Terrible experience and would never return. There were several disappointments when going to this shop to get bridesmaids dresses with my sisters party. First, the person showing us dresses was having difficulty knowing how to use the measuring tape. At one point, we had two different workers measuring each bridesmaid due to inconsistent measuring. Secondly when checking out, they provided the entire group with inconsistent and misleading information on when the dresses would arrive and when they would be ordered. Two workers at the front desk informed us that we could pay for half of the price today and the rest of the amount later. Due to one braidsmaid moving out of state we asked multiple times if the dress would arrive in advance of the wedding in July. They told us multiple times that the dresses were guaranteed to be here by May. As half of the party proceeding to leave the building after paying half, another coworker came to the front desk randomly and tells us that the dresses will not be ordered today and will not be ordered from the shop until each dress is paid in full. She goes on to say that if we only pay half today, we could come back to pay the rest in full but it would not arrive in May but would come in late June. Wedding is early July. She went on to say that it was their new policy. When asked about where this policy was so I could read it as it was not included in the policy I signed when paying for the dress, she could not find it. She went on to day that this new ordering policy is not written down and just became in effect. She couldn't provide me with the date of when this new policy started. As half of the braidsmaids had already left at this point after paying half, we had to call them back to pay in full as the two front workers gave us wrong information. We also had to call two other braidsmaid to pay the rest over the phone as they had picked out dresses weeks prior and were told the dresses would be ordered the same day the paid half. That was not the case and their dresses were not ever ordered. Worst experience ever. read more

Tried posting this on Facebook as well but it's not showing up...explains the 5 star reviews I guess. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but I just did not have a good experience here. From the moment me and my friend walked in it was awkward and there was a weird vibe. One of the ladies (not my consultant) was GLARING at me. When my friend said something, she said she was staring at my shirt and it was really pretty (I was in a cropped cami, I'm not dumb. She was judging). The dress selection is verrryy small. The dresses are all very similar. If you like one dress there, you'll probably like them all. If you don't like a dress, then you won't like ANY. My consultant was nice but I felt she wasn't really listening or looking at what I wanted. I had sent my Pinterest board and none of the dresses were similar at all...it may be because there weren't any dresses in the store like I wanted but maybe say that? Idk. I was disappointed in every dress I tried on. My favorite of the bunch I would never wear because you could see the pads in it. Not the stores fault, that's the designer. But still. My friend saw someone else be handed one of those small bottles of water. She asked my consultant for some water when she had a second and my consultant just kinda looked at her and was like "I'll see if we have anything in the back" she never got her water. Even if the other party had paid for the VIP experience and THATS why they got water, it's water. It's not good or champagne. If you want me to spend $1500+ on a dress, get my damn friend some water. I had mentioned I wanted my measurements taken before the dresses because I wanted to get a better idea of my body type. My consultant said we would take them after. At the end of my appointment I had mentioned it again and she said we would take the measurements up front. Not a huge deal, it just felt really bizarre to not just take them in the back fitting room. I was basically put in the same dress every time. Spaghetti straps and lace galore, which is not what I want. This part is a little on me, because it felt so personal if I said I didn't like any of the dresses. I tried on 8 dresses and 6 were spaghetti straps. I really was looking to try on a variety to figure out which neckline and shape and material I liked best. They just didn't have a selection at all. By the end we wanted out and it was kind of awkward. They were being nice and put me in my favorite of the ones I tried on and then put a veil on me. I don't plan on wearing a veil and you could tell from my body language and stuff that I was NOT into any of the dresses. I would say it's pretty (which is true, all wedding dresses are pretty and everyone has different tastes) and would say if it was comfortable or not, but I absolutely never had an "I love this" moment. Another thing to add that isn't a huge deal, if you are going to sell stuff that averages above $1K, blue jeans, birks, and a sleeveless shirt or tshirt aren't really going to make me think to buy from you. You gotta dress more business casual than casual for stuff like that. When you work at a wedding dress shop and someone walks out in a dress, you should instinctively say Omg you look so pretty! Or that looks beautiful on you! Or just ask how they feel in the dress. People who are shopping will do this when someone walks out. It is just kind of instinct. The other workers just stared at me. My consultant would ask but the other girls who I would walk past to get to the mirror would just stare. I would rate the experience 2/5 because my consultant was nice to me but overall others weren't and my friend couldn't even get a damn water. HOWEVER I take off a star because I'm not sure why my FB recommendation isn't listed on their page and that seems sketchy. read more

This place is fantastic! We had spent a long day the day before shopping for my friend's wedding dress- and we had gone to a LOT of shops and had a lot of bad service. When we arrived at Catherine's, we were expecting a lot more of the pushy, bad behavior we had experienced at the other places. There was none of that. Just friendly, welcoming staff, who let us browse on our own time, offered help and suggestions when we asked- and truly listened when we had suggestions and when the bride was explaining some of the things she liked about other dresses she had tried on. They also gave us time and space to check out the bridesmaid dresses, and we were able to try on some of the styles we had noticed and liked at other stores. There was a great vibe in the store that made us all very relaxed and able to try things on and make decisions about what we liked and didn't like. My only criticism is that the store was a little on the small side, and it was a little cramped. The helpful staff more than made up for it. We found what we were looking for...she found the perfect wedding dress and we found great bridesmaid dresses! read more

My bridesmaids got their dresses for my wedding at Catherine's and they were amazing. When my maid of honor and I went in looking the staff was very friendly and let us take our time and try things on. After picking the dress I liked they were very good about helping my bridesmaids find the dress and get fitted for it on many different occasions since we were not able to all go together. However, one of my bridesmaids went in and they told her what size she would be regardless of her telling them she did not agree and that she should be measured. They ended up ordering the dress a size too small and she had to get it altered to fit because she was not able to order the correct size. They then told one of my other bridesmaids that they tried telling her it was the wrong size and she was insistent on that size being ordered. I don't mind that they thought they knew her size and made a mistake, however I do have a problem with lying to other customers to cover your mistake. Not cool. My only other issue is that they wanted several weeks to do alterations that should only take a few days. If they knew it took a while for alterations they should have made us aware of that so we old have planned ahead. I would recommend this place for their selection but make sure you are fitted and that you have plenty of time to get alterations done, or have them done somewhere else. read more

When we went in we were looking for my dress. We ended up finding my bridesmaids dresses there. When we finally got the dresses in they were not the color they ordered. The lace is white not ivory. Then instead of dealing with the vendor themselves they pushed it off on to my maid of honor and I. Now two months later we are still trying to get it fixed. I just bought my wedding dress from here and they were so helpful when I told them my budget. I never review a business but I was so pleased with this place. They weren't pushy like some places I have been to and let my mom and I look at all the dresses at our lesiure. I loved that they gave me privacy in the dressing room until I needed help. I had been to a chain bridal shop where they would give me beautiful dresses after they knew my budget and when I fell in love with the dress they would shock me with the price double what I could afford. Catherine's actually recommended I only try on dresses I could afford which told me their priority was to make their customers happy not just make a buck. Once I found the one I loved they even worked with me on the price. The prices of alterations were very affordable as well. read more

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THEIR TAILOR. It was the worst experience of my life and still to this day regret the way my dress was altered. Finding dresses and trying them on here is a great experience, however. They have nice quality dresses at good prices. Just PLEASE, save yourself the trouble and take your dress somewhere else. Brides beware!!!! I made an appointment here several weeks in advance. I received a confirmation email that my appointment was a go. When I arrived on my appointment date and time, the women working were shocked and had no clue I was even coming. They were not apologetic nor accommodating. I proceeded to pick out some dresses to try on (without their assistance). They were NOT helpful at all. Didn't help with getting the dresses on or off, or even hanging them back up after trying them on. The workers were overall rude and lazy. Save your time and go straight to "Here Comes the Dress." You will get excellent service in a much warmer and friendly environment. VERY DISAPPOINTED. read more

I don't like this place. It started off nice, until I paid for my wedding dress. The ladies were very rude and pushy, telling me my dress fit, when it did not. They did the bussel, and assured me the way THEY wanted to do it, would be better. Well, 1/2 way through my first dance, the bussel fell, luckily my sister is good with sewing & things like that, so she rigged it for me, but by the end of the night, the dress was all torn on the bottom. One of my bridesmaid had to go back 3 times, because they insisted her dress fit her also, she is pretty thin, and the top would not stay up, it was just a disaster, and they would not listen to us. I would never recommend them, maybe to buy the dress, but then get out! and go find another place that will work with you for a perfect fit. read more

Purchased mother dress. Only had small size so held it on me. Dress was $400. They are supposed to be professionals,,,,should have explained to me the dress in my actual size would be much lower in front and back. Also was NOT told "no refunds" and did not notice that printed mat bottom on receipt they gave me as we were walking out the door. Dress came, and was totally inappropriate to wear as the bride's mother. Had to buy another dress at Nordstrom. Now stuck with dress. Their focus is ma,king a sale, not customer service. I love this bridal boutique so much! I found my wedding dress here when I lived in IL still and the ladies there were so helpful and wonderful! The shop is clean, updated, and much more organized than any bridal shop I've seen lately. It's definitely my favorite. I moved to Charleston, SC and my bridal shop is not nearly as beautiful. I was sad I wasn't able to continue with fittings here, and work with them, but when I visit home I plan on getting my veil from here. I had that special experience where you cry when you see the dress and know it's "the one." I took my mom here and she enjoyed it too, we even stopped to have a cupcake next door. It's in a great location, and they are very reasonable with deals and pricing. Definitely recommend!!! read more

my maid of honor and I had a fun experience at this bridal boutique. the staff were very friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed ourselves. Kaylie (and I hope I'm saying that right) was my sales associate and she was a really big help ultimately the gown I fell in love with was a gown she chose for me. I was fitted for a beautiful gown and my measurements were bottom 14 top 10 so they suggested a size 14 dress. I am anticipating the arrival of my gown cant wait to see it on me, i didn't think the quoted alterations were to expensive because I may not need a full alteration but however there are many alteration shops to choose from if I decide to go elsewhere. over all I have nothing bad to say the girls there really showed us a good time and the extras you can receive for buying a gown are really neat. as the bride my first time shopping experience was amazing. She was honest, helpful, and very kind. If you're looking for a store, I would definitely suggest this place to any one looking for a good experience! When I first got to the bridal shop they greeted me, but it seemed awkward. I had an appointment, but they treated me like I was a walk in. I spoke to the woman previously over the phone about the type of dress that I wanted, explaining to them that I am petite, and she said that she would show me certain types of dresses that would fit my criteria. However, when it came time to pick out dresses, she had nothing set aside like she said she would and told me to look through the rack and pick out my own dress. All the dresses were very large and most of them were not what I was looking for. When I repeated to her what I was looking for, she pulled out dresses that did not have any part of the design that I expressed vehemently for earlier. One of my bride's maids had to find what I was looking for and give the dresses to me to try on. After that, the women who worked there finally helped me put on two of the eight large dresses, and then when she went to pin up the dress, she put one safety pin in the back, and I still had to hold up the dress while I looked at it in the mirror -which to say the least was very frustrating. I had to come out of the dressing room half naked and would have died if anyone else was in the shop. I just couldn't see how it would fit right, and the woman kept rolling her eyes at me and treating me like I was wasting her time. I just wanted to find the right dress, but what she was giving me wasn't right. Then, after the fifth dress she left me to basically fend for myself even though there was no one else in the store. My bridal party, my mother, and I were all so uncomfortable that we just wanted to leave. The two women worked there began to notice that we wanted to leave and started throwing dresses at me that had all the details that I hated. I tried so hard to be nice, but the woman was just so mean and rude to me. I felt like a nuisance and not a bride. read more

I am so very grateful for the personal care and attention given to me by the staff at Catherine's. I am the poster child indecisive bride with a very opinionated entourage. The staff was amazing with how they were able to gracefully and diplomatically please both me and my guests. They were consistently patient with me through all of my many visits and made every one of them special and memorable. They gave great advice on how to effectively and clearly communicate my needs to my family and bridal party. From taking pictures and video on my phone for me to helping me pick out my color palette based on pictures of bouquets stored on my phone, they were genuine and encouraging every step of the way down to the final decision and made that moment truly special and unforgettable. Worst experience at this shop! Rude customer service from employees and the owner! Tried charging some of my bridesmaids hidden fees and not others when dresses were all ordered at the same time, they waited 1 month/ 1 month 1/2 before my wedding to get dresses ordered, none of the employees seem to know the stores policies since each of my bridesmaids and I were all given different information on payment and ordering of the dresses in general every time we went in...EVERY time and that had to of been at least twice from each girl and they never honored the information that they gave to us. Owner did nothing but fight with you and be very rude on the phone when called out for their bad inconsistent information. The list could go on and on. Overall, TERRIBLE experience. I will never recommend this shop to anyone. As a former bride to all new brides and your bridesmaids, Take your money elsewhere!!! read more
