Great boutique winery , the best people you can find in the wine making industry but as a wine lover, I love their wines My favorite is the Petit Syrah and the Zin all 3 of them This is a very small production winery so go there before they run out They are open on Sundays only

Where to start?!? This place is amazing. I only wish I lived closer…read more The Wine: I had an incredible small-batch Primitivo that was aged in oak bourbon barrels. It was smoky and subtle at first, with a rich tannin finish and a warm, soft whisper of bourbon. Barely noticeable, but definitely there. I loved this wine and ended up buying several bottles to enjoy later. The Food: I'm not sure why I wasn't expecting this, because as the name implies, they really know their beef. This is a winery that partners with a butcher for the finest selections of mountain-grown beef and they clearly have a man (or woman) on the inside because their cuts were fantastic. My wife raved about the tri-tip salad, and I can honestly say I've never had a better smash burger... Ever. It was called the Black & Blue and featured two fresh smash patties smothered with grilled onions, cheddar, and blue cheese. The cheese intentionally overflowed the burgers and melted onto the grill, creating a ring of crispy, chewy cheddar and blue cheese around the entire edge of the burger. Absolutely fantastic. The Staff: The staff were outstanding. I had a great conversation with the owners, Mike and Beth, about their community and what they're building. Their passion and joy were obvious. Mia and Rhonda were attentive, friendly, respectful, and professional. Tie all of that together with a beautiful view of the Cummings Valley and I don't know what more I could have hoped for. This place exceeded my expectations in every way.

Such great service, scenery was lovely ( a country feel) and the WINE! I ordered a bottle of wine, and my boyfriend got the wine tasting. My friends went for getting glasses of wine which everyone loved their choices. Very tasty selection of food. We got the charcuterie plate which was beautiful and a good size. My favorite was the loaded tater tots with their yummy chili. Next time the smash burger. Another customer ordered it and it looked amazing. The owners were very kind, warm and friendly. Came out to check on us several times. Doggy friendly. Live music. Just an overall wonderful laid back time. Relaxing. Perfect. Hope to come back soon. Nice get away close to home.

I was a wine club member for a year, I've paid and attended a couple of special events, checked out their outdoor vending market, and love coming by just to relax for a glass of wine. The wine itself is excellent, and the ladies behind the counter are always incredibly kind and informative. The grounds are mostly nice, and I do love visiting the animals in the back. Here are a few areas that fall short for me: Like I said, I've attended a couple of paid events here. And while the dessert vendor is absolutely delicious, the boxed sandwiches provided are disappointing and practically inedible. It's surprising they continue to use the same sandwich caterer for events. The outdoor middle area is so unattractive. Can't they do anything nicer than wood chips and bark? As a vendor myself, I wouldn't ever want to join their market events. Instead of placing booths and tables along the pretty and easy to walk perimeter, the vendors set up in this field of wood chips, which makes it an awkward setup for both the vendors and shoppers. Steve, the general manager, is incredibly nice and charismatic during events. However, on regular random visiting days, I've found him to be unfriendly and even somewhat rude. It's really odd and a disappointing contrast to his event persona. So overall, it's (mostly) a pretty spot with great wine and excellent front counter staff. Wish I could give it five stars. Maybe one day I will.

The tasting is $15 for 4 wines made by them. The owner Ilda Vaja is so passionate about it she calls it a very expensive hobby. And I can't imagine what it takes to plant, care for, produce and bottle the wine every year. She was the sole managing person here this particular Friday and man was it such a fun conversation we had. We learned a lot about Tehachapi and how she started it and it is just heart warming to hear the story. She's also the first one to plant and produce a very good Malbec. The tasting consisted of a rosé, Cabernet, Merlot and Malbec. She served this with cheese, crackers and local chocolates! The ranch also has AirBNB rooms so be sure to check out her website for availability. Women owned, local and full of love. You can taste that in the product. During this weekend trip, I also visited 2 other wineries but I can tell you hands down, this was an absolutely memorable stop. I highly recommend stopping by here if you're passing by. I promise you the wine is great, the views and the person behind this winery are phenomenal. We ended up taking home 5 wines. During the week make an appointment. But weekends you can just stop by.

Also poor internet service up here, so I'm not a fan. I arrived without a reservation and it was fine. They offer the outdoor patio and even noticed a private event taking place. They also have indoor seating with tables and sofas. I spent the majority of my afternoon inside as I was avoiding the heat. Just depends what type of wine you select; but Pricey here for a flight of red wine four types; $59 but my fault for going with all reds! They are top tier. Flight wine Saddlerock: Syrah, Cab, KOM, and Res Cab. Syrah was the on the dry side (as it is known to be) and not as sweet. Still really good. The KOB was a combination and it was delicious. That was my fav out of the batch. I also bought water for $5 but it's a big bottle of sparkling water; Not tap. My total here was $64 paid with my card and closed my tab. For the following rounds, I paid cash: I had two rounds of IPA beer: both were really good in my opinion. "Pliny the elder" by Russian river IPA and "food fight" by common space. Glass was $10-11each 16oz Lastly, I ordered a charcuterie cheese and crackers which was $28 the board itself was very cute and decorated nicely. Overall, this place can be pricey but I was there to hang out, explore their menu and drink so it worked out for me in the end.

They have a lovely place with wagyu cows, chickens, goats, etc as well as a BEAUTIFUL view of Ojai. Tour starts with looking at grapes growing on the vines, followed by walk into bottling / storage area, followed by tasting wines in their stunning backyard area. Others on the tour brought small charcuterie board ingredients and shared with everyone - would recommend bringing some light snacks for the tasting portion. Tour included about 10-12 people total and was completely free (!!) in hopes of attendees buying wine bottles at the end (which was fairly priced and very good - our group of 3 got 4 bottles for $120 total.) The owners are celebrating the lost art of breaking bread and sharing time and stories with strangers over wine - felt like something that you'd find in Italy. I didn't really know what to expect since there weren't a ton of reviews for this, but my group (2 adult sisters + our mom) really loved the concept of this entire experience. It's not a typical wine tasting where they give you 5 wines and leave you be at a table, so wouldn't go here if that's what you're looking for. But if you're looking for a unique, less touristy experience, this is an amazing place to learn more about the history of wine in the region directly from wine-makers, stroll around a beautiful vineyard, and connect with others in Ojai enjoying the same things. Cannot say enough positive things about Bob + his wife. Highly recommend this!!
