I go here almost every week. Their food does not disappoint! I started coming here ever since they first opened. It was nice when they had you order and get your own food but covid took it away. Now, you just need to go up to the cashier and order your food or order it from your table online. I use the urban plates club pass because I go there a lot and their discounts are great. Their service is decent. They have many seating options and sizes from big 8 people tables to 2 people tables. Their food is good and comes in large portions if your order the right dishes. They sometimes have chef spotlight and dishes are cheaper which is nice. I usually order the Mushroom and Beef Stew, Chimichurri Steak, and Chicken Cobb Salad, and they are really good. This time I went I wanted to try something new so I ordered the Roasted Barramundi Sea Bass and the fish was giant! The sauce it came with was really good. Such yummy food! Great for lunch. And their staff is very sweet too! I had the flank steak with Brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes with an Arnold Palmer on the side. Everything was delicious! Amazing place to get together here at urban plates with friends. They had a Mother's Day event with a rose with pudding for the mothers. It was sweet. I come here for the kids steak platter , it's just enough food for light eaters like myself . My husband almost always has the nicois salad and we never leave without those famous cowgirl cookies . Service is fast and the restaurant is very clean, i love the open kitchen style because you get to see how it's all put together . We had this place called urban plates that does all different types of things. We got it delivered and took a while to get to us but it was relatively warm. I had the steak plate with a side of macaroni and cheese and herb roasted potatoes with the Cantaloupe Mango Pineapple Replenisher. The best part of the meal was the potatoes. They were nice and garlicky when you bite into them they melt in your mouth. Very delicious!! The steak was ok it was a tab bit juicy but definitely lacked seasoning. And could have been a bit more tender. The macaroni was ok could of been a bit cheesy and creamier. The replenisher was not for me but i could see how someone would love it. read more

The food here is super fresh, and extremely tasty. We got a shrimp skewer as well as a beef plate. The mashed potatoes are perfectly buttery, and the meat is tender- not chewy at all. The shrimp skewer was also delectable to add on the side for $5.50. The inside is clean, modern, and spacious, perfect for meetings or dinners out. Stopped here for lunch while traveling. It is located in a nice mall, but on one of the ends so it is easily accessible without a walking through the entire mall. Plenty of parking at the mall. The space itself is very large. A big indoor seating area and decent size outdoor patio. You can order at the counter or from the app at your table through a QR code. Food: Food was fresh and had a farm to table feel. I ordered the grilled steak salad, which was very light. The steak was carved very thin, but was flavorful. The rest of the salad was a bit dull and could've use more toppings. My husband got the turkey avocado club sandwich and said it was excellent and the bread was super soft. We ordered a kids meal for our son with grilled chicken, macaroni and cheese, piece of bread and drink for about $10 which I thought was pretty reasonable. They have plenty of options to build your own plate or order a pre-designed salad or sandwich. Service: we ordered at the counter and food came out reasonably quick to our table. GETTING HERE: Located at the Thousand Oaks Mall near the movie theater side. There are a few other restaurants/food options near Urban Plates. REVIEW: Welp, it was fine, enough. Being a first-timer, I wasn't sure what to expect, and I should have lowered my expectations (sorry). There's lots of open seating outside, which is nice in T.O. IMO. When you arrive, there is a large menu outside that you can look at if you choose to. Then, inside, you order at the counter. I chose a Kids' chicken tender option. Ordering was a huge challenge. The employee spoke so softly that I had to ask them to repeat themselves numerous times. It was awkward. I had a question about their drink options (again, first-timer, and I even fell on my sword and told them it was my first time), and it was so awkward, unfriendly, and uninviting. I felt as if I was a bother to them. THEN, because California, they charge an extra 3% on your total order. I should have left at that moment, but I was invested and wanted to see it through. Boo. The chicken was OK. The fries were cold. The bread was cold too. With the numerous other options at the TO Mall, I'd recommend a different place to eat. read more

Urban Plates never disappoints, but this visit was especially good. I ordered the Cobb salad and it was SO fresh -- crisp greens, perfectly portioned toppings, and everything tasted super high quality. You can tell they don't just throw it together; the balance of flavors and textures was on point. I also got one of their cranberry drinks and wow -- so refreshing and not overly sweet. I requested the lemon sour cream on the side since I'm picky about white sauces, but honestly, the bowl had plenty of flavor on its own with all the fresh and bold ingredients. I've been here multiple visits and the food quality is good and consistent. It's freshly made and the serving size is good for the price. The beverage selections are also good and you can get refills. The restaurant is large and offers indoor and outdoor options. The service can be hit and miss. Sometimes the counter service is quick and sometimes it's slow. During our last visit, 2 of our 4 meals arrived about 10 minutes afterwards. So there could be better timing on service. Parking is also difficult at this location because the nearest parking is frequently full. read more

I always walk into this place thinking I've selected the healthy restaurant option in the area, and walk out satisfied with my choice :) Since the mall has an abundance of food options, I barely make it to urbane plates - but it will be my new go-to! Urban Plates is one of our favorite chain restaurants. Unfortunately, we do not have one in my hometown. After hiking in the Malibu area, we were famished. Saw that there was an Urban Plates location along our route so that is how we ended up here. Their menu options and the ingredients they use for their food is healthier than most places. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. Wifey and I always get one of their sandwiches or plate meals whenever we visit an Urban Plates restaurant. Of course, a meal is not complete without dessert so we get one of those here as well. Favorite sandwiches of mine are their Caprese sandwich and their Grilled Cage Free Chicken sandwich. My favorite plate meals is their Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak, and my favorite side is their Roasted Brussels Sprouts. For dessert, their Hummingbird Cake and their Mango Tart are FANTASTIC!! The Hummingbird Cake that they make is one of the BEST cakes that I have ever tasted!! Hard to believe that a dessert that good can be found in such a healthy restaurant. Are desserts healthy? Anytime we are in the Thousand Oaks area, I hope to stop by this location (if only to have a slice of Hummingbird Cake). read more

It came with garlic bread too! Thanks to Instacart and UberEats I was able to satisfy my cravings. I am a mashed potato and gravy lover and Urban Playe whips them to perfection. I'm seriously considering getting the plate pass which gives you discounts on food and free delivery, etc... Service was fast even though they were busy. Food came out perfectly cooked as well. First and foremost, the grilled chicken caesar salad is amazing, the chicken was perfectly cooked and sliced. The leaves of the romaine were fresh and crunchy. God blessed this delicious plate.
