Restaurant Week 2026- Duck Confit. Excellent potatoes. Wish the duck had a bit more crisp
    Glenn C.

Note: Rating is for Restaurant Week solely I was at this restaurant with a group of 8 others a couple of evenings ago for Restaurant Week, with theirs being listed as a $60 Summer Bistro, being a little bit more elaborate than the typical spot with wine specials and otherwise. The large space is gorgeous, though a tad too loud and a tiny bit dark for photos. The service was excellent, going above and beyond the typical spot, making our evening special and more than making up for some issues throughout the night. A lot of people were there early, so a bunch went to the bar to hang out while waiting for happy hour drinks. I personally had a glass of Blanc de Blancs, a French sparkling wine from Grandial. It's usually overpriced at $16 a glass, but for $8 during HH, I didn't mind. We were soon seated at a slightly cramped booth, and they gave us some time to think. Prior to ordering, they brought over some Grissini, or breadsticks, along with some olives to munch on. Two of us decided to split the reasonably priced $25 15oz carafe of Domaine Bernard Defaix Bourgogne Blanc, with others getting the other reds. Post-ordering, they also brought us some Parker House rolls with a sesame herbed whipped butter. The bread was warm, and the butter had a very nice texture, but lacked some flavor, with one of us joking around that it was more like whipped margarine. My appetizer was the Leeks (or Poireaux) Vinaigrette. The presentation was more artful than the typical spot, with larger leeks arranged vertically and covered with some vinegared mushrooms, walnuts, and a bit of salad. It was refreshing and tasty. Others got the Escargot En Persillade, Frisée aux Lardons, $10 extra Half Dozen Oysters, or the Plateau du Marché, or salami with crudite. The others enjoyed their apps, but one person's escargot was very late. The staff apologized, with them providing her a mocktail on the house, which was appreciated. For my main, I went with the Duck Confit, with pommes de terre, Swiss chard, and sour cherries. The portion size was decent, with the best part of the dish being the fondant potatoes, as they were tender and juicy, with some richness from the duck. The duck itself was flavorful and meaty, though missing the crispy skin. The sauce was decent, with a mild sourness, and a couple pieces of sour cherry with the chard adding a touch of bitterness. If the duck had properly crispy skin, it would have been outstanding, but the dish was still good. The other entrees included fish, Pasta ZaZa, and the Rôtisserie Chicken, one of the few dishes on the regular menu which is normally $39 for half a chicken. The chicken apparently was very salty, with another person trying and saying the same thing. The staff apologized and brought out a new version of the dish. I tried a bit of the shoestring post-replacement, and they were fine, though they could have, ironically, used a bit more salt. Along with the mains, they brought out some complimentary sides of the Macaroni Gratin Jambon and Wild Mushrooms, which are normally $16 each. The wild mushrooms were tender and lightly roasted, while the more unique dish was the gratin. Instead of being multiple small pieces of pasta, it was instead one giant maccherone, with us cutting the dish at the table. The flavor was rich and slightly salty, with the ham adding more texture. My dessert was the disappointing Strawberry Tarte Tropézienne with vanilla crème diplomate, which is normally $22 on the menu. The tart wasn't the best, being a tad dry and missing the characteristic pearl sugar on top, though the cream was decent. I also wished that the strawberries were more incorporated, as they were just on the side. Others enjoyed the Espresso Crème Brûlée, which had some raspberries on top, Chocolate Profiteroles, and another person raved about the Milk Chocolate Soufflé, which was $12 extra. Possibly due to the entree issues, or as they were being friendly, as we had ordered a lot of food and wine, they also brought out a free platter of their Fruttini, or sorbets made with their own frozen fruits. The flavors included blood orange, lemon, strawberry, and kiwi. I tried a bit of the blood orange, which was very tasty, along with the strawberry, which was excellent. This was normally $36, or $12 individually, and was most appreciated. We soon left after paying, with there being caramel popsicles on the table. I am not usually the biggest fan of Tao Group restaurants, as they don't fit into my usual style, being more substance rather than flavor. This was a tasty exception, at least for Restaurant Week.

We came here for happy hour and everything was delicious. The bar was crowded but they were able to seat us on one of the tables by the bar. Service was amazing as they kept checking on us to make sure everything was to our liking. I will definitely come back when im in the area. Who can say no to 5 dollar happy hour lobster roll sliders!!

I came here on a Saturday night. Made sure to make reservations since it's known for being a bustling restaurant. We were in our seats within minutes and right away noticed the grand decor above. It was really beautiful. We started with the Leeks Vinaigrette. I never knew that leeks could be cooked to be so tender. Mixed with the walnut vinaigrette, they tasted so good. If I could make leeks like these at home, I'd be eating healthy all the time! We then ordered the King Prawns a la Plancha which were amazing. They were cooked perfectly and the flavors of the Calabrian chili butter and Amalfi lemon paired exquisitely with the shrimp. Honestly, I could have eaten a whole plate of them for dinner and been perfectly happy. For entree, we shared the Lamb Chops and also ordered a side of Garnet Sweet Potato. The lamb chops were good, but I loved the sweet potato. I don't remember the topping and sauce used to make them, but this side dish was incredible. We had the Chocolate Soufflé and the Honey Crisp Apple Beignets for dessert. I think I licked clean every inch of the plate that the soufflé was served in. It was sinfully delicious! We also ordered a couple of drinks, but the Sgrappino was my favorite. It's made table-side by mixing lemon sorbet, Elyx Vodka and Blanc De Blancs. It was so good that we had to order another one as soon as we finished the first. If you like sweet drinks, you will love this! What I loved about Cathedrale is that each dish was so unique and tasted absolutely delicious. Our waitress Camila provided excellent service. The food, decor and service were all top-notch. I do wish the check was a little easier on the wallet!

The place has an amazing vibe. We went for the summer restaurant week menu to see how the food was, which was pretty good. This is not a place where you show up in casual clothing, this is a date night level up. The food was wonderful. The restaurant week menu aka summer bistro menu is just enough for people to eat. Much more enjoyable than a very large regular meal. Good vibes and good service.

The Cathedrale is such a beautiful restaurant. The food, although pricey, was absolutely delicious, too. Depending on the occasion and seating available, I would definitely love to come back again. We had a reservation but did have to wait a bit to be seated. There was a table in the restaurant but it seemed like there would be too much foot traffic, so we decided to sit at the bar, closest to the dining area. The bar is huge and near reception were a bunch of people just standing around waiting for tables, which is why we'd chosen to sit closer to the restaurant. However, people still started hovering around behind us, so I'd choose a better seating option next time. Although it has a romantic atmosphere, the noise level was quite high. So if you're looking for a nice, quiet dinner, this probably wouldn't be the place. It has a great vibe and is very lively, though. And this is the place for warm, fresh bread and the best filet mignon. The breadsticks were fine, but the mini bread loaf with butter was absolutely amazing. I'm not sure if I'd order the oysters again, but the salmon dish was also delicious. (Faroe Island Salmon with panchetta, savoy cabbage, tarbaia beans and vin jaune) My favorite, besides the bread, was the Filet Mignon with au poivre "Paul Bert" Paris mushroom duxelle. It was perfectly cooked, accompanied by a flavorful sauce. I'll be back for the delicious bread and filet mignon :)

I visited Cathédrale Restaurant after hearing about their happy hour menu, specifically the $5 maine lobster rolls, online. And, I highly recommend! The lobster rolls themselves weren't the best, but I loved all of the other happy hour menu items (except the nozeco spritz, that was bad). My favorite dishes had to be the chips & french onion dip (topped with caviar btw) and the tuna tartare. I loved the french onion dip. It was great with the lobster roll and even better with the tuna tartare. I would come back just for this.

The Faroe Island Salmon at Cathédrale was delicious. The seasonal vegetables and zucchini hummus complemented the salmon, and the squash blossom pesto added a nice presentation.

Service: 2 / Vibe: 4 / Food: 3 The inside is beautiful and the dim lighting definitely gives it a cool vibe. I had the rotisserie chicken which was good but I wouldn't say it was anything to rave about or order again. The service was truly that of a glacier pace. We went for a 6pm reservation and didn't get out until 9:30 [on a Monday] where we nearly had to beg for the check. Truly when the waiter dropped the check he tried to walk away and I had to say "here's the card" because I couldn't risk him walking away and waiting another 30 minutes for his return. I'd consider going back for the interior decor but otherwise, definitely a pass.

The atmosphere at Cathedrale was pure perfection for celebrating my wife's birthday and Valentines Day. Food was creative and delicious, but I have to start by giving a shout out to the service. From the moment we entered, the entire staff was warm, welcoming and enthusiastic attentive. The interior at Cathedrale was also very warm and intimate with a strong nod to Parisian style. For starters we ordered Yellowfin Tuna Cru which was extremely fresh and tasty. The complimentary bread and butter were appreciated and my wife raved about the butter to the point of eating it without the bread. For entree's my wife enjoyed a lobster pasta dish while I had their signature truffle fettuccine. Both were delicious and quickly devoured. Before parting, they presented my wife with a birthday ice cream cupcake dessert We've had this restaurant on our list ever since we heard Tao Group opened a French restaurant in the lower east side. Lived up to the hype and expectations.

I ate here for my birthday. This restaurant is beautiful! I brought my family here and we all loved it. We are in the dining room. The service was top notch. The food was delicious. I'll be running back!

Cathédrale is a stunning space with an incredible atmosphere, making it a great spot for a night out in NYC. We came here for Mother's Day and experienced their special prix fixe meal set, which offered a solid, multi-course journey through their menu. The service was absolutely excellent and truly elevated the celebratory holiday. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive without feeling overbearing. Despite it being a busy holiday, the pacing of the prix fixe courses was flawless, and the servers went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for the occasion. We started the evening with several appetizers, including the octopus served over a savory tomato base, perfectly seasoned wild mushrooms with a vibrant green purée, a fresh steak tartare topped with crispy gaufrette potato chips, and a creamy burrata paired with roasted peppers and savory beignets. Everything tasted good, was cooked well, and showed great attention to detail. For the main courses, the execution remained strong. The filet au poivre was perfectly tender and came drenched in a rich peppercorn sauce. The seafood dishes were equally enjoyable, featuring a delicate white fish in a creamy chive and roe sauce, a crisp-skinned fish fillet over a rustic chickpea and tomato stew, and a beautifully seared salmon served alongside a pristine stalk of white asparagus. We wrapped up the holiday meal with a couple of light, refreshing desserts: a striking lemon-shaped sorbet served over crushed ice and a smooth sorbet scoop garnished with fresh mint. While the food was objectively good, the top-tier service and gorgeous ambiance are what really stand out. The holiday prix fixe runs quite high, and for the premium price point, the flavors didn't feel quite unique or inventive enough to truly stand out in a city packed with exceptional dining options. However, because the hospitality is so wonderful, it still makes for a highly enjoyable, beautiful setting for a celebratory family dinner.

Overhyped and average factory restaurant. Had a meh Thanksgiving dinner here and the staff could give no f#*ks. Seated 40 minutes after our reservation. Stood by a sad lettuce buffet. Ordered ribeye... it's 86'd... now it's not... ok, you get ribeye. Food runners didn't know who ordered what, so it's like Denny's "who got the pasta?" And everything officious and slow. Asked for water like 8 times. Had dessert which was nice. Mostly they were pretty but chocolate mousse looked like poo. TLDR: $600+ for 4 people with no alcohol was waaaay more than this lame place was worth. Avoid.

We went here for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing! Loved the ambiance! We started with martinis at the bar with Alberto and they were ice cold and perfect! Our gorgeous girl sat us at the best table overlooking the rest of the restaurant and our waiter Patrick was a pro with all the right suggestions. Food was off the chart and Liam made it perfect with three incredible desserts! I recommend this place to anyone that loves class!

Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.

First of all, the place is popular and we did not have resos, but the staff were super nice and found us an open table that we could eat at as long as we put in our orders quick so they could get the table ready for a later reservation in an hour. Then the food itself arrived and was really delicious and well presented, just look at those kebab plates and dips! They also gave our group free baklava at the end I think just because they felt a little bad they had to rush us, which wasn't even their fault and was super appreciated. Also, the interior decoration is fantastic. The restaurant feels super classy and elegant. Great vibes for a date, a business dinner, or just a fancy dinner. Overall, easy 5 stars. Great food and amazing service. Oh and the wine was delicious too.
