Another Halal spot! I actually found this one prior to the other establishment I recently reviewed. This location is right near CCSU, very convenient, & it's along side some other businesses. The service here is good & the staff is nice! They don't skimp on portions which is great because I always end up with leftovers for the following day. The ambiance inside is bright and friendly. The main dish I love to try is of course, the chicken over rice. I enjoyed it very much! They allow you to pick and choose the toppings you'd like such as hummus, lettuce, and other veggies. They also have 3 different sauce options to add on top. The menu has a variety of other dishes available that I've yet tried. We came in and the restaurant was pretty dead. Loud music playing (fine, definitely inappropriate songs for my toddler who was with me but it was late so we didn't mind). We ordered nuggets and a chicken sandwich. Should've been suspicious when it came out in about ten minutes I guess but we didn't think twice. The nuggets tasted like dry rubber but the chicken sandwich was criminally undercooked. Literally just raw chicken. Stuff of nightmares. It's not a place I think of to sit and enjoy a dining experience, as it strikes me as more of a "grab and go" place, but that's completely fine. For my first time being there, I didn't expect much given that they just opened a couple days prior. What I came to discover is a very welcoming staff that was more than happy to take my order despite being minutes away from closing. The food itself is a big selling point being that it's far more healthy, affordable, and tasteful than it's surrounding competition. Especially late at night where your only options for food are fast food or gas station meals.
