10/10 experience. Came to Philly on a girls trip and came here every night we were in town. The service is amazing, Matthew, Paul and James were a lot of fun and make awesome shots/drinks. The bar gives a sports bar/dive/irish pub feel. Great atmosphere. Right in the Center City area so super convenient location if you're staying around there, or in that area for the evening. The food we tried was delicious (truffle fries and onion rings) We have the Philly Spring Roles on our "to get" list. The peach mango cider was SO good and the spearhead (? I think, was quite a few drinks in at this point) IPA was also very good. Overall we had such a great time, with great service, conversation and drinks/food. Cheap drinks and killer food. Finn Mccools is so slept on. The space is large with two floors and picnic tables outside. Their food menu is large and DELISH. Everything I've ever had is perfect, particularly the cheesesteak egg rolls and the soft pretzel with beer cheese, you have to get the beer cheese. The staff is friendly and fast. Stopped in here to watch last Sunday's NFL Playoff games. Got the last high-top for two that was available in the downstairs bar area. My Guiness was on point. My French Onion Soup rocked. Was in Philly for the flower show and staying in a nearby hotel. Finn Mcools was within easy walking distance of the hotel. I ordered the Reuben and my husband ordered the chicken Parmesan. I had the option of substituting a salad for fries which I did. My choice made me very happy. The salad was really nice. A good size salad with a nice lemon vinaigrette dressing. The sandwich was not greasy as Reuben's tend to be, and it was a reasonable size. Perfect size for dinner and I really enjoyed it. My husband thought the chicken Parmesan was just OK but he thought the fries were very good. To drink I had the new trails hazy IPA and my husband had the one with the daisies on the glass Daisy cutters I think? He did enjoy that and I loved mine. The sandwich and fries were good! A little salty and pretty big but the other half made a nice lunch the next day. I tried the blackberry cider and it was pretty refreshing! While wandering to find a spot yesterday afternoon for some yummy eats prior to going to the Phillies game we came upon this place just prior to Happy Hour. Enjoying a good deal as much as the next couple, we checked out a couple of other places in the same block and settled on this one due to its menu. Made the right choice for sure, after ordering and splitting, the turkey club, a glass of wine, and a 16oz glass of Jack's Abby Saxony Lager. The service was very prompt, with no issue us asking to share, (we have had issues with some places wanting to charge more to share, what is that about) the beverages very tasty and the ice water with lemon very cold with lots of ice and nice fresh lemon. The turkey club was well executed, although we wonder all the time why they pile all the protein up in the middle of the bread to make it look like you are getting an enormous amount of meat. Just spread it out evenly over the piece of bread so it doesn't get pushed out and makes it easier to eat. The fries were perfectly cooked and piping hot. The food comes up from the kitchen in a dumbwaiter which is novel for us and a cool feature. We enjoyed the meal and beverages so much we went back today and had lunch again. This time no Happy Hour, we had the beef dip and the same beverages. The lunch came up on separate plates for us which was a nice touch. The food today wasn't up to the caliber of yesterday with the fries a little well done, but the lovely K loves them that way. She ate the fries on my plate, and me, her fries. There could have been more beef on the bread and we found the dip bowls a little small in diameter, and not nearly enough. Yesterday's bill with a tip of over 20% was $25 and today $30, so good value in our mind for excellent fare. Blown away by this place! Game 2 of the World Series and it's Halloween weekend. Old city was PACKED with Halloween parties and game night outings. Everywhere had a line around the corner. Fin McCool's had 2 entrances and we were able to get right in at the second door. The first floor was jammed so we made it upstairs which was equally as jammed but there was some space by the window with a ledge to place our food order. We had the sampler and cheesesteak spring rolls. The spring rolls were unbelievable. The spicy cheese sauce they're laid over is to die for! The sampler was tasty too. Great place. We were in town for the marathon. Needed to find a fun place with a great atmosphere! We found it! We were greated graciously by a huge bouncer. He was about 7ft and extremely professional and nice. The bar tender was very friendly. There were about 3 bartenders on duty. But seemed they had thete own part to man. The place was pretty busy. Food menu was great and cocktail menu was great. I had the Philly cheese steak spring rolls. The rolls were filled generously. Nice tender steak and tasty cheese. They had a special sauce drizzleed over the top. Would definitely eat again. But we were there for the bar. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Younger crowd was upstairs and the older was on first floor, at least it appeared that way. The drinks were ice cold and I didn't have to ask for a new one, everytime the bartender seen my beer at the end he had another right next to it. We tried a variety of concoctions. My husband and I have been wanting to try Finn McCool's for awhile now! So we decided to go on Saturday around 7pm. They don't take reservations, so it's first come first serve. They have several tables available for outdoor dining. When we arrived they had 2 available, so they were pretty busy! Our waitress came over with waters quickly after we sat down and gave us menus. She made sure to let us know that we were required to order food with alcohol due to the recent law change by our Governor. My husband and I both ordered miller high life. They are an everyday special for $3. We really appreciated the $3 dollar beer special because with COVID it's hard to find any place that isn't charging $6 for a beer! We also both ordered wings and split a side of fries. While we were waiting for our food, I checked in on Yelp and got a message for a free shot of apple flavored alcohol. I wasn't totally sure they would honor it since restaurants are taking such a huge hit right now, but I asked the waitress and she did honor it. She actually gave both my husband and I one even though I was the only one who checked in. We both though that was so nice! We honestly would not have been upset if they hadn't honored it since we understand restaurants are in a tough spot right now. Our food came out quickly! Our wings were delicious! An order of wings is 1lb, which was about 8 wings. The sauce was really good! It was a very classic buffalo sauce with a medium kick! The fries were also good. They are homemade. And come with thousand island sauce. We didn't use the sauce, they were good on their own. Overall, we had excellent service and food! We highly recommend this place! They have great deals on beer, and a nice selection of food options that are also high quality! Verdict: This place is McCool by me, he said. Not a bad fallback plan if the other local pubs are packed. The Reuben was a decent sandwich. It wasn't overly salty as many reubens are. The fries, chicken tenders, wings, and mozzarella sticks were all pretty standard. You start to recognize when certain foods are part of the standard distribution and for many restaurants. It's often the fried foods, like these. Not a bad selection of beers. I got Evil Genius' I'll have What She's Having. As much as i like their beers, this one was a bit too much on the sweet side. Such a treat last weekend. First time dining outdoors in the chillier months and the outdoor seating was phenomenal: huge picnic tables , heat lamps above the tables, and tv's. Food and service phenomenal! Get the spring rolls-super light flaky roll and that cheese delish. The real winner was the onion soup. So well seasoned and piping hot. For the main, split a pesto chicken sandwich and extra fries. A side of fries is enormous so perfect for snacking. The chicken sandwich was very tender and juicy, with a super soft bun.
