Mom and I came here for a Sunday afternoon lunch and it was packed. Even still, we were seated immediately for just the two of us. There was a line for larger parties. For me, the draw is that salad bar. I really miss the heyday when even Wendy's had a self-serve bar. Whenever I see a salad bar, I'm a happy lady. And while this one isn't anything really special, it does have all of the "greatest hits" that you'll remember if you've ever been to say a Ruby Tuesday... French dressing! Croutons made from real bread! Pasta salad (this one has way too much pesto, unfortunately)! Jello and Pudding! Chopped eggs! It is really a thing of beauty. And I think it was only $9.99! They bring every table some warm rolls with a honey cinnamon butter. I'm guessing this is very popular, but I really don't care for that flavor of butter. I'd prefer just regular butter, but our server was slammed, so we didn't get a chance to ask. Mom had the Pineapple Chicken ($17.99), which she really enjoyed. On day five of our road trip from California, we were tired of fast food on the road. Wanted a nice steak lunch at a steakhouse; I saw Cattleman's Roadhouse in Georgetown, KY and we stopped in. Went on a Sunday where they have deals all day. We arrived at 5:30 and waited about 30 minutes for a table. For around $15 per person we had the salad bar, 6 oz steak and a side. The salad bar was well stocked with all the best things: eggs, pepperoni, cottage cheese, banana peppers, and all the regular salad bar things. They also had a pasta salad and loaded potato salad that were pretty good as well. Everyone talks about the potatoes like they are something special... they are. Road trip! Stopped in to get dinner while waiting on the Cincinnati traffic to die down. Perfect place to grab a meal. They had food similar to Texas Roadhouse and Outback but with a more Country Western atmosphere but with a nice looking unlimited salad bar that you can order with the meal for an additional price. We sat at the bar and waited on quickly. Service was excellent our waitress brought us hot rolls that were so good and hot. They tasted homemade. She was attentive and our food was hot and delicious. I had the petite sirloin with sweet potato dressed with butter and cinnamon. The steak was cooked Med well with light seasoning which was perfect and flavorful. My friend had the pot roast with baked potato with loads of butter. He said the pot roast was good nothing out of the ordinary except there were no potatoes in the pot roast. The portions were perfect and there was nothing left but a clean plate. We both had tea to drink. I love wood as decor. Especially if it's used in different mediums. The decor was a variation of wood motifs throughout from the ceiling to the barn door by the bathrooms and the wooden shadow box display of alcohol which I thought was neat. I don't even know where to begin...we ordered the 10 oz. Sirloin, 12 oz. Ribeye, 12 oz. NY, country fried steak and fried pickles. All the steaks were cooked to medium rare. The only decent steak was the NY and that's probably because it was cooked almost rare. The sirloin was like chewing on leather with lots if sinew. Even the ribeye was tough. The texture of the country fried steak was more like ground beef than tenderized steak and it was too salty. The sides were abysmal as well...steamed green beans and broccoli that were way overcooked and soft as baby food. The only saving grace were the loaded potato and the fresh rolls. Save your money and you'll have better luck cooking steak for yourself at home. read more

We went to Cattleman's Roadhouse on a Thursday at 6pm and there was no wait. The service was very good throughout the experience. The menu is varied, with a lot of options other than steak which I appreciate. I ordered the special which was a country fried chicken (fried chicken breast covered with gravy) and mashed potatoes with the salad bar. My friend had a NY strip and a baked potato. The chicken was juicy but very bland and the gravy had no flavor at all. The steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful but had more fat and gristle than I'd normally expect from that cut. There are so many reviews that mention potatoes but we weren't fans at all. The baked potato wasn't cooked all the way through and the mashed potatoes were super stiff and under seasoned. The rolls that came to the table were hot but they tasted like frozen brown and serve rolls, not good at all. The best part of the experience was the salad bar. Everything was fresh, it was very well stocked, and it had every kind topping you could want. It also had a variety of things like potato salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad, etc. I was happy to see that it was immaculately clean - I always worry about sanitation with self serve food but they really seem to stay on top of things there. Overall this place is fine but nothing special. I prefer the food at other steakhouse chains. Went a few weeks ago, and the service and food were fine. The waitresses and waiters are always great. However, the management went out to the parking lot and harassed one of my friends based on how he looked. He even waited for the rest of the party to leave, first. I contacted customer service, contacted them on Instagram and Facebook, trying to get ahold of someone in a corporate office or above that local management. The situation endangered my friend and it was for no reason other than what he looked like. It was inexcusable and they never even contacted me back. The food might be okay, the service might be good, but you'll get threatened in the parking lot. read more

It's hard to find a family owned steakhouse anymore, and this place has it all-great service, great atmosphere, and best of all, great food! The salad bar is included in many of the dinners, and it's fresh and extensive...and filling! My main was the sirloin and mashed potatoes-real ones!- and both were fabulous.
