    The best catfish fried hard
    Katherine G.

Changed staff makes all the difference. I will never support this establishment again they lost a loyal customer. Advertise correct prices or accommodate the customer a little bit when the error is identified. Nope special for $20.99 is now $35... nope owner says that's my only option . No sir I have plenty of options for over priced chicken . You won't get a dime of my money tho , I'll throw it away first !

Selection from Pick 2 Items on Uber Eats
    Brandon B.

Ordered through Uber Eats. It was a complete cluster. You would think they had never taken an order from Uber eats before. First, I ordered the pick 2. One item I selected was tilapia (2pcs) and gizzards. The other item I selected was traditional wings (4 pcs). When my driver arrived at the store, they informed him that the tilapia and gizzards are 2 separate items. Instead of calling me while they were preparing my order, they waited until he arrived. He was doing a good job by checking the food before leaving with it. My driver called me to tell me this, so he handed the phone to the person working at the store and he told me the same thing. I told him that's ok, make me the gizzards then (since I only ordered that item for the gizzards and they weren't available anywhere else on the menu). He said ok and we disconnected. Not a minute later my driver called back to tell me they were out of gizzards and handed me over again. I told the guy to just make me another order of the wings for my second item. He said ok. A minute later, ANOTHER call to tell me that the manager said no, I could not have the additional wings. I had to take the tilapia. I told them ok, just cancel the order. I attached a photo showing the Uber Eats menu that the tilapia and gizzards were one item. There are other items like that as you can see, as well.

Chicken strips and Catfish Fillet meal.

I ordered via Door Dash but the catfish and chicken was packed well and still warm after a 30 min drive. The catfish was light in color, flaky, not to heavy and fresh. It needed no sauce. Same for the chicken strips, cooked light, could eat straight. Full of flavor and didn't put you to sleep. Fries are nice and light too, not too greasy.

Black, slimy chicken nuggets. Pass. Fries for dinner it is. Disappointed.

***Update*** My husband had the fried catfish. Looked ok. Came home early from work the next day with stomach pain.

    6pc Chicken Wings

If I can rate zero stars I would. I ordered a 6 wing dinner and ALL my wings were black to the bone. I called and stated my issue with the food and the rude lady who answered the phone didn't even offer an apology. Instead, she told me if I wanted my money back or if I wanted to reorder I would need to bring the wings back. Which is quite crazy since I live all the way in Bolingbrook and I don't see why I would need to bring back an order of black bone wings. Are you going to recook and serve them? Maybe. Please do not go here.

We talked to the person there and found it was run by his family, and they do an exceptional job. My wife had the Liberty Cheesesteak with added onions while I had a combo Italian Beef/Italian Sausage sandwich - dipped with added onion, hot pepper and cheese. We also had a side of fries. Both sandwiches were big, which you would expect. The Philly had finely chopped steak with the peppers, onions and cheese all mixed in. My wife said it was fantastic. My combo was incredible. The beef was seasoned perfectly and was clearly not sitting all day in the au-jus (which when talking to the owner afterwards he confirmed was the case). You can always tell this because the meat had a nice texture and was not overly salty, but instead as I stated seasoned and cooked perfectly. Additionally, the fries were well cooked, crisp and hot. They take care to keep the oil fresh and clean, so the fries taste like fries instead of old dirty oil. As an added bonus he even treated my pup to a small dish of ice cream which she enjoyed on a hot day. Fortunately, we showed up a little after the lunch rush and was able to spend a few minutes talking about the business and baseball and our combined hate of the dreaded Dodgers. Even if I don't go back there tomorrow, it's definitely a must stop next time through the area.

We ordered 2 foot long sandwiches, one pastrami and one original cheese steak with cheese whiz on the side, a large cheese fry, and an order of onion rings totaling $58+. Both sandwiches again had no meat on 2 inches of both ends at $18 each. The $8.99 order of onion rings consisted of only 4 small rings & 4 larger rings. The large cheese fry order was re-fried old hand cut fries that were dark brown and smelled like old fryer oil which stunk up my truck all the way home. The cups of cheese whiz had white bubbles in them??? Again, this is my second recent visit with poor quality, stingy amounts of meat and onion rings, burnt re fried French fries in old oil, and gross cheese sauce! Completely unacceptable considering the prices and continued poor practices. I would not recommend takeout unless you inspect each item before leaving because if you call, multiple times, the owner is only there from 10am to 2pm. BTW, he is the one who made my food items. You can go to a nice diner for these prices and enjoy your food. Choose wisely!

Ummmm, no way are you adding an auto tip to my pickup order people. It took us forever to figure out how to remove/modify the tip. I am appalled that you think it's ok to add a tip to an order. As for the food, it was served very hot. Good job there. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious. Not a huge amount of steak on the sandwich. (See pictures, and note how little steak there was compared to the chicken sandwich.). The fries were good. The Buffalo chicken cheesesteak was unbelievably greasy and salty. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly, and there was a generous amount of chicken, cheese, mushrooms, and onions. That being said, it was literally dripping in sauce, which was 95% grease, 5% flavor. I would definitely not order this sandwich again. On a side note, we received a text asking us to complete an online survey. I took the time to do so, and when I hit submit, it asked for THE code they sent us. They did not send us a code, so I could not submit the comment I took the time to write. This place needs to get their act together.

(IT'S) ALWAYS SUNNY IN BOLINGBROOK…read more The spirit of Philly has come to the western suburbs, and with it they've brought their signature cheesesteaks. Charley's is a newcomer to the busy intersection of Boughton & Weber, having taken over a spot previously home to Firehouse Subs (which coincidentally also sold Philly-style cheesesteaks). This location between KO Sushi and a Pearle Vision opened in late April 2023. The buffalo chicken philly ($6.50 for a small) is delicious: sliced chicken, melted provolone, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and hot sauce. I've ordered this twice in as many weeks, and both times I've wolfed it down. One of these days I'll definitely get the Old School Cheesesteak ($8.50). Charley's touts their wings; you can get 6pc regular ($9.50) or 10pc boneless ($10) tossed in your choice of sauce. Options are - from mildest to hottest - sweet teriyaki, garlic parmesan, lemon pepper rub, bold BBQ, Thai chili, Korean BBQ, hot honey, buffalo, and mango habanero. Halfway through dinner the other night, I encountered a big ol' bone (nooooo) in my allegedly boneless wings..... perhaps they should amend this to say "99% bone-free" wings. Few things are worse than expecting a smooth chicky nuggy and chomping down on something sharp and/or brittle. Talk about an appetite killer. I like their style of french fries, simple but satisfying. Try 'em loaded with cheese & bacon ($3.80). The guy who rang up my order was friendly, and even though it took a while for the food to come out, they're a 'hot & new' business with a steady flow of customers, so a wait is to be expected. I cashed in a coupon for $5 off of $20, plus I racked up double points by scanning the QR code via the Charley's mobile app. I've become quite the rewards redeemer as I enter the penny-pinching Scrooge McDuck phase of my life (mid 30's). Every cent saved counts, amirite?? * TL;DR * "Can I offer you a cheesesteak in these trying times?" - Frank Reynolds, probably As much as I enjoy(ed) Charley's buffalo chicken philly, finding a large bone in my boneless wings was a massive turn-off. Needless to say I'm no longer taking any chances, so I'll stick with Bdubs as my preferred provider of boneless wings. You'd hope that a place with 'cheesesteak' in their name would put together a tasty one, and Charley's didn't disappoint. Let's just say I wouldn't have bothered to download their app if I wasn't planning on returning fairly often. Pretty good stuff. Recommended.
