Friendly, cosy place with at least 4 group settings. Today there are two small groups sitting around two large rooms tables that can handle 10 or 12 people. Conversations are all around you. One group is some sort of organization working on a project. The other is a local gentleman's group that gathers here every so often. These are just guesses. I had latte and a sausage fold over that is just a pastry folded over light amount of ground sausage, providing slightly sweet and savory taste. Very nice. read more

I've come here lots over the years, and must say that it probably has the best ambiance out of all the restaurants in Scap. Really cozy vibe with nice music, and the staff have always been friendly in my experience. I typically get the london fog which is always really good. Their pastries are also super good! Cathedral gets 4 stars because the coffee itself was prepared well and tasty. My husband's drink wasn't the right one but it was still good so he just kept it. The pastry was nice. The atmosphere was chill with plenty of seating. The barista that made our coffee was kind and responsive. To best capture our experience with the person at the register, I recommend you watch a Instagram Reel or TikTok skit on Gen Z customer service--Yuri Lamasbella Godinez does a hilarious re-enactment. I don't know if the person at the register was Gen Z but it's all in good fun and it made us giggle after. Overall Cathedral Coffee seems to be worth it for the good coffee. read more

SCAPPOOSE!! I needed a cup of coffee, a cappuccino to be exact. We rolled through this little town and while expectations were low, we wandered into a diamond in the rough. First of all...GREAT COFFEE. The entry and dining room were decorated with a lot of wood, however, the thing that grabbed my attention was the book book. Came in, waited in line, when I got to the counter, no one said anything to me for at least 3 minutes. One guy was boxing up baked treats and completely ignored me. Finally, I got to order and paid $6.75 for a drink. About 5 minutes later he came and time me they were out of that drink. (Uh, how do you run out of white chocolate?) I got something else and when it came, it was literally lukewarm and not very tasty. I wanted to like this shop so much, but I won't be back. read more

Stopped by on our way back to Portland from St Helens. I needed a pick me up and was excited to try it out after seeing the great reviews. I was not disappointed!! The guy working was super friendly and made an awesome drink. I noticed they had a seasonal s'mores mocha available so I had to try it. I wasn't sure if it would taste as good as it sounded but it definitely did! The subtle graham cracker flavor worked very well with the coffee and he even toasted a few marshmallows on top! Overall it was a great experience and I'm glad we stopped. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area. read more

Easily one of my favorite coffee spots, ever. The coffee is strong, the food is good, the ambiance is easy. Pop in your AirPods and get to work on their wifi in a corner and not feel bothered/distracted. Or come and have a mom date while your littles hang out on the couch. Or meet a few people for a quick work meeting and use their large tables. It's a really well thought out layout that can cater to all your important coffeehouse needs. I do wish they'd offer the orange cardamom latte as a year round staple, but I guess I'll just have to look forward to the winter season for it! read more

It's a lovely place with a nice ambiance, plenty of seating, inviting and comfy. Latte was just ok for me. By the time they called my name it cooled down significantly, was just warm which wasn't as enjoyable as when it's served immediately. Barista took rather long time to make it. Perhaps they were doing other tasks in the middle of my latte :) I haven't tried the pastries but visually I didn't find whatever was there appetizing. Flavor of the latte wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Hopefully next time it's a better experience. read more

This is an amazing company that has an amazing service. I am working out of the state and needed to get some food for the staff. I have had Cathedral's quiche and it was amazing. When I was talking to the owner he said they no longer had that item. I told him what was going on and he stopped what he was doing went to another company to pick up food and took it to the staff of the company I work for. He did not hesitate to say " I will pick it up and deliverer it for you". I appreciated him and knowing that the Cathedral has amazing coffee and food and that he was willing to support me and other businesses just shows you what an amazing company this is. This coffee did kick in a little quicker if ya know what I mean For a 12 oz., it took a minute to get down with all the flavor; creamy af & melting in my mouth goodness. NOT A BIG MENU! Simply the best. Don't know what I'd do without them. They've set the bar at the very top in terms of beverage quality and consistency, and also happy and friendly baristas. I know everyone by name and a bit about most of them. Can't say that for most (any other) coffee shops. It really levels up the experience to feel like you're going to see a friend instead of a disgruntled or even just transactional barista. My husband and I travel to Portland once a month from the Greater Seattle area. We have gotten so burnt out on traveling the Interstate that we have been going through Longview, WA and down US-30E. Amazingly found Cathedral Coffee in Scappoose via YELP. What a wonderful place. Hubby needs GF (gluten-free) eats and Chai Tea Lattes. I like espresso lattes. They always have wonderful employees who are helpful and friendly. And we sometimes just grab one of their pastries or baked goods to eat in the hotel later or for breakfast in the morning. That's if we've already had our latte and are full of caffeine. Otherwise, their drinks have always been fantastic. read more

My boyfriend and I came here this morning for a cup of coffee and we really enjoyed it. He had a vanilla latte and I had the pumpkin spice latte. It was super yummy and loved that it wasn't super sweet even with the whip. He really enjoyed his as well but did say it was a little bit on the sweet side. The employees that took our order were super friendly and had our drinks really fast and they were hot and delicious! They were a little bit in the busy side it looked like but that have a bunch of seating and all different types for whatever you prefer (benches, bars, couches, etc) and even a couple tables outside. We also got the turnover and it was yummy. A little on the dry side but I think that's normal for turnovers. Overall still yummy and I'd order it again. What a stellar little gem of a coffeeshop. Did not expect to find something like this in Scappoose. They've created a cool space that has sort of an intellectual, community, industrial/urban vibe done well. Today they were using beans from an Australian roaster, Proud Mary, that apparently opened a roasting shop in Portland, and it's competitively tasty as compared to the Portland roasting scene. According to the barista, they've been using Proud Mary for at least a while now. Two major standouts from my visit this morning we're A) Totally delicious homemade granola bar, and B ) the Rockstar awesome Barista-kid. Homemade granola bar was fantastic, enough so that I might try to order a quantity of them for a morning meeting sometime. Only area I would appreciate some improvement would be to see more variety in the baked goods option- particularly a coffee cake of some sort and maybe another bread option beyond banana. The barista kid working today, maybe a high school student or young college guy, was incredibly well-spoken, composed, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable about their products well beyond the standard marketing collateral. I asked for detailed information and opinions about the baked goods, coffee roaster, and coffee beans and he provided way more than I expected in a very polished and genuine delivery as if he actually understood and enjoyed his job and the products/service they provide. He also made a great latte. He's got a bright future ahead, keep cultivating great employees like that and don't lose him. read more

I used to live right behind the Cathedral Coffee in Portland and when some friends and I were heading to Halloweentown in Saint Helens, we came across this location! It had an amazing atmosphere and lots of seating. I ordered a hot chocolate and my friends ordered coffee, all of which was delicious! The vegan brownie was also yummy! Staff were friendly and service was fast. Definitely recommend coming here! read more

This coffee shop is located in Scappoose off the beaten path. Aside from Starbucks in St Helens, this place is the only other coffee shop that you can sit down at in the county. (Sad). It's never crowded when I come in the place so you can always find seating. The coffee is fantastic. One of the top 3 I have had in my life. Anyhow, I highly recommend this place for coffee. I can't speak if any of the other drinks since I order black coffee but overall this place is great! read more
