I called later begging them to see her and was told to wait til they opened. I paid ER fees and was willing to pay them again to save my dog as she was in agony. As her Momma, I knew she was sick and that should have been a reasonable assumption of the vet too. My dog died because a vet didn't care enough. I'll never take another animal there.

Beware! I recently worked as Broadmoor's assistant manager. As someone who is extremely passionate…read moreabout animals, I felt the need to leave a review, so that others can make a fair, accurate, and educated decision before boarding their pet at Broadmoor. First and foremost, there is no such thing as play time with your animal and staff. Dogs are locked in a kennel 24/7, often with nothing but a small thin blanket or towel to lay. This privilege is frequently taken away if your dog displays high anxiety. Providing your own blanket or dog bed won't change this, as animal belongings are NEVER given to them. Most dogs soil the contents of their kennel on a nightly basis and instead of cleaning dogs belongings multiple times, all belongings are marked and put in a cubby. They will not tell you this at time of drop off. Their operational schedule is posted below in a picture, but as you can see, Dogs remain in their indoor kennel from 4pm to 8am, a total of 16 hours... and there is no time or opportunity for staff to interact with dogs one on one. There is also no boarding staff on-site between 530pm and 630am. The messes that are made during their isolated 16-hour stint are cleaned up each morning at 8:30am. Nearly every kennel is riddled with urine and poop inside. Few dogs are able to hold it for this long. I brought up my concerns and offered alternative solutions or ideas, but was immediately dismissed. Even with daily cleaning, kennel cough has been going around the facility for the past few months. As a manager, I handled 2-3 weekly customer complaints about their dog coming down with the illness. As for grooming, their best groomer just left, and only one remains. The remaining groomer can barely handle 6 dogs a day and often, these dogs return to be fixed. 2/3's of the upcoming appointments will need to be canceled or rescheduled. I spent hours each week calling owners. Managements fix was to have kennel staff do groom dogs. Speaking of management, Bobby, their manager, hired me for my managerial expertise and extensive administrative background. He's ran boarding ops by for a long time and is the brother to one of the owners. Despite the many recommendations I suggested, Bobby denied all of them. Many were directed to improve comfort to the animals. Bobby rather focus on rediculous tasks that actively jepordized the health and safety of employees. He felt the constant need to micromanage but would complain about being bothered on his days off. Bobby commonly assigned deep cleaning tasks for the weekend. These tasks were difficult because kennels were full and we were understaffed. I found out this has been an ongoing issue. Many could be completed in the middle of the week, when the facility was nearly empty, and staffing was not an issue. It would certainly allow us time to focus on dog interaction. Despite tasks still getting done, Bobby always found reason to complain. It's degrading when you work your butt off all weekend and then wake up to texts, claiming nothing got done. Bobby wants his employees to be "yes men/women". During my last weekend, it was 10-15 degrees out and snowing. We were directed to empty the planters full of frozen soil. Bobby didn't care how and wanted employees outside hacking at frozen soil with shovels. Bobby, as a manager, is completely failing this company. As for the vet side, dogs cannot receive vaccinations in a timely manner. Dogs would be boarding for days without vaccinations. Also, my own pup injured herself. The vet side took a look and said she was fine. I took her to Cheyenne Pet Clinic and within 3 minutes they determined she had a torn cruciate ligament. Attached is proof to support my above statements. Step your game up Broadmoor. Treat the dogs and your employees better!

They make sure they are altered, have vaccines, microchip and any other care that they might need prior to adopting them out. They also are good at doing reference checks to do their best to make sure that the animals will be going to a good or appropriate home for them. As a volunteer, they have been wonderful to work with. i have 2 teens that i volunteer with and their lives have been much enriched by being able to walk the dogs. The staff at animal friends is friendly and helpful. And the training provided beforehand helps them to know you are committed to coming and being a regular at their facility. They took some down time for covid but have since began opening up volunteer slots. We highly enjoy working with them and i know many people who have adopted from them and loved the process!

That's a good thing when it comes to dealing with new homes for rescue pups. We are totally and completely in love with Piper. She is the perfect fit for our family. She and our other dog, Sophie, play together so well. They often sleep cuddled up together. Thank you Big Bones for giving us the opportunity to adopt the sweetest dog ever! BTW, our son adopted from Big Bones the week before we got Piper. He too had a very good experience and got a great little boy who is a perfect fit with his other dog.

We happened upon Sherlock with Big Bones, and were eagerly awaiting to meet this sweet boy. I filled out the lengthy application and was waiting and waiting for any response. Nothing. I wanted to call them, but they don't have a number listed. So more than a week later I went back to the original post on FB about Sherlock and asked if he's possibly already been adopted. The volunteer was nice, she kept me informed and said not yet. I asked why I haven't heard back yet, she said to check junk mail folder. Of course there it was, sitting in junk mail for over 8 days. I answered his question regarding our home ownership explaining that I am the home owner, but my home is in a Trust and will remain that way. Without any other questions we were turned down and told that we are not a good fit for Sherlock, but no explanation as to why. He said we can try to apply for a different dog. WHAT? No thank you! How rude! I am so deeply crushed. I just wanted to meet him. I will never use this agency. Max Fund and plenty of others, are far more reasonable and easier to communicate with and meet the animals in need. Adopters be warned.
