Great Food, But Cleanliness and Service Are a Major Concern!!! I visited this restaurant for the first time about two weeks ago, and unfortunately, it was not a great dining experience, despite how good the food was. The concept of the restaurant is actually really appealing. It has a Chipotle-style, build-your-own ordering setup where you can choose a bowl or a wrap and customize it as you go. I ordered a salad bowl with brown cilantro rice, romaine lettuce, roasted vegetables, avocado, red pickled onions, pico de gallo, cucumbers, and Harissa Honey Chicken. My son got a pita wrap with brown cilantro rice, roasted corn, avocado, romaine lettuce, and the same Harissa Honey Chicken. We both genuinely enjoyed our meals--the flavors were fresh, balanced, and well-seasoned. I especially appreciated the option of white or brown rice, which not every fast-casual spot offers. But here's where things went downhill--the cleanliness of the dining room was unacceptable. The floors were sticky, and the tables and chairs were also sticky and covered with leftover food debris. The kicker? We were the very first customers of the day, which tells me that the restaurant was not cleaned the night before and definitely wasn't cleaned that morning before opening. That's unacceptable and honestly quite concerning. On top of that, we were not greeted upon entering. Instead, the staff stared at us awkwardly, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. Customer service was minimal and lacked warmth or attentiveness. Ratings: Salad Bowl - 5/5 Pita Wrap - 5/5 Ambience - 2/5 (dull, no music or energy) Cleanliness - 0/5 Customer Service - 2/5 Final Thoughts: As much as I enjoyed the food, I'm deeply concerned about the lack of cleanliness and hospitality. I like the concept. Basically Mediterranean fast food where you have an assembly line to pick the items you want either in a bowl or pita (like Chipotle does). There are lots of choices and they do have suggested entrees as well. I ordered off of doordash around 4pm, and received my bowl around 5. I do live kind of far out so timing wasn't necessarily the issue. I ordered the grains and green bowl (with harissa chicken). I noticed I didn't receive any chicken nor the complimentary pita bread. I don't know if it was a honest mistake because it says grains and greens. However, there was still a requirement for protein.. AND it clearly says on the ticket to add harissa chicken. Also I know Cava has a menu, but I have never ordered off that menu. I've always gone with the build your own way. When I saw the option "grains and greens", I saw it as just the base of my order. Whenever I called doordash they gave me the option to replace this order, which I did. THEN a second bowl came in with the same issue. As someone who works in the service industry I feel as if it's common sense to check the ticket before sending out food.. Overall, this is the worst experience I have had with Cava. I've been waiting to eat since 4pm when I originally placed my order. It's 6:22pm now. So you can only imagine how irritated I am. I know doordash can be confusing sometimes. I've driven by Cava so many times and it always intrigued me. I finally stopped by a few weekends ago and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a grains & rice bowl and a pita wrap just in case. The food is so fresh & delicious. I really like the Persian pickles/cucumbers. The spicy lamb meatballs were so delicious and I love how soft and fluffy the pita is. The two times I've stopped by the crew making my food was really nice & helpful. They even let me try the spicy chicken and man does it have a nice kick!! I love their hummus & tzatziki. Love this concept! It's basically Chipotle, but make it Mediterranean style. You walk up and they ask if you want a bowl or pita style and asked if you want their super greens or rice. You can create your own bowl or you can choose from from their list of curated bowls. Even if you choose from their curated menu, you can add or take away what you don't like. It was hard choosing one because they all sounded so delicious, but chose the Lentil Avocado bowl and my sister chose her the Harissa Avocado bowl. Wow, wow, wow...my mouth was dancing...the flavors were so unique and delicious! I can taste the fresh Persian sliced cucumbers, the tasty eggplant, falafel, hummus and roasted vegetables. Their were so many flavors but they all came together and to top it off they added the garlic dressing and the Skhug sauce (cilantro avocado sauce), which probably made the dish for me. I tried a bit of my sister's Harissa Avocado and that hony harissa chicken in there was superb! I think I can eat just that with a bowl or their rice and I would be totally satisfied and happy. Only thing I would say if I were to make any critiques is that I wish the falafel was a bit bigger and crunchier and that their cabbages were diced up into smaller pieces. There's not an option for no stars or below I don't love giving negative feedback but after 3 failed attempts to this location, I'm find to say this is a definite no! The place is below sanitary- all tables are always dirty and the staff even if there's none walking they the door, they don't attempt to clean. The seats are filthy, floors, doors and windows are filty- in more than sure if the health department came they fail... and I am afraid to know what the kitchen looks like if this is their concern for the customer seating area. The lines are always backed up and the first time I visit, I was under the impression it was due to lack of staff as many restaurants these days face, but I'm now aware by a following visit. That they are improper staffed as they had 4 parole working the food line and 3 at the cash register arguing on who would assist a customer with a juice refund because the fresh juice the restaurant offers was not made for the day... the team couldn't convince another team member to make if for the day,... There was only 1 young lady working that was attentive to the customers as she attempted to make food, she assisted with the request to clean a table for eating and she asked the back to make the missing food items needed to compete customer orders. One of the food line workers was too busy on his iPhone to help make food for the make table and was using his phone openly in the kitchen... no gloves... pretty sure that's a break of code when handling food.... I love cava because their menu is unique to anything in the area and their food is actually very tasty but this location needs corporate attention and fast! First, I'd like to say the food is incredible and I am so thankful for a new restaurant in Cypress that actually offers so many gluten free options. That being said, every experience we've had ordering online leaves so much to be desired. Every order we've had hasn't been done by the expected time. My husband is currently waiting for our order that was supposed to be done by 530. At 550, he was told it hadn't been started yet. This isn't isolated, it's every time. With 2 small kids, it's hard to wait so long for food. We'll still be going because it's not Chipotle, but we know to clear our schedules and bring snacks. read more

It hurts me to put these two stars because how much I love eating here but this is how bad my experience was. I placed an online order 20 minutes in advance, arrived on time and was told my food was coming out...about 4 times while I waited for a total of 45 minutes inside. Not once was I told that they were out of chicken and that it would be another 45 minutes wait. If they did then I would've just gotten something else rather than waiting. Unfortunately I wasn't the only one waiting, there were about 10 people waiting that long to get some chicken in their bowl. The worst part for me was that once the chicken was ready, the customers that had just gotten in line actually got their chicken before everybody in the to go line did (the ones waiting for 45 minutes). Preparations, priority and communication needs to be way better or else there's going to be many reviews like this to follow. A good option for an alternative to everything else and they have good options to try and keep a healthy meal, but it is still fast food...so there is no confusion. I do like they have options like brown rice and vegetables. It is good for those that have tree nut allergies. My only complaint is the hummus.
