As far as fast casual chains go, cava is my new favorite. My favorite base is 1/2 brown rice 1/2 cruciferous crunch - not what they call it. It's the vegetables like Brussels, cabbage etc. meat- I haven't been able to get anything else except the braised lamb, dollop of harissa hummus for a wonderful kick, and then all the toppings except lettuce and feta. Try their new bbq harissa pita chips! They're delicious. So excited that we finally have a CAVA in the VC. read more

If I had done a review the last time I went to this location, it would be 0-1 stars. But my visit today, was much improved! It was cleaner, there was more staff, and the staff was so much better and more efficient and pleasant! This time I got what I ordered, and the staff always mentioned when it was an extra charge (which I very much appreciate knowing BEFORE check out). The third time, they left off PAID ingredients so I called and spoke to the manager who promised she's remake it herself. When I got there it was wrong again. I recently went to the grand opening of this location and I was very impressed. This was my first CAVA experience and I love Mediterranean cuisine in general. Easy location to get to with lots of parking because it's in a shopping center. There are tables to sit at inside and outside. I like that they have the option to build your own bowl. I went with the Salmon and Yogurt Dill bowl ($17.30) and it was really tasty and filling. While it is one of their bowls, you can still customize what toppings you want which is nice. For a side, I tried the classic pita chips. In my opinion, there were a little too overseasoned but they still tasted good. Great choice of beverage options too, with healthier sodas and juices. I really liked the housemade cucumber mint lime drink which wax super refreshing. Overall, I thought the pricing and value of the meal was fair. The workers were also very helpful for this CAVA first-timer. I'm excited to go back and try other things on the menu! read more

I am usually a fan of Cava, but this location doesn't quite seem ready to be open yet. The food itself was good, but the portion sizes were really disappointing, especially for the price. They definitely need to work on their bowl filling quantities because I left feeling pretty jipped. This location took over the old Natural Cafe spot, so I was excited to try it out. I ordered the BYO Greens + Grains Bowl with: Half Power Greens Half Black Lentils Red Pepper Hummus Glazed Salmon Avocado Fire-Roasted Corn Tomato + Cucumber Kalamata Olives Pita Crisps Balsamic Date Vinaigrette (on the side) Side Pita Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, but there just wasn't enough food in the bowl compared to what I've gotten at other Cava locations. One positive is that parking is super easy since it is located in a larger shopping center, which is definitely convenient. I've been waiting years for a CAVA to open nearby and it's finally open! CAVA is one of my favorite places to eat when I'm wanting a healthier meal. My go-to meal is the greens and grains bowl with chicken. CAVA has premade menu options for salads, bowls, and pitas. They also allow you to choose all of your ingredients in an assembly line like Chipotle. Anything you choose will be great! They also have delicious lemonades to choose from. This location has limited indoor seating, but a lot of tables outside. The parking lot can be busy since it's in a plaza with a lot of other businesses. CAVA has an app which makes grab n go very easy and convenient. My first visit to this CAVA was great! My food was fresh and delicious. The employees were friendly. As Cava is relatively new to this strip mall, we decided to drop for take out. Immediately upon entering, I was struck by the loud blaring music. It was interesting that no one was eating inside. Maybe it was just coincidental or maybe the volume of the music would not allow for conversation during a meal. The restaurant is cafeteria style in that you you have choices . You choose your base, protein and then toppings and dressing. We opted for the falafel bowls with added roasted vegetables. One is also given a choice of pita, toasted pita bread or pita chips. The bowls were tasty and filling and the folks behind the counter were helpful. My only objection is that everything is measured out very carefully. This didn't allow any flexibility. For example, I could not have two scoops of cucumber if I declined a scoop of tomato. Would suggest a degree of flexibility in bowl preparation. Cava shares a parking lot with the other stores in the strip mall. At peak hours, the parking can be challenging. read more

Heard about the chain and tried it out today.I selected a bowl with salmon and chicken ( paid extra for another meat), half grain and salad bottom. Hummus, harissa, and tomato cucumber mix, feta and olives. I got sauce on the side but didn't need it. Tasty. Staff was friendly, inside as some seats. In a plaza so easy parking. Seeing that it is a newer business , there's always some kinks to iron out. I went in earlier tonight and noticed the young male wearing gloves serving food, he made his way to the register , touched the register , hands over the bag to the customer with the same gloves , and proceeds to grabbing a pita for the next customer without changing his gloves. Because of that, I don't have time to open everything and double-check my order before I leave. When I got back to work, I realized my order was completely wrong. I ordered saffron basmati rice and romaine lettuce, but instead received lentils and kale. On top of that, there was one giant chunk of feta instead of it being crumbled throughout the bowl and some dip that I didn't ask for. Since I'm on a timed lunch break, I didn't have enough time to go back and have it remade. I was stuck with a lunch I didn't order and wasn't able to enjoy. It's a shame because I really love CAVA, which makes this even more disappointing. When your entire order is wrong and you don't have the time to get it fixed, it really takes away from the experience. Cava has great customer service every time I go for pickup. Celeste is a sweetheart! My order was ready before promised! I was a bit bummed that they were out of Romain lettuce, but the great substitution was power greens. Great customer service goes a long way to me- and that's what I got here! I've been 3x already and so far the food everything is great. Some of these negative reviews are such non issues but that's just my opinion. Anywho I stick to my order the Pita with spicy lamb meatballs (at both topanga and Westlake you get 4-5 meatballs but very filling) with hummus, eggplant dip, crazy feta, feta cheese, some veggies and tahini sauce. It's just as amazing as the topanga location. They are very busy already as the 3x I've went in the line was long and tables were full but line was moving fast. I will definitely be back. read more

It was my first time visiting, and we were very excited to try it. We ordered the salmon, but I was disappointed with the portion size--it seemed quite small for the price. The restaurant was very busy around 1:30 p.m., and the line was long. The sauce was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the salmon itself tasted far too fishy. Without the sauce, it would have been very difficult to eat. At first, I thought it might just be me, so I asked my coworker what she thought, and she felt exactly the same way. This was my first-ever visit to CAVA, and unfortunately it left a terrible first impression. On Sunday (7/5), I ordered the Steak + Harissa. While my meal was being prepared, one of the servers let me know they were almost out of steak and that more would be coming soon. They offered to substitute chicken, but I specifically wanted the steak and politely said I didn't mind waiting. Instead of being met with understanding, I felt like my response was treated as an inconvenience. The interaction came across as rude and dismissive, which immediately made me feel unwelcome. What should have been a short delay turned into a 15-minute wait. During that time, a couple of customers who ordered after me also chose steak and ended up waiting as well while a new batch was being prepared. The grill didn't seem to be attended to with much urgency, making the delay even more frustrating for everyone waiting. To make matters worse, the only open booth available while I waited hadn't been cleaned and was visibly dirty, adding to the poor overall experience. When I finally received my food, the steak was practically inedible. It was so overwhelmingly salty that I couldn't eat it. I even had my friends taste it to make sure it wasn't just me, and they immediately spit it out because of how salty it was. After waiting that long, it honestly felt like my meal had been prepared with little care or attention to quality. Whether it was an honest mistake or something else, the end result was incredibly disappointing and left me feeling disrespected as a customer. The one bright spot was Stephen. When I brought the issue to his attention, he was professional, understanding, and genuinely helpful. He was the only positive part of my first experience at CAVA. A first visit should make you want to come back. Instead, I left frustrated, disappointed, and questioning whether I'd ever return. Actually I went in not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised .... By the food . The service - with one exception was .... Lacking ! especially on the part of the manager : Cheyenne. Addison one of the staff behind the counter saved the day !!!! Unlike Cheyenne - Addison was gracious and happy and so accommodating- She made me think about returning. Not Cheyenne. Not only was she annoying and off putting but she instructed Addison to clean the window sills at the windows directly in front of our table . Addison was once again so gracious and apologized - Who asks someone to clean while guests are eating? The answer: A bad manager. Food was good nothing special, service was alright, workers don't say much and they don't greet you. The price is probably the biggest problem, $18 for a bowl is pretty pricey when I can get a more filling bowl at chipotle for $13. That $5 difference adds up. Portions are okay but again chipotle gives more, which is crazy with the whole small portions at chipotle. You get your food quickly so that's is a plus. This is the chipotle of Mediterranean food. It's fine but really expensive. A bowl or pita with a drink $23. The dips of babaganoush or hummus or harissa are like a teaspoon. The meat provided is very small portion but you can get many veggies. Better options around like soom soom and Mediterranean pita, but still very popular. The line was pretty long at lunch but moved quickly. People are nice but probably wouldn't go back due to the price to portion ratio. read more

im CAVA lover so I was pretty excited for it to open close to me so I would not have to drive 25 minutes to Topanga to Get CAVA. I have been to the Westlake Village location three times and each time they disappoint me. The place is clean and the staff is friendly but they don't have good customer service etiquette. So I picked A build your own bowl with mixed greens, brown rice, and lentils but before I could fin the young lady stated you can't have both. However I do understand their rules but the prop thing to say is this bowl comes with one item you can have both but that will be extra is that ok. You should never tell a paying customer what they can not have I have never in my life heard of such a thing. I felt like walking out. But this will definitely be my last time going to that location. Please try the CAVA in Topanga I promise you will not be disappointed. read more

I was so excited about this new restaurant but a bit disappointed on my first visit. We wanted to pre-order and pick up, so I clicked on "menu". I was surprised to see what just looked like a customer "photo" of a very limited menu. My daughter saw it and said, oh they have so much more! If I had walked through the line I might've ordered differently. We got the Harissa Avocado & Falafel Crunch from the "chef-curated bowls". For one they were waaay too spicy. Secondly both bowls had too little of the main protein & too little hummus ,feta & avocado but a lot of nice yummy veggies. It felt like a bit of rip off. If i had walked through the line and seen those portions I would've asked for double protein, double hummus ... etc. There were 3 small dry falafel balls and that combined with hardly any hummus was a real unsatisfactory bummer, especially considering the prices. Sometimes restaurants need time to dial it in , so I'll give it one more chance. read more
