I surpringliy enjoyed my flight with Cathay from LAX to HK. The 14-hr flight with assigned seat almost towards the back of the plane really made me questioned why I never thought to treat myself with more comfort with larger leg room or better class tickets..but it was hard to ditch my frugality..so I attacked through with the ticket and boarded the plane...ready to be tortured through an arduous flight. But..to my surprise, the flight was not full at all amd I got the whole roll of 3 seats to myself! So..I really enjoyed my comfort tp be able to lay flat and move around so easily on my flight! The staff were kind. They were happy to help with anything. I would say...it was a great flight and traveling with Cathay for the first time from LAX through Hong Kong was a good experience for me! read more

When considering the best airlines in the world, Cathay Pacific comes in at number three. In my opinion it is undoubtedly, one of the two best Asian Airlines in the world. While there are numerous airlines that fly to Southeast Asia from LAX, Cathay is one my two favorite options that I travel on, when visiting that region. I never travel on American carriers. They cannot even come close. There's a reason why they never make the most revered Sky Trax best airlines lists. In the case of Cathay, you have to go via Hong Kong (HKG), when traveling to most destinations from LAX. In a span of one year, I have done the LAX to HKG route twice, both in the Business cabin. What surprised me, was that while the service was still stellar, warm and very hospitable, the on board dining menu was almost exactly the same. The choices to order the main dish before hand, are still very limited and lack luster. And important to note, you're not getting something unique, because most of the dishes are on the general menu. Only here, you are guaranteed your choice when you order in advance. The competition approaches this important food avenue differently. Imagine traveling this route for work monthly or several times in a year with Cathay, with no variety. Having said that, I chose the same dishes as before, for the two hot meals on the almost 14-hour LAX to HKG flight . Spicy prawns with choy sum for supper and the western choice of scrambled eggs for breakfast. Both dishes did not disappoint and were spectacular. I have to say the scrambled eggs were even better than the last time. Soft, fluffy, silky and melting in your mouth. The small tomatoes still on the vine (see my pictures), burst with flavor in your mouth. Accompanying smashed avocado was fantastic. A splendid touch, to a beautiful meal finale, before landing in Hong Kong. read more

Flight from Hkng to Toronto today. I've asked for bottled water three times from three stewardess in a span of 2 hours. All said they would look and come back to confirm. Crickets! (nobody came back). A male steward even have the audacity to throw tantrum when I refused tap water. Who offers tap water in a plane? Meal was also served 1.5 hours before landing. 20 minutes before landing, they are still collecting trays, by hand, from passengers. Very unsafe. Not your best performance to date. Also, not coming back to passengers after confirming to look into it is unprofessional. read more

Worst customer service ever!!!! Specially their frequent fryer program asia miles . Sent them my passport copy to make name correction on my membership, I can see the correct name on my profile but still they issued my redemption ticket with the wrong name. Called and emailed them so many times , refused to correct the ticket unless paid the change fees read more

It is a lousy service. They booked me on 4/19 time .030 flight. I thought to check in at 8:30 on 4/19 and fly at 12:30 am. They did not explained to me to check in 4/18 midnight. So I missed the flight. I booked another flight a week later and had to pay $258 for penalty. The receptionist is a Filipino with a thick accent. Then the line got disconnected three times. I never want to fly Cathay Pacific Airlines anymore. read more

This is one of the 3 dishes I had on my flight from Manila to Hong Kong and then to Los Angeles. They have a great menu, and the servings are ample. From a perspective of comfort, I'd say their planes are nice, though the flight attendants are 50-50. Some passengers may tend to over recline their seats, but thnis is not the airlines fault. They provide blankets and pillows, which is good cos other airlines like Cebu Pac fail to do this. Overall, I would recommend them especially if you prefer an airline with good after sales support for adjusting or canceling one legs of your flight, too. read more

This airline was good maybe 10-15 years ago. It's only gotten worse and worse since then. Our flight was delayed 2 hours, making people with connecting flights miss their transfer and us late to my fiance's surprise engagement party. So people were waiting for us to arrive for over 2 hours!!! Never flying Cathay again! read more

Have had 10 plus long haul fights in Asia Pacific from LAX and this round-trip was the worst. Poor service after meals with passengers having to remove their meal remnants to the galley before cabin crew finally began retrieving them. Inability for pilots to avoid constant and sometimes moderate air turbulence. Infotainment system malfunctioned on the way to Hong Kong so 14 hours nada. Multiple security screenings at HKI for connecting flights after screening at origin (at security transfer and at gate). Multiple passengers talking loudly at 2am onwards while most of us trying to sleep. read more

So far the online experience has been awful. The website is terrible and the online help is nonexistent. I have booked my tickets, one of the flights got changed, but there was no email or text, I found out when it was a red sign next to the flight (saying cancelled!) when I logged on just to check something else. This is my first experience on this airline. One hears about the glamour of Hong Kong! ..... what happened to the airline? read more

Last month we traveled from Los Angeles to Tokyo via Hongkong with this airline. we were in the Premium Economy Class. Cathay Pacific is not the same at it was some twenty years back. The service was the issue I noticed. The cabin crew in all the four flight we took was not passenger friendly. Mo smile, no interaction, no acknowledgement. They were just pre occupied with their duties. The seats were old and not comfortable. The food was okay but not the best. I will not travel on this airline anymore. There are better choices out there. read more

I flew from Los Angeles to Mumbai with layover in Hong Kong. Good: The flight was on schedule. Food was fine. Bad: 3 items from my check-in bag were stolen. And the bag was locked with a TSA lock. :( When I got home and opened my bag, I found that the box for my new iPhone was stolen. Thankfully, I was carrying the iPhone with me. And a bottle of Biotin and Refresh Eye-drops were stolen. Speculation: Did they see the iPhone box thru the scanner and opened the bag to steal it. Then grabbed whatever items were conveniently located at the top of the bag. We may never know. read more

I used to be a fan of Cathay Pacific for its nice services, clean and decent foods , but too bad it was long ago, I just want to try again in Nov 2023 and it really upside down, i have to say the rating should be the worst!!! Old air plane, seat was flat that I can feel the bottom, small, bad and bad foods, service really from the third world country the airport in HK with a bunch of un professional services with plenty of agents who stop to people at the boarding gate with very stupid questions and behaviors..... never again ! read more

Diverted from HK to TPE, only to sit on tarmac for 3hrs while a crew from HK flys to get us and fly us back to HK. Can't make this up. Rookie airline, with horrible inflight service, and crew. Airline has no concept of customer care and support. No longer flying this amateur airline. read more

It's convenient flying with Cathay Pacific to Asia, however, the check-in attendants are rude and inefficient to help you get through the boarding process. There's no clear sign for boarding groups in front of the gate, all classes are mixed up and such a chaotic mess, pretty terrible start for a long flight. read more

The flight had all guests board, but we waited two hours inside CX 883 waiting for the plane to be fixed. This completely made our entire family's connection via Cathay Pacific to Taipei to be missed, and ruined our entire planned visit. We feel very traumatized. We purchased two 4th class roundtrip tickets to SEA via Hongkong and received 5th class service. Nevermind the tickets costs in excess of $1200 each. The worst was the 1-2 punch of 1: every single seat was filled on all flights while 2: seats spacing could be measured in mm's. The food was surely unrankable as any non packaged part (aka the "meal") was wholly disposed upon serving. Why do they bother and add to their costs? No AC outlets, the USB power didn't work, and any internet access costs $10 for one hour on a 14-hour flight. The reading lights were aimed at random places. One poor passenger next to me (in the 4-seat middle section) had two lights all the way from the 3-seat window section directly aimed at her face, which required waking up six people to reach the lights to adjust, post two hours of suffering . My own light as aiming to 1.5 seats over from me. Even after getting all the in-between people up, the seats are so close it was not possible to stand up straight to reach the lights. pray for long arms to reach then sitting down! I give them is one star for actually completing the trip on the junk that passes for airplanes made by Boeing and the attendants were polite and efficient. We made the same trip about five years ago on the same airline, which provided actually good service for the same class seats. I suppose this is what happens when communism takes over anything. Avoid the thrills-n-spills of riding death traps made by Boeing and not least, avoid enriching the CCP and go for Singapore Air, since United was about as bad in 2023, but somehow that wasn't too surprising. read more

The service and attitude of the staff is the absolute worst. They speak in a condescending tone and act like they hate their jobs. I know they are being paid poorly but that is not the customer's fault. They wouldn't even get me water and said wait until meal time. Do not fly this airline... overpriced with budget service. Not the same airline any more... the best people there are all gone. read more

lady hostesses were kind, my flight on 27th november from hong kong to la. a host named pulca orpulco pulna was rude and arrogant man, i asked him for 2 beer tasting and he said laughingly uh oh i can only give u one, i felt embarrassed seeing his behaviour and then my plate was done after dfinner i asked pulca to take it pls, he replied one moment and never came back, after 20 mins of waiting stewardess passed by i asked her pls take my tray and she did happily, this pulca is rude arrogant man and i think complexed, never again will i fly this airline ever never again read more

In my 20 years+ experience flying with Cathay Pacific Airways has been both bitter and sweet, bitter for the most part... they used to be good, really good! And unfortunately, in the recent years, due to their poor investment decision in the fuels industry, they have been losing big money since, cutting costs and staffs, making the seats smaller and cramping more PAX into the plane were inevitable. Thus CX's reputation has been free falling from a luxury brand to an incompetent overpriced budgeted airliner. When your comfort goes down, their share price goes up. Economy Class: Cathay Pacific has the worse seat configuration among all the long haul flights in the whole wide world, their seats are really narrow and small, Urban legend says only Asians can fit in there, but in reality, only small children and midgets could fit into the seat comfortably. The back slide design is the root of all evils, very un-ergonomic, especially after a 12+ hours long haul flight, it's certain that one should seek a chiropractor for adjustment right after the flight, so your lower body doesn't become permanently damaged and paralyze due to bad sitting postures. From LA TO HK, cost of a round trip ticket is around USD $700 to $1200. Premium Economy Class: Many people find Premium Economy class very excited when it first rolled out a few years ago, yet, their size and width of the seats were just considered the standard and exactly how a regular Economy seat should be sized in the other part of the world. From LA TO HK, cost of a round trip ticket is around USD $1,500 to $2,500 Business Class: So, the only good thing I am able to talk about Cathay Pacific Airways is their Business Class, I am sure their first class is just as good if not better, but I can't confirm that, becoz I havn't got an offer to fly first class on CX yet, maybe one of these days, CX can invite me to fly their first class for free, i'll then reconsider changing their rating... The Business class seats are arranged in fish bone configuration fashion, definitely have a lot more personal space and private area compare to the economy class. Seats are adjustable where they can be set to sitting position ,completely flat like a bed and everything in between. I really appreciate their pillows and comforters, they are very soft and comfy. The foods were more than edible, their quality surpassed my in-fiight meal expectation. From LA TO HK, cost of a round trip ticket is around USD $6,500 to $12,000 read more

We took a quick weekend trip to San Francisco. the flight went to Oakland and SF was a quick 20 minute uber ride. This flight was actually more cost effective than first class on a highly rated airline. Love that! Plenty of leg room on the flight. Just an FYI the seats afe in a 2/1 configuration and are a bit smaller than standard 1st class on a commercial airline but not dealing with long security lines and crowded lounges was definitely worth it! The App is very smooth for booking just like other airlines with the exception that you can't go back a step when booking. If you want to change something you have to start all over. The staff was very nice upon arrival we dropped our bags and showed our IDs and sat on the lounge with drinks while we waited. Both the indoor and outdoor lounges are very comfy with plenty of seating!(couches cubby chairs high tables etc. ) Be sure to arrive no less than 20-30 minutes before your flight departure.

I know a lot of people have a lot of complaints about Delta Airlines. But, you have to keep everything in perspective with all domestic carriers. They're all pretty much the same. They all try to do a good job. But, sometimes problems arise. Hopefully that won't happen to you. Personally, I've never had any real issues with Delta Airlines First Class. Sure, sometimes the flights are a bit delayed, but they've never been massively delayed or anything like that. That's a good thing. In terms of service, I really recommend that you fly First Class on Delta Airlines. Sure, it's not anything near International First Class. That's a completely different ball game. But, flying domestic first class really gives you a bit of an advantage. First of all, you get to board the plane first. Meaning, you're allowed to get to your seat, put your bag away, and sit back and relax while all the other passengers struggle to find their seat and a place to put their carry-on luggage. In terms of what they offer for food and drink, it's all complementary. Is it great food? No, not really. It's pretty much what can be expected. But, it is a step above economy class, and certainly you don't have to pay for it. This is the same with their drink menu. Anything you want to drink, alcohol included, they provide to you for free. Plus, you do get a considerably larger seat than the ones they offer in economy class. Overall, as with all flights, you just have to be prepared to accept what's going to happen. Certainly, we all want the best experience possible. And, for the most part, Delta Airlines has never let me down. But, you have to be willing to roll with the punches. The best way to do that, I believe, is to fly Delta First Class. It really takes a lot of the edge off the trip, and makes the whole flying experience a whole lot better.

Many of our senior citizens in wheelchairs were allowed first and there were a lot of staff who facilitated the departure protocols. The flight was very smooth with some bumpy ride along the mid-flight but seems comparably similar with any other flights I've taken everywhere. The stewards and stewardesses seemed not so sweet and focused, not the usual, can we offer you something"? I'd say, it's probably cultural although this are just observations on my part, since this time, I bought an economy class ticket during the last minute. Eva Air has the best food compared to other airlines that fly the SEA route, chicken pasta, Chinese-style cooking and a comprehensive fruits and sandwich galore accompanied our meals. The timeline for serving food and snacks was perfect, not so late nor early, just about right. They also seem to recognize our need to sleep and allowed quiet and dark during our flight and bathrooms were also clean and fully packed with everything we needed. One observation is the wide seats and better spacing of their plane compared to other Asian airlines, who pack their seats and seem very tight and skimpy. The stay over transition was alright although they (Eva Airlines transition staff) keep asking for printed tickets in Taiwan when some of us had difficulty activating our phones to show them our online boarding tickets. Since passengers aren't able to access anywhere, they should have a better way of not trying make us feel, we have to painstakingly look for a WiFi access (was too weak for an international airport and inconvenient to those travelers just passing by) to be able to show them our boarding tickets again! Our transfer trip wasn't too bad as we safely landed in Manila on time as scheduled, and smoothly.
