Top notch service today! I found that on one previous visit the service was a bit lacking. Immediately greeted and brought to the bar area where I requested o sit. The server/bartender immediately brought me menus and some water. He checked in on me after a few minutes asking if I had any questions. Once ordered my food was presented within 10 minutes which is appreciated at lunch time. I ordered the 2 taco special which came with chips, dip and plantains. The food was hot and tasty, I ordered the jerk chick and Korean brisket tacos. The restaurant has an elevated Mexican theme and is very comfortable. There's plenty of parking since this is a street mall area.

Decided to check this place out upon yelp search to get some food/drink on Friday night and the place was quite packed. We got bar tables to avoid waiting and the experience wasn't compromised. The bartender was very attentive and we enjoyed the food/drink. For casual post-work dine-in food/drink recommend checking this place out!

We were in town for a short weekend and wanted to try something close to our hotel but unique to the area. My family loves Asian and Mexican cuisine and thought this is the perfect spot blending our loves. While they were busy, we were immediately greeted and taken to seats. The interior is a unique blend of both cultures but doesn't feel cohesive and complimentary. A few murals on the wall represent the Hispanic culture and paper lanterns and a few scattered oriental items scattered around. Decor aside, the menu had an interesting mix of items. I think k this spot missed an opportunity to offer a fusion "chips and salsa" item that is so common and welcomed with Mexican establishments. Asian cuisine has so many tasty Saunders that would be fantastic on some chips. We decided to do a tasting of a few different things. We tried the crispy brussel sprouts, shrimp bao buns, chorizo eggrolls, chili lime chicken tacos, mexinese fried rice and beef bulgogi fajitas. Food seems like it comes out as it's ready so we had Brussel sprouts shortly after ordering , followed by bao buns, chicken tacos and eggrolls. The fajitas took awhile to come out so we snack on what had arrived. Brussel sand accompanying sauce were excellent. The shrimp were huge and delicious , the sauce on the bao buns was amazing. The bun its self was weird. It had a crumbly texture and would not stay together. It was almost like it was a corn tortilla not soft and chewy like I'm accustomed to in bao buns. We ended up eating the filling only. The chorizo eggrolls were delicious and unique. The chili lime tacos were ok. Nothing special and not as tasty as our other dishes. When the bulgogi fajitas came out they had an excellent presentation however they were extremely chewy and missing that signature crispy pieces. They were our most disappointing order. We ended up leaving a big portion of it behind. All in all it's a cute locals spot with some noteworthy dishes.

Great food! Especially the brussel sprouts taco, if you're on the fence(like I was), I say get em! It was the best thing we ate! The burrito turned rice bowl was also good and large portion! The only thing about it is that it felt like I could make a very similar version at home. The chicken lime taco was ok, but the other two dishes were awesome. The ambience is nice, large spacious booths and tables with interesting decor around the room! Service was great, no issues! Overall I would say it's a great restaurant, just probably not gonna be in top 10 places to go(based on what I had!)

Visited Wong's Tacos on recommendation for the first time yesterday. It was a fantastic restaurant, and I would generally say that the appetizers are preferable to the tacos in terms of what I'm used to. The tacos were also good, but could definitely benefit from a bit more complexity in seasoning, the service was excellent, and the ambience of the restaurant was also exceptional our server was extremely kind expedient and helpful.

When in Short Pump, a trip to Wong's is a must. I love their Mexican/Asian fusion. Their Brussels sprout taco is something I dream about. Lots of great menu options- kids included. And a super yummy drink menu! A night out or a dinner with family- this is a great spot.

The char siu tempura chicken wings are AMAZING!! We have been meaning to try Wongs for months and i'm so glad we did! The bao was incredibly soft and well balanced. The low light was the burrito but everything else from the corn to the tacos were amazing! The burrito wasn't bad but it just wasn't on the same level as everything else. We did take out but the inside seemed clean and well decorated. The hostess was welcoming and quick to help.

Everything I ate here was delicious and my waiter was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back and I'm already suggesting it to friends for a meet up. I like how you can order individual tacos so you can mix and match to your taste. The Bulgogi Asada was hands down my favorite. I could have eaten a couple of these. Second runner up was the Chili Lime Chicken. Much lighter than the Asada with more bite but not a lot of heat. I also got the nachos knowing I wouldn't be able to eat them all but I had plenty to take home for lunch tomorrow. Lots of ground beef and charred corn. Not full of filler items. The chips are light & crispy and the cilantro crème sauce was so good. Plenty for three people as an appetizer or two people as a dish. The prices aren't bad. The tacos run $4-6 each and they are not skimpy on the fillings. The nachos were around $13 so my entire bill with tip was $30 and well worth it, with leftovers. They also have a very nice, large patio outside that I would like to try. Overall good food, good service and a good vibe. I'll be back.

Crispy Kung Pao chicken and Crispy brussel sprout tacos
    Michele F.

This was my first time here. I came with two friends who raved about the tacos. I decided to try a crispy brussel sprout and a crispy Kung Pao chicken taco. Both tacos were cold when served, which made the chicken pretty tough to eat. I really liked the flavor of the brussel sprout taco as it had a lot of spice, but was kind of disappointed with the lackluster Kung Pao chicken, which was not spicy at all. Later I decided to order a Bulgogi Asada taco, which was served warm, but was dripping with oil and also had very little flavor. My friends commented that the tacos were better the last time they came, so maybe they were just having an off night. I'd give them another try as it's a cool place.

A fusion you wouldn't expect but it delivers in taste. I love trying different tacos each time I visit. I've always had a pleasant visit every time I have made it here. The food always delivers in a timely manner, staff are pleasant and it is especially nice to sit outside and enjoy your food on a warm evening.

It was fine - I'm not sure the Mexican/Asian fusion was executed super well here...I think I would prefer one or the other; not both. The nachos were the best thing we had. The tacos were just okay. The chorizo eggrolls didn't have much flavor. Service was also okay, but they did seem a little busy. Although their margarita on the rocks was amazing.

This is the fresh margarita (margarita fresca) fresh squeezed citrus with a dark tequila mixed with magic. Gelicio and Martin are the staples of the restaurant. You must come to Short Pump for this one! I love their Birria tacos, fajitas, and for a simple day their Al carte tacos. The service here is the best in town because they make it a point to get to know you and they do their best to know your favorites. This place is very clean and the first thing I do is wash my hands to see the condition of the bathroom. The bathroom is clean and always stacked. The glasses and plates are always clean as expected. And the environment is as clean as you can get it. I will definitely come back and I will definitely have another margarita

Its fine. Went here…read morefor the first time a few days ago. I was curious as to what the experience would be like as there are so many Mexican restaurants available to choose from in the RVA area. We went with some friends of ours; they say that this is their go-to Mexican restaurant. The service, location, ambiance, menu choices were all fine. However, my husband and I simply didn't enjoy the food as much as we do at other Mexican places here in town. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas, and they overcooked the chicken so it was pretty dry. Husband ordered a few different enchiladas and stated that they were "okay" but that he preferred other restaurants' red sauce to theirs. Chips were overcooked, salsa was good. White sauce good. Our friends seemed to enjoy their food just fine. Maybe the dry chicken was a fluke, but I'd choose other Mexican places to this one myself in the future. It just didn't stand out amongst the glut of Mexican gems we have here.
