Several chicken and cheesesteak options for everyone. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The chicken teriyaki is my favorite.

(IT'S) ALWAYS SUNNY IN BOLINGBROOK The spirit of Philly has come to the western suburbs, and with it they've brought their signature cheesesteaks. Charley's is a newcomer to the busy intersection of Boughton & Weber, having taken over a spot previously home to Firehouse Subs (which coincidentally also sold Philly-style cheesesteaks). This location between KO Sushi and a Pearle Vision opened in late April 2023. The buffalo chicken philly ($6.50 for a small) is delicious: sliced chicken, melted provolone, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and hot sauce. I've ordered this twice in as many weeks, and both times I've wolfed it down. One of these days I'll definitely get the Old School Cheesesteak ($8.50). Charley's touts their wings; you can get 6pc regular ($9.50) or 10pc boneless ($10) tossed in your choice of sauce. Options are - from mildest to hottest - sweet teriyaki, garlic parmesan, lemon pepper rub, bold BBQ, Thai chili, Korean BBQ, hot honey, buffalo, and mango habanero. Halfway through dinner the other night, I encountered a big ol' bone (nooooo) in my allegedly boneless wings..... perhaps they should amend this to say "99% bone-free" wings. Few things are worse than expecting a smooth chicky nuggy and chomping down on something sharp and/or brittle. Talk about an appetite killer. I like their style of french fries, simple but satisfying. Try 'em loaded with cheese & bacon ($3.80). The guy who rang up my order was friendly, and even though it took a while for the food to come out, they're a 'hot & new' business with a steady flow of customers, so a wait is to be expected. I cashed in a coupon for $5 off of $20, plus I racked up double points by scanning the QR code via the Charley's mobile app. I've become quite the rewards redeemer as I enter the penny-pinching Scrooge McDuck phase of my life (mid 30's). Needless to say I'm no longer taking any chances, so I'll stick with Bdubs as my preferred provider of boneless wings. You'd hope that a place with 'cheesesteak' in their name would put together a tasty one, and Charley's didn't disappoint. Good quality of meat and meat portions. The bread is tasty too. I got the old school Philly. It was like nacho cheese was mixed in, I wasn't really a fan of the cheese. Plus I got cheese fries so it really was an overkill on cheese. I'm going to come again and get a different cheese on it. I would love if they could get white American as an option. I'm not big on cheesesteaks, so I've ordered chicken sandwiches the 2 times I've tried this place. The chicken has kind of a weird shredded texture that is unappealing to me. The first time I ordered, I tried the cheese fries, but they weren't very good. I tried the seasoned fries, and those were better, but the fries were a bit soggy still. My favorite part of the meal is their fruit lemonades. They are very good, but I don't know that I'll return just for a good lemonade. read more

Trying Charleys for the 1st time today! I cannot say I was satisfied with my purchase. The service I got was horrible, no recommendations she just kept smiling and waiving at her boo sittin in the restaurant. I placed my order and while waiting watched her handle money then bag order answer Her cell phone and adjust her hat all wit the same gloves on. Major RED flag!!! I got my meal and the only thing I enjoyed were the fries. This was NOT a cheesesteak they barely had meat or any of the peppers, then threw a slice of provolone on top that didn't melt creamy at all. Philly cheesesteak with all the toppings is pretty good. It's not greasy and so it tasted more of a healthy version. Ingredients were freshed. The fries are the thick cut versions. They had a few tables with 2 chairs each, so not really for big groups to eat at. Many were takeout or pickup orders. read more

I really wanted to love this place since I love cheesesteaks! It doesn't compare to Mojos or Jersey Mike's. I honestly would just prefer Subway for the price and satisfaction. Don't get me wrong, I will order from here again mainly because of the location and app promotions. The prices are comparable to a jersey Mike's and not as expensive as Mojos. The fries and wings were nothing special, but the lemonade was good. If you want a decent cheesesteak, order from Charleys. If you are looking for an authentic Philly Cheese, Mojos is the choice! read more

We were simply passing through Bolingbrook and spotted Charley's on the map. Ordered my usual chicken teriyaki ... I don't know what they did back there, but the sandwich was Amazing! We placed an order online for pickup. It appears they do not have a way to keep food warm as it was barely room temperature by the time we got it home, even tho we live less than a mile away and went to get it right after placing the order. The bread was not toasted at all. My husband asked for no tomatoes and they still put tomatoes on. It's not overly greasy, so that's a plus in my book. Overall, it was edible but not somewhere I'll order from again. read more

Just tried Charlie's today and it was really good! I had a regular Philly Cheese steak and fries. Next time I'm ordering the classic one so I get sautéed onions and cheese the proper way. read more

I was craving a cheesesteak and stopped by this place today. I thought the food was good and the service was pretty fast. It's a nice clean restaurant with plenty drink choices to choose from. I also had boneless buffalo wings they were really good I liked the flavor and my kids loved everything..next time I will try the chicken teriyaki sandwich. read more

Bread was too mushy and sandwiches were very sloppy. Ordered a large combo with Cajun fries. Very few fries compared to other places. Dining area is absolutely frigid, please get your heat fixed or turn it up! Found this place by chance and gave it a try, overall opinion, meh. read more

Really gross- we ordered an original cheesesteak and another version - Both were really slimy, mostly grease, no meat and I ended up throwing out most of mine. Made the mistake of ordering mozz sticks as well- they give you a little marinara container with a pull back lid- it tasted like nothing I'd ever want to eat again. Charley's has quickly become one of my favorite food places. The quality and portions are great. The food is delicious. I get the steak Philly cheesesteak and add jalapeños (theirs are the perfect level of heat). I recently tried the buffalo and sweet Thai chili wings which were tasty and perfectly sized. My order is always correct and the workers are super nice. I've had nothing but good food and positive experiences here. read more

Well the first thing that I had noticed was the lady they had it taking orders had a very very heavy accent and I could not communicate with her. I asked her if their wings were breaded and she said yes so I was going to order rings but then I look at the pictures of things and the wings are not breaded so I asked her are you sure your wings are breaded. She said yes. I said they're not breaded in the picture. Then she said no. And then there are a couple other issues. So I've never been here before so I ordered just the six piece nuggets. That should be enough for a meal for me. So I come to find it's not enough for a meal for me. These nuggets are so tiny. This is the average size of my six wings. So truly I had about eight bites of a six piece nugget. I feel there's just a bit overpriced for what you get. read more

Wow. Great experience. We got carry out. Our 1st time here. Wasn't expecting much but everything was excellent. Super friendly staff. Place was busy and our order was ready by the quoted time (7 minutes from when we ordered). Food was delicious. The Philly rolls were soft and very tasty. Will definitely go back. read more

Ordered the bacon cheesesteak with everything on it. Very flavorful and love that it's not just plain. Fries were ok . Price was decent if your looking to only get the sandwich. You can't really eat inside since they only have two tables but the service was quick. Overall, I would come back. read more

Mixed review. BAD PART Tried Charley's Cheesesteak in Bolingbrook for first Time. Got home and discovered THEY FORGOT THE CHEESE SAUCE on our giant Old School Cheesesteak! CHEESE - First part of the name of their company AND sandwich! Bummer. However, GOOD #1:Called and they said they'd give us two free ones next time we come.in. I hope it's that easy. Plus, the bread was wonderful and the steak was tasty and tender. Needed much more onion though. We got just a couple of pieces. GOOD #2: They are new, and all SO NICE. I wish them the best of success and know this is probably just new store opening pains. Looking forward to trying the sandwich as it was meant to taste. read more

... when I saw it was a Charlie's opening up near by I kinda got excited but to my shock it was a major disappointment. They were very stingy with the the meat. I kid you not, i literally could shifted all the meat to one side of the bun and it would be good enough for one decent bite then all the meat would be gone. And on top of that it was expensive. Once you go in and see the owners & who's running it, you'll see why they are being so stingy. Save your time and money and go to the Charlie's in the malls. read more

This place is great! The cheese steaks are on point. No skimping here on the meats. Had the classic cheesesteak and the Philly cheesesteak.Wings are large and full of flavor. Buffalo, bbq and Korean sauces are my favorites to date. Look forward to the next visit. read more
