Shopping is a workout! I love this Cava right by Short Pump mall. I recently did all of my Christmas shopping and found myself starving. I wanted something quick and healthy and Cava was the perfect place. I've been to this one a few times and it's always clean, spacious, and quick. It seems like a lot of people meet up here, so it's great for groups. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I love to get a greens and grains bowl when I come. The grilled chicken is my fave. I recently tried the shawarma chicken and still prefer the grilled one for more flavor. The lentils and super greens are my go-to and I get every topping available. You're even able to get a free side pita. Cava is the best and this one is a great location with lots of free parking in front. read more

First try was in Austin, TX and it was absolutely amazing with farm to fresh options. Since starch was off my dietary menu having Quiona available was awesome to pair up with the other options they offered as well as their fresh fruit teas. The Chef actually explained how their ordering works and where their food ingredients come from and the process of creating this restaurant and ingredient options. Their restaurant was open airy with an open glass shielded food area and light toned wooden tables and chairs. Second time in Midlothian area they only had white rice available and their options looked old and wilted so we left and the restaurant did not feel very welcoming. I will be more than pleased to try this location with hopes that it is like the first location with vibrant and fresh ingredients to choose from. read more

When you walk in, it looks like a knock off of chipotle, but it isn't. The line is the same though, but that's about where it ends. You tell them if you want a bowl or what, white rice or brown, what meat, and then toppings. But there's toppings like different types of hummus, with other overlapping toppings like corn or tomatoes. I appreciated the drink fountain having different sodas than I'm used to, but overall having the air conditioning blowing while there's still ice outside was a definite detractor to my visit. My husband is out of town and I didn't feel like cooking, but wanted something healthy for my daughters and me. I haven't tried Cava but they rave about it, so we placed an order online and picked it up. I got the greens and grain bowl with lentils and half falafel and half lamb meatballs. I thought the falafel was awesome! I added the super greens, hummus, a bunch of the toppings and the shoog (probably spelling it wrong) dressing and the Greek dressing in case. Loved both of them. The side of pita was nice too, and I used it to scoop up the hummus. I looked at their menu and there are tons of choices, so I'll definitely be back to work my way through the menu. read more

I had a mobile order for three different bowls and they were made very quickly and were ready in 10 minutes. My spicy lamb bowl ($14) was mostly made correctly just forgetting to add corn. The lamb meatball were quite good, but seemed a little small( a total of 3 meatball? and could've definitely had another one or two in addition. Overall flavors were quite good, I personally tried a bunch of toppings and sauce that didn't mesh well (my fault for mixing to many things) but amazing by themselves. read more

What amazes me about some people that leave reviews for this restaurant is the low scores you give it and the things you complain about. As a customer you are not always right. I love the people who work here. They are helpful and they always let me know if changes are soon to come to the menu especially, if it's something they know I like that might be going away. The food is always awesome and the store is always clean. Stop expecting 10 stars out of a 5 star restaurant. Cava is here to serve the community, not kiss your backside. I think that some of you guys are simply just a**holes and look for hand outs because it's a thing or two you don't like. I visited this location 40 minutes before they closed and they were completely out of everything which is absolutely ridiculous! The person who worked the front acted like I was an inconvenience to her as you could tell she was trying to wrap up her evening and go home very quickly. Nothing was available for purchase and the cashier acted like it was my fault that they didn't have any food available. I will not be back to this location! The chicken that was in my bowl was extremely dry and you could tell they gave me the last little bit of whatever they were trying to put out. Worst money ever spent. read more

I think this is one of the better Cava locations in the Richmond area. I've been to this one several times and the staff is always friendly and does their best to keep the line moving when their is one. Food on the line is usually kept well stocked and fresh, which is not always the case at other locations I've been to. There is a lot of seating at this location too, both inside and outside. Seating inside is mostly booth style seating or half booth/table style seating. There is a large covered patio outside with fans, so it's pretty enjoyable even on a warmer day. If you're in the short pump area, especially close to the mall and looking for a quick bite to eat, I would highly consider this Cava location! read more

It was very busy on a Thursday around noon the day after New Years. The line extended into the seating area which made it very awkward to move around. In order to get to most of the tables, you had to cut through the line. Also, all the forks/napkins/drink station are on one end of the restaurant - again you had to cut through the line. It would be nice to at least have some napkins at both ends. They need a better plan! It took about 8 minutes to reach the counter to order. Once we placed our order, it was prepared within minutes. My husband and I shared a Greek Chicken pita sandwich as it is large enough for two people (at least us two people!). It was very sloppy to eat, and we used my husband's pocketknife to cut it into sections. We both enjoyed the flavors and textures. Unfortunately, we both had a bad case of the burps afterward. I appreciated that there was not a tip line on the receipt, and I did not notice a tip jar anywhere. Kudos for paying your staff fairly. Food is good as with all Cava's. My issue comes with honesty. Cashier rang up our order before scanning our app, where we had rewards. I scanned and asked if it would still go through to which I was told the rewards amount was taken off. I asked for my receipt which showed it was not. In general, I find there is a consistent issue with orders being processed before allowing customers to scan their app. I know they are trying to crank people through but why have a reward system if you're not going to allow customers to use it. read more

Finally let my coworkers convince me to trying Cava for the first time. Work close by, and a group of placed a pickup order. I ordered the kids meal: chicken pita w/ broccoli and corn. Came with pita chips. The good: the pita chips (never had before) were a 10/5. Good as hell!! Don't know how they fried them, or what seasonings they tossed them in, but I took them down with no heat on them, delicioussss. Everything else: My coworkers kept trying to describe the taste as a "Greek/Mediterranean Chipotle" listen here; Chipotle is CHIPOTLE and Cava is CAVA, they ain't nothing alike!! I don't wanna say it was the nastiest, but it's definitely not my speed Very different flavors. And it seemed dry to me, the rice, the chicken, even the broccoli (that gave more confetti, like the put it in the shredder). This is my go to location for all things Mediterranean. Who doesn't love Cava? This location is right near Short Pump Mall. The outdoor seating has fans so even on a warm day you'll still be able to enjoy the patio area. During covid they offered curbside pick-up since then curbside isn't offered anymore but pickup is still an option! The food always tastes delicious and fresh. My only wish is that when choosing to do falafel for the protein that they would give more than 5 although you can pay for extra. The location is always clean. Pickup is efficient. If you do pickup make sure to get utensils and napkins as it usually isn't placed in the bag upon pickup. read more

Why am I paying "extra" for a rotten avacado? I love cava but every time I go there either this location or Midlothian, they always give me rotting avacado. I just picked up my online order and of course this time I couldn't tell them to please make sure the avacado isn't rotten or hard (not ripe). Shouldn't that be common restaurant courtesy to not serve that to your customers? And then on top of that you're going to charge them for the rotten stuff?????
