Nice little hole in the wall place in the industrial part of town. Catfish either fried or blackened, chicken tenders, burgers, fried frog's legs, chicken fried chicken or steak, stuffed crab, various sandwiches, hush puppies, onion rings, cole slaw, fried shrimp, and there's even dessert which I believe was a peach cobbler. No coke, only Pepsi. Prices are good, service is good too. My only complaint would be if they could cook the French fries so they aren't these limp little grease weiners. But over all it's a nice place to out to every now and again. read more

It's a local outfit that doesn't have a lot of flash or polish, just simple food cooked well. The chicken fried bacon, served with a side of cream gravy, tasted exactly like chicken fried bacon should taste. I'm glad I tried it, but it was too large for me to finish and still have the rest of my meal. One note, the hush puppies will sneak up on you, they have a little kick to them. read more

Great fish!!!!! Cute fish theme. We appreciated the Mom & Pop feel. Fresh cut, soggy fries that most seem to love, including my husband. They had the seating spread out to at least 6 ft apart due to the new 'norms'. Waitress was young but attentive - worked hard and was committed to keeping us happy, kept our drinks full & double checked on us randomly, was working the entire dining room solo. Came here for lunch & were seated immediately. The staff was nice and attentive. Atmosphere is pleasant and laid back. Our order consisted of both chicken and catfish. Their sweet tea is really good. I had read the reviews and did not expect it to be great, but even so I was seriously underwhelmed. Their name says they are in the business of selling catfish but the tiny "filets" were about 50/50 cornmeal to fish. ! The shrimp were a little better but not much. My server Max, was nice enough, but not a very skilled waiter. I waited for about 5-10 minutes for him to wipe my table down. (I had seated myself, so the dirty table was not their fault) . He forgot several things. I asked for tabasco and the bottle they bought had no regulator in it so when I went to shake a few drops out, it poured out(this was probably done by a previous customer unbeknownst to Max, but it didn't help my dining experience.)The tartar sauce was plentiful and nicely tart which is a plus. The "loaded" baked potato had less than an ounce each of cheese and bacon, but was basically lukewarm and definitely not hot enough to melt the cheese. Overall I didn't hate it, but I found it to basically be mediocre at best and not a place I would visit again unless everything else was closed read more

The waitress was wonderful even with a crowd. We were a party of 6 and she brought the food out right away and even extra pickles for my granddaughter. The crab cakes were fluffy and very good. Enjoyed the hushpuppies too. The catfish was a bit dry. Chicken fried steak was overcooked and dry. Gravy was just ok. The place was adorably charming though! Cheeseburger may not be their specialty but it is a beautiful burger. read more

Beware of To Go Orders !!!! I ordered at the restaurant. It took up to an hour to receive my food while the 4 couples that came after me were served. I asked about my order and was told it's still cooking & will take another 10 minutes. When I received my order it was cold. I truly believe they held back my order. The short older Hispanic woman was rude, disrespectful & condescending. And, I have nothing against Hispanics because I'm Hispanic. But, my parents raised me with manners. She was already angry when I paid. But, I noticed she was nice to the customers eating inside. Then I realized it was about money. Tip money which is sad that they would stop so low for money. The food was fine and the service was okay, but employees at this location are not COVID conscious. NONE of the servers or staff were wearing masks. Half of the customers coming into the restaurant came in without masks prior to being seated. When I asked a waitress why they were not wearing masks, she said they were not required to. Please heed this review as a warning signal, as a ship captain would a lighthouse. I write this from the floor of my bathroom that I have been on for 4 hours after having eaten the "7 Jumbo Shrimp" at Catfish Corner less than 12 hours earlier. I struggle to understand who is writing the rave reviews I have read about this place as the service was laughably awful, food flavorless and inedible, and prices outrageous for the fresh-frozen fish I was served. Initially it took almost 5 minutes of my friend and I standing at the front to be noticed. We were asked to seat ourselves, then it took another 10-12 minutes for a server to take a drink order (on a Thursday night with a less than busy dinning room). The sweet tea was the only remotely good thing about this entire experience. Finally our server came over and seemed to have trouble remembering our two simple orders as she kept repeating them and we kept correcting her, she didn't bother right them down, but instead wanted to try to play the memorization game. I ordered the 7 Jumbo Shrimp with hush puppies, and a loaded salad... Our waitress then came back a second time to re-ask what we had ordered because she forgot on the way to the kitchen... Then the other waitress came back with pen and paper in hand to ask our order because our first waitress was unable to perform her job. Through all of the communication or lack there of, which was reminiscent of that elementary school game "telephone" my order was botched and I was served 7 frozen and clearly not fresh, rubbery jumbo shrimp. Flavorless except for a strange hint of spice in the over powering bready batter. Cold, flavorless hush puppies on the side. THEN, I do acknowledge that a potato is a vegetable but I did not think that my "loaded salad" that I paid $.99 extra for was instead a pre-baked, cold potato with a pinch of cheddar cheese and artificial bacon bits... I paid my $18.84 bill and ran as fast as I could out of their front door in search of Peto-Bismal. That concludes my experience at Catfish Corner. I went here last night for dinner. I had the frog legs appetizer, cheeseburger, and some kind of seafood platter that I cant recall. I like everything except for the stuff crab. I was expecting more crab meat in the stuffing. So, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be more stuffing than meat, but that's how I perceived it. Overall, it didn't taste like Long John's Silver or Red Lobster and that's a plus in my book. The servers were professional, nice, and attentive. The ambiance was quiet and clean. It's a small dive that has greatly improved since I last visited. I'm glad to see this place still around. My older brother gave it a 1 star and "Terrible with a capital T". I Have to disagree. It's not perfect, but it's a quaint little place with good food. it fills up quickly around lunch time. Had to ask several times for tabasco and red sauce, but our waitress did fine overall and was very friendly. Don't care much for the small salad with dill pickles on top. I am dissapointed with my fav restaurant. This is the 2nd time in a month I have been here and the fish was not edible or not at the quality once provided. First, I have eaten at this restaurant since opening. My go to place for great catfish all the time. Something has changed and they now dont trim the dark skin flesh that tastes muddy off filets anymore. It tastes nasty and muddy. Came here for dinner. My boyfriend's family raves about the catfish here. We all ordered the "all you can eat catfish". It comes with two sides. I got a baked potato and a salad. I ordered "thin and crispy" for my catfish because I prefer the crispier texture. The catfish was very good! It was crispy, flaky, everything you would want in a fried catfish. Today was my first visit to Catfish Corner located on Treadaway making it a bit out of the way for most people looking to "do lunch" and get back to the work place. Getting back to work is very low on my scale of things to do soooo... I had the catfish plate with back potato, & sweet tea chaser. Found the meal to be very good. Service was speedy, the staff was quick to refill drinks and check to see if anything was needed. I would say seating in a bit odd 13 ish table in a long dining area, but they have to work with what they god right... Could use upgrade of paint to get a fisherman feel it works thou. Have been told this is the best place in town for catfish. No frills for sure, my overall experience was that it's a bit uneven. The catfish itself is good, not great. The hush puppies and fries also good, although not especially fresh tasting, like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a little bit. These are the things you can't mess up at at a catfish place and they do an okay job. My wife's cole slaw, another catfish side-dish must have, looked decent and she said it was fine. The side salad was just iceberg lettuce, under-ripened tomatoes and a couple of hamburger pickles. Why they put pickles on a salad is beyond me. Regional thing? I was hoping for some awesome homemade ranch from a place like this, but it was way too sweet. Perhaps store-bought, which isn't a crime, but you can't just go with off brand junk. Our server was super-friendly, but way over-extended in a section of at least 6-8 tables that came in all at once. I asked for an extra cole slaw, which never came and my iced tea remained empty for the majority of the evening. The did come out fast, which was nice. Overall, nothing too impressive. They do the main dishes justice, but there is plenty they could improve on with service and staffing. Four stars on the fried catfish for sure. Sometimes you just want some fried fish and this is the place. In my younger days I had the All You Can Eat, nowadays it's just the catfish plate and they've never disappointed. Every trip, good food, good service, reasonable prices. They make their own tartar sauce, which is always good, but sometimes fantastic. That small inconsistency is the only negative I have. Top shelf onion rings as well. I can't tell you how many times I've gone there with the intent to try the chicken fried steak or something else, but somehow I always get catfish. For forty dollars you would think that you would get fried food instead of dried rubbery microwave warmed food: fried shrimp and fried catfish filets. I also thought you can't screw up hush puppies or cole slaw but I was wrong. Hush puppies are not supposed to be chewy. I won't even waste the leftovers on a hungry dog.
