Ingredients in my build your own grain bowl
    Brianna V.

I decided to give this place a try because there aren't many Mediterranean places around. I ordered online and they texted me updates about my order. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. The restaurant was spacious and looked clean. I ordered a build your own grains bowl with grilled chicken. The bowl also came with a free pita bread. At first I was a little disappointed about the bowl not being filled all the way, but it was still pretty satisfying. The toppings and dressing in my bowl were very flavorful and the harissa had a good spice. I would go back and try something different.

I got to try the new salmon salad and loved it! The new strawberry dressing was also amazing! I just wished their seating was more comfortable that's all. Love the fast service.

Thought I would tryout the new cava restaurant for lunch today. Located in Newington the Berlin turnpike cava is a Mediterranean restaurant serving bowls and pitas . I ordered the harissa avacado bowl which had the harissa honey chicken , feta , avacado, pickled onions, hummus, fire roasted corn , rice , supergreens and harissa vinaigrette. The harissa flavour is a little spicy ( just a little kick to add flavour ) All the ingredients were fresh and delicious I enjoyed the bowl ! Perfect for a healthy lunch ! The portions were large , I ended up eating about half and saving the rest for later . I also got the blue berry lavender drink, which was really good. However the lavender flavour was strong overpowering the blueberry flavour in my opinion. Overall highly recommend, I will be back to try the chicken and rice bowl next

    Grilled Chicken + Rice

Amazing place way better than chipotle in my opinion. Meat is never dry. Different type of toppings. Love the prices. Live how full the bowls are. Staff is always so friendly. Only thing is they should try to clean the line more so there's not a lot of rice and lettuce all over it does not look good to customers especially when we have to see all that when ordering. Clean as you go.

    Galinda dessert

Once again Christmas overload did not disappoint! Switched over from the wizard of oz but they kept the wizard in the room with Christmas spirit Once reservations are made make sure entire party is ready to order at once- the order goes in and can't be changed Save room for dessert- they kept the Glinda dessert on the menu!

I've eaten at recently opened Cava a couple of times now. It's a Mediterranean fast casual. I've had a falafel wrap that was full of tasty sauces, pickles, and veggies. It was very drippy, but super tasty. I've also had a Harissa avocado bowl with chicken. It was maybe a touch spicy for me, but again, It was full of flavor and a step up from most casual chains. The mint lemonade was very tasty too. I live nearby and Cava is firmly in our take out plans now. Four Stars

Cava follows the Chipotle concept, with 'chef curated' options, or you can create your own bowl or pita. We tried the chicken rice bowl, spicy lamb meatballs, and steak mezze salad. Everything was fresh and had a kick of flavor. You can further customize with sauces, hummus, etc. We had a bit of a wait; seems there might have been a shift change, plus there was an issue with the cash register. Still, we enjoyed our healthy meals and the relaxed, upbeat vibe.

Who doesn't love a build your own Mediterranean dish spot?!? I built my own bowl with splendid greens and lentils as the base then added in grilled steak, plus a bunch of toppings. Just be careful although it may seem healthy, things can add up quickly. If you're someone counting your macros I'd suggest ordering through their website. Although I ordered for a 5pm pickup and they weren't done with my order til almost 5:15p. Ambiance is so so, but it is fast food. I'll def return again.

Grain bowl with grilled chicken. Tye hit honey chicken is also very good.

We tried this new place in town tonight. We all enjoyed our meals very much and decided we will def order from there again. I don't know about the ambiance because we ordered delivery but our order was correct, hot and delicious. We ordered the grain bowls, basmati rice, grilled chicken, pickled onions, fiery broccoli, Grilled corn, tzatziki sauce, harissa, shredded lettuce, .... You get to choose basmati, brown rice, or black beans. Or half n half. 2 sauces, 12 or so toppings, a full order of protein or two half orders. Very customizable and very good. They do have pita sandwiches. Which we will try next time. The falafels are very good. We also ordered some house made pita chips with a side of regular hummus. Hopefully they will continue to keep up the great job! Def recommend.

Upon entering in we were greeted by staff. Inside was very clean. Our order was ready early when we got there. Overall, very delicious. Ingredients were super fresh and everything was very flavorful. HOWEVER, the bowl was not super big or filling, which was very disappointing considering it was $15. Not sure if I would return because of this.

    Cucumber Lime Mint Drink

Our area's first Cava! We went for dinner on a Tuesday and it's the second full week open. I've never been to a Cava before so I don't have anything to compare to service wise, but they seemed to know what they're doing - and it was a lot smoother than recent Chipotle visits (the only thing I can compare to). I got the Steak Mezze Salad and I LOVED IT. I like how you can create your own (Chipotle Style) or get one of their selected menu items like what I ordered. We had to wait a couple minutes for them to make more steak, but it was a quick and they had about 10+ people working (again, compared to the like 3 usually working at Chipotle). Their house made drinks also blew me away! I loved the Cucumber Mint Lime and could have drank a gallon of that. We will DEFINITELY be back. As a Chipotle obsessed junkie........ Chipotle who?

Lamb meat balls and falafel bowl
    Renee A.

This was our first time and it was a bit overwhelming. There are so many choices. The bowls we picked were very flavorful! I had the chicken and rice, my DH got the lamb meat balls and falafel. He would have liked more of both. But the flavors were still good! I think that we need to go back and explore the menu some more!

Decent food, but overpriced. Tons of staff, but service is very slow. Plus, the falafel should be warm, but it was ice cold.

I also got the salted malted hazelnut cookie. I will say their pastries and coffee are probably the best thing! As for the food again, it's very salty! We tried the pepperoni pizza this time, and although pepperoni is salty, it was a little bit overboard. We also tried another salad and again it was completely drenched in dressing. Half of our order was completed when we sat down. I was able to finish my pizza before the salad came out. I wish everything was a little bit more organized, and came out together.

It's not trying too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Feels like a spot where regulars post up, sip coffee, and take their time. No rush, no nonsense, ust good energy. And then the sandwich shows up... and flips the script. This isn't breakfast. This is a stacked, unapologetic morning statement. The Overloaded Egg Sando Griddled brioche bun, soft, buttery, just enough toast to hold things together (barely). Under that, a crispy hash brown doing the heavy lifting, adding crunch and soaking up all the goodness. Sausage brings that savory backbone, while the spinach scrambled eggs stay fluffy and rich. Then you get that creamy hit from the smashed avocado, melted smoked gouda layering in a subtle smokiness, and finally... the gochujang aioli. That aioli is the move. Sweet heat, a little funk, a little tang, cuts right through the richness and keeps every bite from getting too heavy. And let's be honest... Had to unhinge my jaw like a snake just to take the first bite. This thing is messy, stacked, and fully committed to the cause. Not first-date food. Not "eat it in the car" food. This is sit-down, take-a-minute, maybe-need-a-nap-after kind of food. The best part? The space balances it perfectly. Big, bold sandwich... calm, easygoing room. That's a combo I'll go back for every time.

But they also serve some familiar things in different ways. For instance, the jerk chicken and shrimp wraps. They also offer rice bowls with your choice of proteins. The rice pics I saw looked like white rice, rather than the rice and peas I generally see at Jamaican restaurants. I always order a beef patty when I try a new Jamaican place. Parishes' had very good flavor and good texture. I also ordered a jerk chicken wrap. The chicken was cut into small bite size pieces and served in a thin wrap with shredded lettuce, tomato, onions, peppers cheese and dressing. The wrap worked fairly well as a whole, but it could have been served by any number of types of restaurants. Meaning, that I didn't really pick up much of Jerk or Jamaican flavor as it was served. Maybe because there was a good bit of lettuce and I'm usually eating jerk chicken off the bone. You could have told me it was a chicken Caesar Wrap and I would have believed it. Again, it was good. Just not quite what I expected. The eatery was cool, well decorated and had a friendly vibe. A few regulars came and went while I was there and the crew had a good rapport with them. I would definitely go back to try the Rasta Pasta or something like that. If you're in the area, Parishes is well worth checking out. Four Stars

The wrap itself, however, fell a little flat for me--the flavors were milder than I expected, and I was hoping for more of that bold, spicy jerk kick. That said, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the portion size was generous. Looking at photos of the restaurant, the space has a stylish, artisan vibe that I'd love to experience in person. While this dish didn't wow me, I'm open to giving them another try in-house--sometimes ambiance and fresh-off-the-grill food make all the difference.
