Spicey Lamb and Avacado super greens bowl
    V O.

The long wait is over, Nashua! Thursday June 26th was CAVA's Community Day and they absolutely nailed it. Free food for those who signed up, with donations going to the NH Food Bank -- and CAVA is matching every dollar. That's how you make a meaningful entrance! I ordered the Spicy Lamb Avocado Greens Bowl and I'm officially obsessed. The lamb was juicy and full of bold, smoky heat -- perfectly balanced with creamy avocado, zesty pickled onions, crisp cucumbers, and a drizzle of spicy harissa. Add some hummus and garlic dressing? Game over. CAVA didn't just serve amazing food -- they showed heart. Welcome to Nashua, and thank you for giving back to the community while feeding us well! Don't sleep on the spicy lamb. It's the star of the show.

Not bad, just not what I expected. I'd probably try a wrap if I went there again, which is possible.

One of the worst falafel in my life. Falafel in pita get soggy within 30 minutes. Greek gyro is better than CAVA.

Ambiance Service…read more Food This place was such a wonderful surprise! Little restaurant in a little town...big time winner! It's so cute, great for a date night or dinner with friends. The service was good. A touch slow on drinks and I think our server forgot to put in one of our meals...it came out quite a while after the rest of the dishes. She was such a sweetheart though and they squeezed us in when they were really busy, so I couldn't dock a star for that because everything else was amazing. The drinks were delicious. The FOOD! Oh my gosh, it was all SO GOOD! Calamari, steak tips, chicken, eggplant lasagna, gyro and baked scallops were all winners. The scallops though! I could go on and on about how wonderful the food was. We will definitely be back and recommending it to anyone who will listen!

So, we've actually been ordering take-away from this place for a few years now, even though I'm…read moreonly JUST getting around to talking about them in detail. And right up front I'll say....whilst I enjoy the gyros here just fine, they still don't seem to compare to the ones I have at Amphora in Derry. The way I figure, there's a couple contributing factors to this. First, Main Street Gyro does this weird thing to their gyros. Or, at least....weird to *me*. They insert their fries inside their gyros. I guess they figured instead of having them as a side item like most would expect, they'd just make the gyro its own main course with sides rolled into one. And look - I KINDA get it. It's just not my jam. Speaking of fries, that's the second thing that sets this place apart from its competitor in Derry. The fries, while decent, are inexplicably short. I'm not kidding. You guys ever play the game "Drawing lots"? Imagine you get a pack of fries....and the whole thing consists of "short straws". That's the best way I can describe them. Good news is they still taste good. And this could be a "me" thing but....this makes the whole meal feel like it's fit for a toddler. Idiosyncratic observations aside, however, the gyros are pretty good. Customizing your items is simple enough. For instance, I like to get my chicken gyros with Feta cheese added to them. Adds a bit of extra flavor. IYKYK. (-‿) Since I've only ever eaten take-away from here, I can't speak much to the interior decorum. That said, their parking lot location is quite tucked in. Add to that, there's a confusing situation involving a normal, two-way road just outside the parking lot; which leads to a bus stop or something, making it seem like you're not permitted to exit that way. Or....perhaps you are? In any case, when accompanying my wife to pick up our order, let's just say it was a bit like trying to find the corner of a circular room to sit in. The front entrance was surprisingly low key, perhaps intentionally so. It's like you'd have to be a local to even know about or appreciate this place. Be that as it may, we are grateful they exist. If nothing else, it serves as a reminder that we don't always have to make the slightly longer drive 4 towns over if we're not feeling that froggy. Anyway, give these folks a try if you're in the area. Wifey swears by the lamb gyros, too - so....there is that. I'm giving Main Street Gyro a humble 4 neatly wrapped chicken gyros with all the fixins inside out of 5.

For a quick early dinner I stopped by Main Street Gyro. At 5pm on a Saturday, it was empty…read more(although pick-up orders streamed in). I ordered a traditional pork gyro ($12.95) and small order of Greek fries ($6.95). Note that the menu lists the price of a full size of fries but you can ask for a half or small portion. I paid at the counter, took a seat, and heard my order called up within 5 minutes. The pork gyro's pita was nice and fluffy (hate it when it's dense), fries had some Cajun-esque seasoning, and the pork was tender and juicy. The Greek fries tasted like fries, with feta cheese and a tangy white sauce. Overall, decent for a casual meal. Not looking for the zenith of gyros here, so it works as a local place.

I had an…read moreawful experience here and cannot see myself coming back, especially for the prices they charge. Perhaps we caught them on an off day, but it was bad. There was only one other table when we arrived. We ordered and waited about 10 minutes. Lentil soup was brought out. It was okay. 10 minutes later, we received our grape leaves... that cost $14.99. We were given four pieces (see photo). That's pretty outrageous. But okay, noted- we'll make sure not to order that next time. Another 10 minutes later, my partner received his falafel wrap. It just wasn't that good. It was pressed so there's no crispy falafel, just squished texture. It also wasn't flavorful at all. I'm waiting for my dish (grilled fish), and by the time my partner finishes the wrap, I see the waitress bringing out grilled fish... which she promptly gives to a table that just sat down. Another table starts to walk out because it's taking so long, but the owner stops them. I let the owner know that I'm ready to leave because my partner is done with dinner and I'm done waiting. She assures me that my fish will be out within 5 minutes. Eventually it comes out, but at this point I'm been waiting for about an hour, everything was brought out so slowly, and the food just wasn't that good. Well the fish and rice was fantastic - great flavor for both. Devoured the whole thing. We also ordered baklava, and again.. disappointing. Too much syrup and soaked to the point of being gummy. This was about $80 for everything. Although the fish was good, I can't handle the bad service and disappointing food.

Some of the menu staples include falafel, chicken shawarma, gyro, kofta, and salads. Chez Rafiki's travel all over Massachusetts bringing their delicious food to various craft breweries, festivals and private catering events. I recently enjoyed some food from Chez Rafiki's at Tree House Brewing Company in Charlton. I was visiting the brewery with my two-year-old son and we decided to get some food from the food truck. I was excited to see that Chez Rafiki's was the food truck that day because I love Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine. After looking over the menu, I decided to order Chez Rafiki's Special: the "Chicken Killer" (Rice, Fries, Chicken Shawarma, Pickled Red Onion, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Garlic Sauce, Feta Cheese). I also ordered a side of Falafel. I absolutely loved the Chicken Killer; a symphony of Mediterranean flavors and spices. My son has never tried this kind of cuisine before. He wouldn't touch the Chicken Killer but he absolutely loved the Falafel. He happily gobbled down half of the Falafel balls. I would definitely order from Chez Rafiki's again if I saw them at another brewery or festival.
