Of all the cava locations this one is the WORSE. I went in today and the place was a huge mess. Garbage on the tables. (No one was seated inside to eat.) the space between the toppings and on the line there was just food and sauces everywhere. And I'm able to look past that but what really annoyed me and made me decide to never return to this location was the guy helping me. He would throw everything on my plate. He literally lifted the scooper in the air for the food to drop like if it was entertaining to him. At the end i asked for lemon tahini sauce and the bottle was most empty, instead of getting more, he decided to keep banging and squeezing so sauce was going everywhere. And then when he finished he just looked at me and said "that's it?" He rang me up and walked off to help the next lady. He didn't give me my receipt. Didn't give me my cup. No bag. I literally grabbed everything from the other side of the counter on my own. I could have easily just walked off and not even paid and he would have never known. As i was getting my drink ( which by the way all the lemonades were empty) the lady ordering with him was making him redo her bowl and telling him to not slam her food into the bowl like that. Clearly it's an ongoing issue. No one like to be served as if we're eating slop. This location will never see me again. read more

This Cava never misses for me. It's quick and tasty, though pricier but worth it to me as the service is also good. I've tried other similar places and didn't enjoy them as much so I'll stick to Cava. The food is really good and fresh; and for what you get is a good value. Our order for three was placed online and ready within 10 minutes. The restaurant was clean but, had a section with standing water which was cordoned off (it appeared the drink machine was leaking). The bathroom was really clean and the sink was a normal sink that you control - no waving hand around getting the water to run. They also have paper towels. Since we placed our order online we had minimal contact with the staff. However, the little interaction we did have was pleasant. We didn't hear any drama coming from the kitchen. Cava is soooo good!! I relocated to Charlotte so we never had this place before up north but I absolutely love doing a build your own salad bowl! I get the brown rice as the base then Romain mix and add chicken as my protein then the feta sauce and tazaki sauce with it and some avocado and it's delicious! It's sort of a fast food concept so you order your food in a line and it's prepared as you order. It's not a fancy place but the location I frequent is very clean the staff is friendly and very helpful when guiding you for options. This was my 2nd time coming to Cava and it was delicious. It doesn't feel like fast food and it makes you feel good after you eat it. If you go in person and order your food it's great and I have no complaints. However, if you order through DoorDash or Uber Eats then good luck getting everything you ordered. They skimp out on over half of my toppings when I order online. I don't mean that they put only a little bit of each of the toppings, they just don't add any. They also don't add sauces to the bowls when ordering online. This happens each time I order online and it seems very much like they're just trying to not have to do as much or they're just hoping you won't notice. I think it's low key ridiculous especially when 5 toppings and 2 sauces are missing. That's more than just "oh I didn't see it on the ticket". I should trust that my food can be made how I ordered it (especially since there weren't any special requests and I ordered what they offer) without having to physically watch them make it. read more

I came in for lunch today and they didn't have a lot of the toppings ready, which pretty much left me with the option of cucumbers and more cucumbers. The workers do not seem as knowledgeable or friendly anymore. I heard other customers complaining. Sadly, my recent experiences here have not been the same as when this location first opened. I LOVE MEDITERRANEAN! Maybe because I am originally from that region, but I LOVE IT when a new Mediterranean spot opens in town....and an amazing one at that! The grain and greens bowl was delicious. It's light, fresh, but certainly filling. I went for a salad bowl, and I liked that they had a variety of mixed lettuces, not just romaine or spinach. I added their taziki, along with their chicken, and of course hummus. I added a few other items to my delicious salad bowl, and off I was, to a Mediterranean spa lunch. Man, this was delicious. All the veggies were crisp and fresh, just how you want them to be. Perfect for a hot summer day. Even writing about it days later makes me want to take the trek up to build another one!! This review is based on the community day, the day before the official opening. Cava has the right idea with the preview day. I was able to try what they have to offer and see the variety they have. The wait to order wasn't bad and I don't anticipate there being long lines once they officially open. All of the staff and employees were super nice and helpful. I appreciated that a lot of the ingredients are locally sourced and they seem to really care about their food. I ordered the half greens/half grain bowl. I was able to try 3 of the proteins (spicy lamb meatball, meatball and the lamb). The spicy lamb meatball was my favorite. I picked all of the topping items I like like pickled onions, feta cheese and their cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh. But I think what really made the bowl was the dips/spreads. I got the eggplant and red pepper, the roasted red pepper hummus and the crazy feta. The three mixed so well together. Cava is kinda far from my side of town but I will def have to take a drive up that way for this tasty treat. Can't wait til they open one in the Park Road around around July 2018!!! Sooooo I may be a little addicted to Cava. As others have mentioned, this place is set up very similarly to Chipotle. Assembly line preparation with your choice of toppings, sauces, and protein. Cava is a very welcome addition to the University community in the boardwalk shopping center that already contains a plethora of fast-casual dining options. It shares a parking lot with the neighboring Dunkin' Donuts, Pei Wei, City Barbecue, etc. I was surprised that the interior is on the smaller side. When you walk in, the line begins to the right and, if it's peak time, there are handheld menus for you to peruse and help you make up your mind while waiting. So far, I've only had the pita option. There is a standard size and a mini size. A single mini pita will run you $4 (plus tax) and the standard is double that amount. Depending on how hungry you are, the mini can be filling enough for a lighter lunch. Their roasted vegetables are my absolute favorite. I have found them to be very flavorful and hearty enough to take the place of meat. I usually go with half veggies and chicken, tzatziki sauce, tomato & onion spread, and romaine. I did try the spicy lime sauce but I just wasn't that big of a fan. Their ginger lime turmeric juice is my favorite and something I consider a must-try. If you also find yourself a CAVA fan, I personally recommend downloading the CAVA app. You'll be able to order your food and have it ready for pick up at the register (in cubbies that are alphabetized). You'll want to do this because this place gets packed. If you are skeptical of Mediterranean food, I suggest giving CAVA try. There is something you're bound to like! read more

This place... Oooohhh this place... Y'all this place is a true foodies dream. If you like complex but complimentary flavors, fresh quality ingredients that is still a great value. Lots of people have said this place has a chipotle-like concept. That may be true to some but this would definitely be a more elevated version to me fir the complexity and variety of flavors, fresh ingredients and the variety of offerings. I heard good things and was excited to try the falafel . When I arrived I asked how long ago the falafel was made. The kind gentleman offered me to sample it to make sure it was what I wanted AND said he's make a fresh batch for me if so, though it would take 6 minutes. I perused the menu (and some Yelp reviews) while I waited and was ready to roll when my falafel was done. I ended up ordering the grains and greens bowl with rice, lentils, all of the greens, eggplant spread, crazy feta, harissa, falafel, all of the condiments and the lemon herb tahini dressing. All of this was served with the mini pita and I added the ginger turmeric tonic to drink. The staff were all super kind and helpful and gave their suggestions along the way which I gladly accepted and implemented (I mean they are the experts!!) I sat down and took my pictures and then my first bite. It was AMAZINGLY delicious. I absolutely cannot brag enough on the melding of flavors, the freshness of ingredients, and the value for the money. I still had good amount of food left and was full when I finished. It was the epitome of satisfying. I can't even qualify it with words. The finer turmeric tonic is the ultimate refreshing beverage and perfect for digestion (ginger, turmeric and citrus). Knowing what I know now this is what I'll change next time: -Salad bowl or just little bit of the grains (super filling with both). -All crazy feta dip with a tiny bit of harissa (the crazy feta is divine and the harissa is delish but best served sparingly because it's really harissa not some knockoff stuff). -A large ginger turmeric tonic (this stuff is divine) and should be bottled and sold like their dips. I frequent this location in person often but today was my first time doing an online pickup order. Got a chicken bowl, $11.15. TO SAY I WAS SUPER DISAPPOINTED WHEN I GOT MY BOWL IS AN UNDERSTATMENT. I think I'm addicted lol. This place is literally the Mediterranean chipotle but in my opinion more flavorful. I don't get much in my bowl because I'm a picky eater but i think I get enough. As my base I get a mix of brown rice and mixed greens (I believe it's Brussels sprouts, kale, and cabbage) with grilled chicken. The Hot HarissaSuper Greens Bowl Vinaigrette I get on the side so I can control how much is put in my bowl but it's BOMB! They have tons of other things you can put in the bowl that makes it great! It's official. I love CAVA!!!! I have been avoiding this place, sheerly out of not knowing anything about it (I'm in town for work and am not familiar with this chain). I've now been there twice in the last two weeks for lunch. This place is great! I highly recommend looking at their menu online before coming here for the first time as there are so many options to choose from and it can be overwhelming the first time. You can make so many different flavor combinations here, it's incredible! This is my go-to: a bowl of salad/greens and grains with brown rice and splendid greens, with roasted red pepper hummus (DELICIOUS!), tzatziki sauce, angry (?) feta, braised lamb (really good!), kalamata olives, pickled onions, mint, cucumber/tomato salad, more feta, and dill yogurt sauce! I'm telling you, all those flavors are seriously like a party in my mouth that I don't want to end! I had to keep myself from licking the bowl the first time I came here, and I never ever lick the bowl anywhere! I absolutely love everything about Cava! Maybe it's the fact that they actively support non-profit organizations. Or, maybe it's the fact that they buy their produce and meats from local farms. Or, maybe it's the simple fact that their food is quick, healthy, and delicious. If Chipotle, and a Middle Eastern/Greek Restaurant had a baby, you would get this restaurant. You walk up to the serving station where a server meets you to ask what kind of base you want for your bowl or wrap in terms of greens and rice. From there you choose their proteins (I love the braised lamb!), as well as the 3 dips (the Crazy Feta is to DIE FOR!). Once you do that, you get to choose your toppings, which range from Tabbouleh, to Pickled Onions, and Feta crumbles. The prices are fairly reasonable ($10-$12 after tax without a drink). The drinks are also great too. Most of them are made with cane juice, as well as fresh herbs like ginger, mint, etc. I go to Cava somewhat frequently (maybe once or twice a month) and never had any issues or complaints.
