They were out of basically everything which makes no sense because there was three hours still until close. They were out of corn, Taziki, broccoli, other proteins and sides, lemonade, and all the teas. The vending machine did not even work properly. Every single table was filthy. Wow, I mean, I love CAVA. I will continue to eat CAVA at my local CAVA. This CAVA location however, needs some staff motivation seminars or something. Asked for greens and saffron rice (They have 3 kinds of rice.) "We only have brown rice." "Ok, I'll have greens and brown rice." :Puts just the rice on the bowl: "Um I wanted the greens too..." :EMPLOYEE EYE ROLL followed by an audible sigh: Ok so that was strike one, and at first I thought I had imagined it. I completed my order down the line and then noticed my wife behind me struggling with the same employee. That's when I saw the employee actually wait until my wife was looking in the other direction and rolled her eyes again. My wife was asking for plain chicken in a bowl with some pita bread for our kids, it really wasn't that complicated. Looking a bit around as we ate I took note of a few other things as I was now already in a state of annoyance over the lone female employee in the place. (8/8/22 4:00 PMish) 1. Every single table was dirty, every one. Four employees standing around in the kitchen, every table dirty. 2. The trash was completely full. Employees are now having a good laugh about something someone said near the chicken burning on the grill. 3. The bathrooms hadn't been cleaned, if not at all today, certainly not in the last few hours. Employees still standing around, but someone stops to cut up chicken. The last 4 times I have come to this CAVA has been terrible. I go weeks in between because I'm always hopeful the next time will be better. I pre-order my food on the app. The app is either incorrect because they're out of items they haven't marked off , I'm waiting on my food for 15-20 minutes after I'm there past the time it's scheduled to be ready, or I add something to my meal that's just forgotten. I'm not one to write reviews because I know things happens and people are short-staffed. But when I consistently have an issue WEEKS in between coming here, there's a problem. We were visiting the area recently, and Cava made our short list of lunch recommendations. I admit, as a Hispanophile, I thought it was going to be a tapas place, as "Cava" in Spanish is a sparkling wine. lol. While we did wait a bit to be served--the person taking counter orders was in the back--she made up for it with generous portions and a kind demeanor. Also, she was apologetic. The bowls here are so big (and healthy!) that you may not finish them (and end up with both lunch AND dinner!). We enjoyed ours so much that we went back the next day for more! I did some researching and discovered that there is one semi-close to home so I can imagine it will make it onto our takeout rotation at some point. My husband liked the place so much that he ate there AGAIN in Austin, TX just a few days later. I have pics as proof! If you want a healthy, filling meal that will not break the bank, try Cava. I've read that the tables are dirty and the service slow, but with faster food places, I try to lead with the food and follow with the secondary experience details. I love Cava, but my recent experience was disappointing. I ordered a Harissa Avocado bowl without feta, but the server, a short, brown-haired girl , added the feta anyway. (On accident on her end) When I pointed it out, she remade the bowl but seemed irritated, handling the food aggressively throwing the food in my bowl. The meal tasted great, but the service left a bad impression. As a tired, hungry customer, I didn't appreciate the attitude over a simple request. I placed a drive thru mobile order and the server was absolutely terrible and extremely rude. Young, black hair, lots of eye makeup. She didn't say a single word to me throughout our entire interaction - which normally I wouldn't care about but this young woman visibly rolled her eyes at me as if I were an inconvenience to her. I said "have a great day thank you so much" and she slammed the window shut!!
