While the WP location is special to us, Lake Mary is much closer, so why not try it out?! Our party of five had a 5:30pm reservation and even though we arrived early, it was no problem to be seated. The company has done a fantastic job at decorating and laying out this location. I love the vibes! We all took advantage of the limited time Magical Dining menu. The portions were a lot bigger than I was expecting and everything was phenomenal. Some highlights were the pork tenderloin, lobster wontons, and donut holes with caramel dipping sauce. Our server, Jose (I think), was very kind and patient with our slow to order group. He checked on us multiple times. Boca Lake Mary might just be my new favorite restaurant in the Orlando area. The food, service, and ambiance combine well together to make the total package shine. I can't wait to return.

The restaurant was very busy and the noise level was extremely high, so not ideal for families it seems like but fine for our party. Our server was Matthew and from start to finish he provided excellent service. He was very polite, never made it seem like he didn't have time for our table even though the restaurant was packed and he was most likely dealing with many patrons and their needs. The food took quite a while, with our main entrees (everyone got the butchers cut) coming out just around 1 hr or after we ordered. We're patient so that was no problem, but the steak was chewy and super rare when they told us it would be around medium. The fries were decent. Avocado aioli was good. The garlic aioli tasted like flavored sour cream. The lobster wontons were mostly cream cheese. As for dessert - they ended up being out of the brûlée and the orchard crunch. Matthew so kindly heard our requests for alternatives and checked with the kitchen to substitute for affogato, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We werent impressed by the food, but we did have a late reservation so maybe earlier wouldve provided a better tasting experience. There weren't too many positives to mention during this dining experience but Matthew definitely helped us enjoy our time at Boca even though the food wasn't terrific!

I wanted everything on the menu. This was more than southern comfort. I was very impressed and each dish had the perfect balance of flavor. Portions were perfect and it's always nice to be satisfied without feeling sick after like so many "comfort" foods can. I got the Korean seabass special and it was slightly pan fried with a crisp I the edges and meaty center. The pickled peaches were excellent! The ice cream is house made and very unique. We had the popcorn, buttermilk and brown sugar. I liked the brown sugar the best. :) The drink selections were great. I really enjoyed this orange beer that had over 5 % abv and is a good contender to OBP! We will be back next month because I've got to try the ragu and gnocchi!

Their story and concept is great. You're truly supporting a local business that has been around for a long time and has amazing reviews. The owner is the chef and they have a staff of maybe 5 people total. It's personal and professional. It's fresh food made daily and you can see them working in the kitchen. If you go and eat one thing, it's the ribs appetizer. The salmon was amazing too. But the sauce and those ribs will have me going back!

They've thoroughly beat out all the usual suspects when it comes to breakfast. We ordered Mama Jen's bowl and asked for an over medium egg. I'm a retired Chef so I have various "test foods" I order whenever I go somewhere new. They got the medium SPOT ON. That is a feat unto itself. The potatoes were crisp on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. Completely impressed. We also ordered the Ultimate Omelet. The fillings were perfectly portioned so nothing outshined or pushed off anything else. The spinach had just the right wilt without being mushy. I am beyond impressed and will be recommending this place to everyone

We headed to the one in Orange City vs Deland as it's closer even though Deland has been our go to. One waitress (not ours) was great, she was chatty and we laughed about one of the sports on the TVs. Ours was kind enough but she didn't even come to check on us till we were nearly done eating. It was pretty dead but we thought nothin of it. The Cherry Lemonade they have is out of this world and I could drink it by the gallon. My wife got the brisket sandwich with green beans. The meat was all gristle, super salty and didn't even cover the bun. The beans were tasty but very mushy. I got the 2 meat choosing smoked pork which I got sliced and the St Louis ribs. The ribs were near perfect, the meat came right off the bone, every last bit of it but it was a tiny bit on the dry side. The pork was 95% fat there was nearly no meat to be spoken of, I can't even fathom how awful it would've looked had I chosen pulled. My sides were the BBQ beans which were smokey, thick and outstanding. The dirty rice was a question in what the heck were they thinking. Never have I ever in 55 years seen corn kernels in dirty rice and I'm accustomed to there being ground meat not chunks of sausage and I don't know what type of sausage they were using but there was something almost sweet and a lil bit tangy to it which thoroughly threw everything off balance and the rice was thick and chewy. Looking at the reviews here on Yelp, guess we should've stayed with the one in Deland. With all the choices of BBQ around here Sonny's in permanently out of rotation after this.
