This was my 2nd time visiting Mojo's in the last month. The girl at the counter was pleasant each time. We ordered 2 foot long sandwiches, one pastrami and one original cheese steak with cheese whiz on the side, a large cheese fry, and an order of onion rings totaling $58+. Both sandwiches again had no meat on 2 inches of both ends at $18 each. The $8.99 order of onion rings consisted of only 4 small rings & 4 larger rings. The large cheese fry order was re-fried old hand cut fries that were dark brown and smelled like old fryer oil which stunk up my truck all the way home. The cups of cheese whiz had white bubbles in them??? Again, this is my second recent visit with poor quality, stingy amounts of meat and onion rings, burnt re fried French fries in old oil, and gross cheese sauce! Completely unacceptable considering the prices and continued poor practices. I would not recommend takeout unless you inspect each item before leaving because if you call, multiple times, the owner is only there from 10am to 2pm. BTW, he is the one who made my food items. Went on a Sunday afternoon when it wasn't too busy and ordered 2 cheesesteaks with cheese wiz and were not disappointed. We were so hungry that these definitely filled us up. The bread was so soft and the cheese to meat ratio was perfect! The fries were the perfect side. The staff were super friendly and quick with taking our order and even brought us our food. Gosh, I'm so sad today this place just isn't the same as it used to be. Since moving to the west coast, returning here for a cheesesteak was definitely a high priority. Minimal differences from my last visits but certainly took the mouthwatering magic out of the experience. The cheesesteak used to be perfection, this time the onions were still crunchy, the provolone (no I don't get cheese wiz) was slathered on top of the bun. The crab fries were hardly seasoned which considering a $1.25 up charge for old bay seasoning, like bruh be generous wit da spice! They also changed the ranch dressing which used to be a beautiful blend of buttermilk ranch, now it tastes like a concession stand sized tub of spiced mayonnaise. Considering the cost is not on the low end and the disappointment was real - I likely will not return. If it's your first experience you may truly enjoy it, but if you are an OG customer you'll likely be let down. When I saw they make roast pork sammies, I wanted to try this place. It's across the street so if I like the food then I'll come more often. There was plenty of seating and no line. I ordered papa's roast pork sammie and mojo's cheesesteak. I tried the crab fries as well. Crab fries were unfortunately overly salty, I didn't even finish all of it. This place use to be great to get one of there sandwich's because of the care and attention to details on every sandwich. Well today I had to pay that premium of almost $20 for one and all I asked was please no onions and what they did is put barley any cheese on the sandwich ,but about a full shredded size onion on my sandwich. I was craving a HOAGIE, I started searching for places that sold them and this place came up. I checked out the menu and the reviews and thought this would be a good fit for me. We ordered "The Momo" & " The Meatball Sandwich". The Momo is supposed to be a Hoagie with Tuna. Unfortunately the large sandwiches are Not packed with meat and cheese, but instead are rather light compared to their East coast counterparts. we called in an order to pick up for 3 sandwiches, but they only gave us 2 orders of fries. had to wait while they made more fries. unfortunately the fries didn't not taste fresh. they're hand cut, but hard, just not good. they should take a tip from Sweet and Savory Spot, who has the best hand cut, made to order fries around. Mojo's East Coast Eats is the new King of the Cheesesteak in the Chicago suburbs! They make outstanding sandwiches that make you feel like you're actually in Philly! While in the area we stopped by for lunch and weren't disappointed. We went with the standard cheesesteak (with whiz, of course), as my go-to litmus test for any new spot is to get what they do best. And "best" is the perfect way to describe this cheesesteak. It was the perfect ratio of meat-to-bread, topped with delicious molten whiz, and a SIZABLE portion. Not to mention that each one comes with fries, of which I opted for the "Crab Fries" (which was fries with Old Bay Seasoning - AMAZING). We washed it all down with some Hank's Root Beers, because why not?! Creating and serving all this goodness was a staff that was friendly and genuinely appreciative of our business. They take their time crafting their sandwiches but it wasn't a bother because no one else was in for an early lunch like us. Sadly we don't make it down this way as often as we'd like but I can see making a special trip when the taste for a cheesesteak pops up - there is NO WHERE else I want to go for a cheesesteak sandwich in the Chicagoland area than Mojo's from here on out. read more

To charge $20 for a meatball sandwich sets expectations really high, and sadly I don't think I would have been happy paying half that price for this meal. The meatballs were barely over room temperature, the bread chewy and the flavor totally lacking. I tried to order online ahead of time but it said it would take 40 minutes so I drove there in person to find the place empty. I ordered in person and waited about 10 minutes. Not a reviewer, but after my 5th or 6th visit - most recently today on Super Bowl Sunday when the Eagles are in the Super bowl (time for Philly Cheesesteak right?) now's the time to provide some feedback: The cheesesteaks have always been really good and very authentic. My cheesesteak today was just as good as the last time I was there (more than 2years ago). That said, the in-store experience has always been a drag. Whether it's ordering from a person who seems overwhelmed with taking an order (weird, especially those times when I'm the only one in the store) to waiting way too long for a cheesesteak to be made, bagged and given to me. What's been consistent over the years is poor communication between back of the house (kitchen) and the customer facing part of the store. Making a cheesesteak should not take a minimum of 15 mins, yet that has been my experience every time at Mojo's, even when I'm the only person there. It's easy to blame the staffing when one sees many employees moving around in a place. Can't do that when it's just two dudes like it is here. To be accurate, on a few visits there have been as many as four or five people working there, but have not seen more than two people at a time there since the pandemic. In summary, if you are in a hurry skip this place. If you have an hour to sit down and enjoy your meal, then give it a shot. After trying them 3x. They food can be salty! Mainly their fries, but their "bread winner" phyilly cheese steak sandwich is also a tad salty too. I enjoyed and appreciated the shaved sliced meat vs the thick chopped meat that I've gotten at other places. Do yourselves a favor and order the half sandwiches as they are more than enough! As I get older my taste buds have changed. The whiz cheese I thought would be like "yeah childhood" all over again... but didn't hit me. I'll be willing to try it with the other two cheese options they have though. The meat itself was good. I kind of see them as an artisan "subway" that support and gives back to the community. We've been big Mojo's fans since they opened. However, our last visit will be our last. The prices for what you get are simply unaffordable. I will splurge for a nice meal, but not for a to go sandwich and fries. One cheesesteak sandwich is now $17.99. A kids ham sandwich meal is $13.99 and a plain kids hot dog meal is $12.99. They took the kids cheesesteak off of the kids menu all together...and it's a cheesesteak place! My kids used to like to go there and enjoy a mini cheesesteak on a frisbee, but this time I didn't let them order a kids meal because I was not about to pay $26 for two plain hot dogs! It's a shame. I'm wondering if it's true from the other Yelp reviews that it was sold to new owners recently. While I enjoy the fresh cut fries, my cheesesteak was just ok, too much whiz. The sandwiches here are really good, and big too. I'm one of those people who likes their sandwiches very basic, almost boring. I got the philly steak, with just cheese. The meat is very flavorful and the boardwalk fries are my all time favorite. With Covid, we got a pickup order. No problems with that either. I will go back here again when it reopens, assuming our world assumes a semi normal condition. They did not have soup when I went, but I'm sure the menu was somewhat limited.
