Loved the food here we got the lamb and chicken combo with white sauce olives cabbage salad chickpeas and green sauce and it was amazing. We also tried the shawarma platter too and it was really good as well..the meat is tender and seasoned great . The service is always quick and great as well. I love Halal food, Middle Eastern food is absolutely delicious. I've eaten quite a lot of it. I for the life of me cannot understand the hype of this place. The texture of everything was generally spongy. There was no intensity to the flavors. When I want food from this region of the world, I expect an herbaceous punch, spices that linger making every bite more interesting than the last. Pick up order. The food was prepared in a reasonable time. Unfortunately the falafel didn't taste as good as the first time they open. I wasn't too crazy about the basmati rice, didn't feel fresh. They missed the white sauce for my husband's order and I had to share my only package. Another Halal spot! I actually found this one prior to the other establishment I recently reviewed. This location is right near CCSU, very convenient, & it's along side some other businesses. The service here is good & the staff is nice! They don't skimp on portions which is great because I always end up with leftovers for the following day. The ambiance inside is bright and friendly. The main dish I love to try is of course, the chicken over rice. I enjoyed it very much! They allow you to pick and choose the toppings you'd like such as hummus, lettuce, and other veggies. They also have 3 different sauce options to add on top. The menu has a variety of other dishes available that I've yet tried. We came in and the restaurant was pretty dead. Loud music playing (fine, definitely inappropriate songs for my toddler who was with me but it was late so we didn't mind). We ordered nuggets and a chicken sandwich. Should've been suspicious when it came out in about ten minutes I guess but we didn't think twice. The nuggets tasted like dry rubber but the chicken sandwich was criminally undercooked. Literally just raw chicken. Stuff of nightmares. We didn't even get refunded after calling the restaurant we definitely won't be back and recommend staying far away from the chicken sandwiches unless you're actively seeking salmonella. read more

Why does my white sauce taste like ranch?! service was ok and the ambiance is cool seeing that there's a college nearby. This was very disappointing for me, this comes nowhere close to New Yorks halal food. Food was ok, nothing special. Service was great, bunch of kids, place was clean. Food had no flavor. I could see if you were drunk at 1am and wanted something different from pizza and burgers. While eating honestly couldn't tell if I had covid or not or if the food was honestly so bland. the best part of the entire meal was the pita bread. White sauce is highly overrated. Food is delicious and very well priced. Staff is kind and restaurant is clean and well maintained. It's not a place I think of to sit and enjoy a dining experience, as it strikes me as more of a "grab and go" place, but that's completely fine. When I'm out and about enjoying my day, I usually consider passing by and grabbing a meal to-go to better my day because the food is so good. I recently discovered they have a DoorDash happy hour and you get 2 meals for the price of 1. I had one for dinner and another for lunch the next day. Don't know how long that will last but what an incredible offer for such good food. They are also open pretty late compared to most places. read more

Got delivery from Shah's to try a new shwarma place in the area. Lamb shwarma was fine - not great, not horrible. Lamb was over cooked and cubed, instead of shaved. Falafel pita was inedible. For my first time being there, I didn't expect much given that they just opened a couple days prior. What I came to discover is a very welcoming staff that was more than happy to take my order despite being minutes away from closing. The food itself is a big selling point being that it's far more healthy, affordable, and tasteful than it's surrounding competition. Especially late at night where your only options for food are fast food or gas station meals. Overall, my experience was fantastic, their food was excellent, and I didn't have to spend upwards of $20 just for a meal. 10/10 read more

Amazing food at a very reasonable price. I ordered catering for 30 people and got very generous amount of food. And got enough sauces to last me a lifetime! Customer service is amazing. Staff was polite, gave great recommendations. I've been on 4 separate occasions and each time the food was always fresh. Fish was crispy, chicken was juicy. Just had order from Uber and it was so delicious and well seasoned. They offered a buy one get one so can't go wrong. Had the lamb and chicken over rice and lamb gyro. Seasoning of meat and rice was good. Sauces - both white and red and green were also tasty. Meat was chopped but juicy. They even gave extra sauces and pita which was good. I recently visited Shah's Halal Food for the first time, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious--fresh and made to order, with incredible flavors that left us satisfied. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service. Being our first time there, we weren't sure what to order or how the process worked, but the person behind the counter was so kind and helpful. They even went the extra mile by offering us samples of different items to ensure we enjoyed what we were ordering. A few days later, I returned with my daughter, and we had another amazing experience. Once again, we were offered different items to try, and my daughter was equally impressed. Shah's customer service is simply outstanding, and their food quality is top-notch. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh, delicious halal food with excellent service!!! read more

The staff behind the counter were incredibly friendly and welcoming, genuinely some of the nicest people I've encountered at any restaurant. The manager and team clearly take pride in the place. While we were eating, the manager even came over to our table to check on us and make sure the food met their standards and that everything was good. That kind of attention to customers really makes a difference and shows how much they care about the experience. The food was excellent as well.
