We tried. We so tried. We were told it was under different ownership and we gave it another shot and half a dozen other visits. We ordered the charcuterie board at $26 and it literally had slices of American cheese on it. The entire thing looked like it was bought at Market Basket and dumped on a plate. We order the lamb chops. I ordered them rare and my son ordered them medium. They both came out rare. The service was slow and there were only two other people in the place. They were very nice, just very slow. I feel bad for trashing the place, but it really earned it. The menu is very small and the chefs can't seem to even cook what's on it. Decor is the same. Beautiful and elegant as ever. All in all just terrible. Someone either needs to invest big money into this or shudder it up. read more

We came to PINO for an early Valentine's date night. Our first impression was that the country club is beautiful, and the restaurant is also very lovely. There is a great bar area, a large dining room, and an enclosed patio area. The lighting is subtle and attractive. We started with two dirty martinis that were absolutely perfect. For dinner we decided on a variety of hot and cold Mezze. Everything was delicious and the puffy, warm pita was delightful. We had hummus, calamari, a charcuterie plate, falafel, and shanklish. We really enjoyed everything we ordered and had plenty of leftovers too. Our server was pleasant and very efficient, she provided excellent service. read more

We stayed at the Chateau in January 2025 and I can't say enough about the wonderful flavors, vibes, and unique atmosphere that created for a wonderful night out. I had a good dinner at PINO, which is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar located at Chateau Merrimack. The place has a very nice modern casual upscale atmosphere with ample comfortable table seating with soft seats and colorful pillows, plus high tops and seating at the bar. I stopped in here recently for early Sunday dinner and was promptly seated and they let me choose my table since I was the first customer and sat in the bright greenhouse dining room. I was given a menu to look over. The prices here are on the higher side and everything is ala carte. I started out with the Basterma Charcuterie plate ($24 plus tax), cured brisket, smoked salami, armenian sausage, kashkaval cheese, pickled olives, pickles, cashews and warm soft pita bread with chili and garlic oil dipping sauces. For dinner, the Shawarma Beef Burger ($22 plus tax) had tender grilled beef strips, touch of tzatziki, tomato, red onion, pickles between soft pita bread and a mixed greens on the side. This sandwich had good flavors and filling to eat. The side of Freekeh & Brown Rice ($8 plus tax) was cooked firm and had a mild spiced flavor. I requested a box for the sandwich and I passed on dessert. The check came out to $59.18 with tax and before tip. However the tax charged on the check was 9.6% ($5.18) instead of 7% ($3.78), but whatever. The background music of Cafe De Anatolia (Feel The Touch of the Orient) was playing a bit loud over the speakers. The service here was timely and I received my food promptly, 10-15 minutes after ordering and between courses. The server was very informative about the ingredients of the menu items since I have a few allergies to certain foods. read more

We stopped by since we hadn't been here since the place re-opened after extensive upgrades and new mgt. We sat by the the fire which is wonderful. Enjoyed a nice old fashioned and the hummus/pita app. which was terrific. Service was excellent and all the staff exceptionally welcoming. Only downside, and it is significant and noted by others, is the piped in music - far too LOUD and the genre just doesn't work. Really took away from what was an otherwise terrific evening. What a lovely spot. If you're looking for a place to take your family and blow them away, this is the spot. For starters, Pino is absolutely gorgeous. I felt like I was on vacation with their covered patio seating. Our waitress was the absolute sweetest and so knowledgeable. And the food was absolutely incredible. The sea bass was so tender and fresh, the hummus and muhammara were incredible and so flavorful, the chicken wings were to die for, and the baklava was perfect. The aesthetic and ambiance of the place was great! The staff was very friendly, service was wonderful. But I was very disappointed with the food.. it wasn't what I expected in a fine dining restaurant. My husband and I ordered the chicken parmigiana and chicken brocolli ziti, and both of them looked like they were previously frozen and were just heated up to serve. This is one of those reviews that PAINS me to write, but I must. I would have given it 1/5 star but you can't do that, and its not a one star, but its not a two. Let me 'splain... But not without praising the hard working and lovely staff who had to try to work with the growing pains of a struggling restaurant that couldn't on this night. There are few higher-end restaurants open on Mondays in the area, and with my foodie business associates in tow, I had to find one that a) took reservations and b) could accommodate a 6+ table. Pino hit both on Opentable, so I hit reserve (after consulting with the Yelpie community and some of the UMass Lowell crowd who did tell me it was under new management.. Ok, fair 'nough for us). Drive up, place looks swanky. BIG, spacious, fancy schpantzy wedding-venue-ish type of place. What could go wrong? The place is massive, clean, old-school type of wedding venue. PINO to your right. Walk into a beautiful bar and a sweet bartender. And that is where all the problems start. Later in the evening, I had to voice my issues, and they couldn't be more apologetic. But lets get to the bad, the ugly and the almost redemption. Let's caveat the 2 star, that should be a 5 the people who are like the little train that could if ownership/leadership didn't suck (and I am not talking about Ms Linda or Mike, lets go into the people who invested in the place and the food and beverage manager... serious issues). 1. The bar - TERRIBLY OVERPRICED. And EVEN WORSTLY STOCKED. "We're in between menus" = we don't have most of the things you want to drink or the ingredients to make them; = our wine list is HORRENDOUS and we will charge you BOSTON/NYC prices for drinks and wine for some of the left over selections from previous ownership (this one opened in December...) without the experience - its Tyngsboro and it wasn't a wedding. What are you thinking? SHAME on the Beverage coordinator/manager. SHAME SHAME SHAME!!! Poor server! 2. They inherited a management tool that is still under hostage to the previous owners. So FORGET about asking for separate checks in a table that had met for business and some of the visitors were on perdiem. The look of dispair on the poor server's face was something that was worthy of sympathy. Relatively new staff, with very poor training, they lovingly and patiently tried to manage through the Monday empty restaurant, with people who decided to drink beer (PS they didn't have most of the selections on the list = Beverage coordinator issues...) because (one of them a professional bartender himself) the poor bartender had to try to improvise with the cr-py leftovers he had (Frankenstein drinks) and KNOWING the drinks lack the quality particularly for the cost per drink. They should NOT charge more than 8-10 for what they offer. And don't get me started on the wines and the markup! NYC Broadway or The MET prices without the snobery experience. What is the Beverage coordinator/manager thinking? SERIOUSLY. So the bartender and the waitstaff have to put on their happy face and deliver. And let me tell you, they work HARD for their money, and did it with professionalism and pride in what they do, and made all types of lame excuses for the very poor functioning of their workplace. Commendably loyal and people-caring! 3. Food. GROSSLY OVERPRICED. I don't mind paying $56 for lamb chops. BUT DONT CHARGE ME NYC PRICES AND PUT EVERYTHING A LA CARTE. FOR $56 - add a salad/vegetable and a carb. At a minimum. OR REDUCE TO 3 Chops and cut the price in HALF. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? I've shopped at Restaurant Depot... I KNOW THE PRICE OF FOOD. And your wonderful staff are NOT getting the profits of your markups you greedy snobs! Seriously! I blame this blatant lack of respect for their staff and customers on the owners. The kitchen was SLOOOOOWWWW. We didn't want to order dessert because we were afraid it would come in for breakfast. And don't order the Pannacota. Please take that off the menu - its vile. The food came out cold. As for the taste? Chef came out. Young and has a LOT of potential! Deserves a second chance. But he has to work on the kitchen timing and FLAVOR. Most of the food was BLAND. The puffy pita was warm but lacking salt. Shrimp? Lacking Salt? Shashuka? Cold. The Baklava? Needs a little more spice (cardamom and cinnamon would help to bump it up a bit). $20 for Shashuka? I know eggs are expensive. But, really - Shahuka has few and cheap ingredients: Tomato, red pepper, onion and seasoning. Then 1-2 eggs. The margin on this dish is ridiculous. SERVE ME NYC QUALITY PRODUCT - or reduce the cost to 12 and make it an appetizer. It was good, but wow me for the price. It pained me to give management the feedback, but not without exending our sympathy to the lovely LOVELY staff that struggled to deliver without materials, a slow kitchen, an incomprehensible automated system. My friends and I came here when it was first opened 2 years ago for Thanksgiving (see my other review). The menu and food were Mediterranean focus. The food was delicious. We decided to do thanksgiving here again. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE ORIGINAL MENU. The pictures currently show on Yelp are from the old menu. It is misleading to not remove them. The guy who sat us only gave us the thanksgiving menu and not the regular menu. I had to ask to clarify that they do serve non thanksgiving food. Our waitress was fantastic, but the place was very dark. So much so that we could barely read our poorly printed menu. Anyway, our humus appetizer was meh. The pita bread was cold and store bought quality. My carbonara was ok. My friend enjoyed his thanksgiving dinner. He had an overpriced glass of wine at $28 for 9 oz. Really ?? The desserts options were peach cobbler or blueberry pie. Both were OK with store bought qualities. Without telling us beforehand, the restaurant added 22% tip to the final bill. I am hoping this only happens for Thanksgiving dinner. I didn't look at my final bill closely and added another 20% to the bill. Luckily, my friend brought it to my attention. Lounge themed bar with funky music is casual and sports a tv with Monday nights football and couches but is clean with quartz and fancy decor that gives it an uptown feel. Friendly staff, a great chef and food comparable to any 5 star steakhouse. Israeli based flavors and cuisine with the chefs own flair to make it authentic but unique. Shakshukah made with wagyu or fork tender sirloin, you can't go wrong. Tell Sam hello at the bar and ask her to pour you a glass of 1942. You won't be disappointed with this place. My husband and I felt Pino was very overpriced and made several poor decisions. E.g. lamb chops (5 of them) with no vegetables $56. Had to pay extra for grilled vegetables. Pita bread was not fresh or warm. The caesar salad was tasty. The Manhattan cocktail had too much vermouth. The music was loud and included advertisements!! Music was pop trash for 22 year olds and advertisements were long and loud. Very strange for a "high end" restaurant. No pepper or salt on the table. No freshly ground pepper available. A mistake was made with our bill where they charged us a 32% service charge. When my husband pointed it out they fixed it. The decor is odd, more like a sweet sixteen party space than an upscale restaurant. We will not be returning. read more

The food is very good, authentic Lebanese. very overpriced. $18 for a bowl of cilantro and tomatoes is bold. I ordered lamb and it came out cooked like shoe leather. I was told it's supposed to be cooked that way. Ummmm, no. So they brought another, raw, I think just to prove a point. Didn't eat that and they didn't remove it from the bill. BTW, we waited about 45 minutes for our food, another 20 to get the server's attention, and another 30 to get the raw meat replacement. We waited another 40 minutes for our check. I want this place to be successful - great concept, great food, great location...but you are not a steak house. Your service prevents you from being considered "high end". This is fixable. read more

We had an amazing dinner here on a Sunday night. I honestly could not believe this place exists so close to our home in Lowell. Everything about it made us feel like we were on vacation --- from the music, to the decor, to the friendly staff. Our server was Maylee (I hope I got the spelling correctly!). She took such good care of us all night. As much as we loved the atmosphere, the food absolutely stole the show. The shanklish and tabbouleh were perfect appetizers.. and the kofta lamb and salmon dishes were excellent entrees. We also loved the flavors in the saffron rice and in the sautéed vegetables. Amazing place in the middle of nowhere! Very authentic Mediterranean fare with a Jordanian chef de cuisine. Luis was our server and very attentive and informed about the menu and ingredients. He suggested a mix of the hot and cold mezze to start with - was going to order just hot but went with his recco and it was brilliant. The spices play well between the Shanklish, Lebanese spiced char grilled wings, falafel and a surprisingly light kibbeh. We went for the small plates as we like the variety vs the big entrees. You can't go wrong with anything here. The prickly pear drink was very good and we finished with the heavenly baklava. Go now before the word gets out there! read more

We went there last night - New Year's Eve - for dinner, and I never had a worse restaurant experience in my life. Consider this review a public service announcement. We had reservations for 7:30, arrived on time, and were made to wait nearly forty -five minutes before we were seated. We were then informed that our server would be "right over". Right over turned out to be a half hour later, at which point we were given water, and the half-filled glasses from the previous victims seated there were then removed. We ordered drinks and promptly received them a half hour later, at which point (starving by now) we ordered dinner. So far. so bad. The piece de resistance came twenty minutes later when our clueless server returned to our table and announced (I kid you not) that "we can't give you any food. We have a big party starting soon and there isn't any food for you. " I couldn't believe this, but there was more. "if you want, you can stay for the party and have appetizers. It's 150.00 per person ". Needless to say we passed on this generous offer. I should have demanded to see the manger, or the owner, but by that point I only wanted to leave that pretentious dump. If there were such a thing as restaurant malpractice, I'd be on the phone to my lawyer when his office opened. As for the food, who knows? we were never given so much as a crust of bread. And yes, they charged us for the drinks we ordered. You couldn't make this stuff up. read more

Totally fine and understandable but we were the only people around. Ambience was warm and welcoming except for the very loud club like music that was blaring and never turned down. We are familiar and enjoy Mediterranean food. We ordered some of our favorites. Everything seem to take a very long time however, our server was very kind and apologetic. They made a big presentation with an order of frozen French fries. Things continued to go downhill with an overprice well done steak.... Spinach was mushy in a bowl of water.... OMG this has to be the best restaurant I have been to i years! I just left with my family and we were blown away by this place. We ordered so many appetizers including humus, grape leaves, falafel, spicy potatoes, chicken wings, tabouleh, and fattoush and more and that's just for starters. Every single dish was amazing. We had Prawns and steak and kibbeh and more. We couldn't stop eating. Now we are not stranger to Mediterranean food because my husband and children are middle eastern. We really aren't easy to please but this place far exceeded our expectations. We will be back again and again. If you haven't tried this place, take the plunge. The ambience is very nice but the standard of the food is not really that of a steakhouse. It has the potential for a lot of improvement for service and food. Staff are very nice but some days of the week they are short staffed and the over priced drinks don't really taste as they did when it was made correctly by the bartender. People really try to help out but the chef is the key to business. Our waitress walked by us multiple times as we called her name she ignored and bused empty tables instead. Reservation was 8pm and food didn't come out until 930. Our order was missing 2 items. At the end we spoke to a manger who offered to comp our drinks which we appreciated. Then our waitress put the drinks back on the bill and took off one appetizer instead - not even sure how this part happened it was the fastest part of the whole night to be honest. Apparently they were understaffed but I went here on valentines night so you would think they would be prepared. It was a hot mess from beginning to end. Absolutely one of the best meals I've had this year! The service was incredible (shout out to Nicki, who is truly one of my new favorite people...very kind and had wonderful suggestions for choosing between all the fantastic dishes!), and the ambiance was divine. But the star of course was the food. We got a selection of small plates and main dishes, and I highly recommend the burek fried cheese rolls and the harra spicy potato for starters, as well as the baklava for dessert!
