfect sense. Security is professional, friendly and the newly opened staircases are managed well by keeping the people flow in one direction to prevent traffic jams. I have no comments on the smoking patio since that is never a priority for me. Drinks have gone up in price and the previously free parking lot is now $15...but I'm assuming something has to pay for the wonderful renovation. Thank you to the new owners and all who have dedicated so much to this venue. I'll be back as often as I can! read more

A misunderstanding occurred between an employee of his that left me flustered, and on the verge of abandoning what was a pleasant evening. Not only did he treat me like a human being, he turned a new leaf between myself and said employee/gentleman named Richard. I cannot thank Kane enough for the compassion and understanding he demonstrated with paramount equanimity. I don't meet individuals of his upstanding mettle on a regular basis. Oh God this place sucks. The acoustics are really bad so everything sounded really muddy, the speakers constantly distorted so there was a lot of ear-splitting crackling being shot out of them, the disco above means you can hear the thumping beat in the middle of band sets, which doesn't sound like a big deal but if you're there to see something dynamic, the lulls and quiet times are important. Okay so this dingy joint is in the not so glamorous part of town. But where else are you going to be able to dance to your favorite Industrial beats til late night. Originally Das Bunker was every other Friday, but it has since been going strong every Friday. Because of this the place can seem sparse at times while crowded at others. The empty space gives you more room to do your industrial stomp without punching someone in the face and it lets me walk around freely without having my hairfalls get smashed. The Friday night club "Das Bunker" here is among the best industrial-goth events in LA. What I like about this club is its not so pretentious as the majority of LA clubs. Most of the people are super chill and friendly which comes as a surprise to many newcomers. On occasion they have bands play. If you want to go to a club and be super anti social they have computers where you can check your email too. I heard the daytime vegan restaurant inside sucks. Parking isn't as bad as hollywood, you can usually find a street spot within 2 blocks. read more

Reviewing Das Bunker here (v. Catch One), definitely the best industrial club I've been to so far. The DB crew puts a lot of work into keeping thing interesting, with a neverending list of theme nights, bands and guest DJs (e.g. Taiko drummers for Japanese night). Additionally, they promote EBM/industrial bands at local venues, like Safari Sam's with no ticket surcharge if you buy at DB (and still low if you buy online). There are 3 rooms, with industrial/EBM in the large main room, noise in the downstairs main area, and old school goth/industrial/dark wave in the retro room. There is a private back parking lot, which fills up early but you can almost always find street parking within a few blocks. 18 & over. If you want the flashy Hollywood goth/industrial scene hit Sinister, but if you want a low-key club, go to Bunker. read more

I've purchased tickets to 3 events here and I would think long and hard before ever going to another show here. The first show was uneventful. The second show was one of my favorite bands but I have no idea how it actually went because a few hours before the show the time was suddenly changed to a couple hours earlier! Thankfully my friend checks her email regularly and saw the notice. Otherwise I would have rushed home, gotten ready, taken a very long drive through traffic only to get there and find out the band I was there to see had played already. Instead I just lost the $20+ I had paid for my ticket and missed seeing our favorite band with my BFF one last time before she moves. You can't just suddenly make shows 2 hours earlier than advertised day of, especially in the middle of the work week! Finally, on Sunday we attended Mondo Hollywood strictly to see The Bomboras and The Detroit Cobras. First of all, this was my first time buying drinks. I expect to pay an obscene amount in Hollywood but this is not Hollywood and $14 for a little single-use plastic cup of vodka and soda and $6 bottled water is ridiculous. More importantly, when the Cobras started it was immediately apparent that the singer had almost no volume in her mike! And even though the band called attention to it nothing was done to fix it. Do you guys not have a sound person?! If you do you need to fire them! 16 years I've waited to see these guys again and I ended up leaving early because the sound was so awful. Many other people also seemed to be giving up and walking out. One or two songs is one thing but when a venue is so unconcerned with the quality of what they're presenting that they'll let an act play its entire set without dealing with major sound issues then I have to seriously consider whether it's worth paying anymore money to see shows there. read more
