First time visit to Blinkers Tavern at lunch time on a week day. The interior has a cool vibe- relatively small space, but quite a few tables outside (warm weather on an early March day) that were all occupied. They have a charming patio at the back of the interior space as well. I didn't realize they have their own lot, but in case it's full, there is plenty of street parking nearby. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and kept drink refills flowing. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese and the poutine for starters. The pretzel was huge and tasty. I didn't care for the beer cheese, probably because I was expecting a more solid cheese product. I would describe this more as a cream sauce. It didn't seem to have much cheese in it and was very 'liquidy'. Also the ramekin was only half full. If it had tasted better, I would have asked for more, but as it was not, we didn't even finish what was given. I thought it was a bit pricey at $12.95 for one large pretzel. On the other hand, the poutine was fantastic! A very unique take on the dish with a mix of cheese curds (although they reminded me more of pieces of mozzarella sticks), french fries and Andouille cream gravy. I ordered the fish tacos which consisted of Blackened Salmon, Thai Chili Sauce, Black Bean Corn Salsa, Pico de Gallo. My order came with two and they were fantastic! Since Blinkers is known for steaks, I will have to give them another try at dinner time.

Went here for lunch. My adult son said this place was on his try list. The atmosphere and service was good. The food didn't live up to my expectations. We ordered a giant pretzel and cheese sauce. The pretzel was OK (I've had better) but the watered cheese sauce was horrible! $13.95 was high for mediocrity. My wife liked her fish tacos. The fish and chips were underwhelming. Looked like fish sticks versus fried cod. The fish was not what I expected but tasted ok. The small amount of fries and 1 ounce of cole slaw was disappointing. The cheese curds over fries were OK. My son got the fish and chips as well. Overall an OK lunch with good service. $85 wasn't cheap.

It's rare we go back to a restaurant 3 times. But safe to say it's worth it. Food is always good and cooked perfect. Service was impeccable the first time then the second and 3rd fell short. Ambience is always good and it's always decently busy! Make sure to have a reservation!

This restaurant was perfect for the odd time between breakfast and lunch. They have a wonderful brunch menu with many sure to please dishes. We all opted for something with steak in it because they are known for it and nothing disappointed! I recommend this in a heartbeat!

Last minute decision to get dinner here and we were able to get a table for 5 outside. The staff were friendly and the food was better than anticipated! Would definitely return for a casual bite to eat.

My family and I were in town for a walk on the riverfront and decided to get lunch instead of going all the way home for leftovers. We chose Blinkers because it had a lot of people outside eating and the menu displayed on the sidewalk looked like it had something for everyone! The outdoor seating is nice, the street isn't terribly busy and good people and dog watching. Our waitress Sarah was very helpful and kind and kept our waters full on a sunny afternoon! The sandwiches were large portions served with yummy Saratoga chips and warm bbq sauce. I got the avocado turkey club and my mother in law got the Blinkers Burger, which she really enjoyed! My husband ordered the hot honey biscuits off the brunch menu, and while they were a smaller portion, he really enjoyed them. Clean plates all around- a great sign! Service was great and everyone who jumped in to serve us was fabulous, but we did notice a bit of a wait time when waiting to be helped and waiting for the check. Not an issue at all today though, because we were enjoying a beautiful day on the patio. I would definitely bring a guest back after a lovely walk on the Covington side of the river!

Came here for a rehearsal dinner and it was great! I wish I knew about the parking in the back but we were able to park in the lot outside. The back area was very nice and able to fit a larger group. The servers were very nice and working hard to accommodate everyone. We were able to get some warm bread and I ordered the baked lobster Mac and cheese. It was very filling. Very cheesy and a large portion. Great option for a private event!

A group of seven of us came in for lunch today. My preference was to make reservations online, but doing so was only good for groups of six or less. For seven I had the option of calling, which I didn't want to do. There was an option to submit a comment or question on the 'Contact' page on their website. I used this to submit a request for a reservation for seven. I received an email letting me know it was all taken care of... easy peasy. I didn't check in with everyone, but I did hear the fries were salty. I tried one and found it tasty, but yes... perhaps on the salty side. Mark ordered the Blinker Burger with pepper jack cheese. He opted for the bleu cheese crust add on. He said it was really good! he liked the blue cheese crisp on top. It was really good! Loved the fries as well and pickle. All went well together. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown with Goetta. In hindsight, I recall thinking it sounded a bit too cheesy, but I forgot all about my cheesy concern when I saw 'goetta'. I love goetta and including it in a Kentucky Hot Brown sounded just weird and different. Well, that's me. No surprise, it was very cheesy. I enjoyed the bacon and the tomatoes. I enjoyed it, but I kinda wished I'd opted for something else. The restaurant has a slightly classy vibe and I can see how Blinkers would do a good dinner business with their award winning steaks. We probably won't come back, but it was a nice setting for one of our monthly lunches.

Buddha bowl and Ruby Red was delicious! Very attentive server and nice, moody ambiance.

Big turkey melt with bacon and tomato. Fries on the side. All less than $10.

Ask the Community - Blinkers Tavern

Does someone have a picture of the kids menu or able to tell what it consists of? I've searched and searched but cannot find this. Thank you

I don't believe they have one. This is not a child's place, IMHO.

    Is this casual attire?

    Yes. Thank you! Enjoy!

Is there a parking lot for the restaurant, if not where's the best place to park?

They have a few spots down the alley next to the restaurant. There is a public lot across the street.

    Do they provide reservations?

Hi Kendall yes we take reservations and recommend them. Please call 859.360.0840. Thank you!

Are they open? The phone number is temporarily unavailable.?

    Not sure

Walked us through the specials, answered all of our questions about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. The dining room was lovely - multiple tiers so just about every dining position has a water view, live music playing. The vibes were excellent. We started with a crab cake appetizer. This was perfect. Big enough for two, the remoulade sauce was delicious! Next we had a Caesar salad that we split. No complaints here, the salad was great. For our main course, my wife chose the Beef Wellington, which is a weekend special. Neither of us had tried this before, and we both thought it was very good. It's served over mashed potatoes, and there is a sauce you pour over it. It's honestly big enough for two, and we brought some home for lunch the next day. I ordered the ribeye broadway style, which has lump crab meat and Ponchartrain sauce over it. The ribeye was very good, cooked perfectly. And for a shared side, we tried the potato volcano, which is a very interesting and flavorful take on loaded mashed potatoes. Because it was our anniversary, the restaurant provided us with a complimentary chocolate torte, which was very good. I also tried one of their mocktails, which was fantastic. This place is very good. Perfect location for a nice date night or evening out. We will be back!

Service was slow and lacked the fine dining attention that should accompany such prices. They put the wrong plates in front of us. We had to ask for menus several times. They food was ok at best. When it was time to pay they charged 3 percent for a credit card fee without telling us ahead of time.

Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.
