I recently tried cbowls after spotting it while in the area! It's relatively small inside but definitely well kept! I ordered to go. I tried the sushi, egg rolls, and potstickers. The sushi was good! It was good enough for something close by that I could pop in and get. I loved the egg rolls but the potstickers weren't my personal fav. The service was nice when I went in. The bowl was enough food on its own but the roll was a nice addition. Service was friendly, the guy greeted me when I walked in, offered to get me ice for my drink and was very hospitable. The restaurant is cute. Plenty of seating, some fun board games on the window table for kids and love all the little photos on the wall with people who have visited. It's a little gem of a place. We tried this place out because it had high reviews (drove quite a bit out of our way to go here, in fact). The Poke bowl combo was mediocre at best and they forgot to add the crab meat. It was served in a Styrofoam container (eating in at the restaurant) and - at $35 for 2 people - is pricey for the quality. The rice is not sushi rice but seems like an Uncle Ben type of rice they attempted to make into sushi rice. The chopped lettuce is something you'd expect for a cheap salad (no spring mix with arugula or anything special - just chopped iceberg). When we walked in to the restaurant, the guy behind the counter was preoccupied with something and no one was in the store... at 6pm on Saturday... that should've been a clue. They do have free Miso for dining in, but overall I would definitely not return when there are many much better options in DFW. read more

Several things about this place left me in a constant state of irritation. Admittedly, my poke bowl wasn't one of them. For the most part, it was decent. Fish and toppings were fresh. What was supposed to be crunchy, was crunchy. Flavors were good. I do prefer when my fish can be tossed with sauce, rather than pouring sauce over the top, like you have to do here. Its a small thing, but helps spread the flavor throughout the bowl rather than be thick on top. What really irritated me was the complete sense of not feeling like they were particularly interested in me being there at all. When I walked in, I felt like it was high noon at a gun fight. The employee behind the counter and I just stared at each other, waiting for the other one to draw. After waiting what seemed like a good 20 seconds, he finally explained that I needed to fill out the order sheet that was laying on the counter. Really? I can't just tell you what I want? Nope. I wish there was some written direction. Maybe I was distracted by the signs taped up that read "NO!!! Sushi rolls or ramen. Kitchen closed!". So, I fill it out. Eat. No one ever says a word to me again though I am literally the only person in the place. Nothing when they bring me my bowl, nothing as I leave. The employees stand behind the counter on their phones, even when someone else walks in. I watch her fill out her order form with zero acknowledgement from the staff. I don't care if the poke tastes like it was prepared by angels, I wouldn't bother returning. Oh, and the K pop on the sound system annoyed the crap outta me. Ugh. read more

I've been to different poke places around DFW area, and this place offers something what good poke place should have: fresh ingredients with many healthy options to choose from. Poke is really a good food option for someone who are conscious of the healthy yet digging for something delicious other than the salad. I decided to checkout the place as I've been on a diet after getting tired of eating salads for the past entire week. Although the place is small, the restaurant is conveniently located in an area that is close to other restaurants as well as the apartment. As you enter through the door, you will see a food selection at the left and the seating area on the right. You can pick a signature bowl, a customized bowl, or a ramen. And you simply pick up the pencil and select what you want and give to the cashier. I decided to get a customized bowl with tuna & salmon with extra avocado, and it was good enough for my liking. One thing I like about this place is that I get a plenty of main ingredients like salmon, tuna, and crab meats. This place definitely does not seem to conserve the most costly ingredients for the customers, and that is what the customers like me can appreciate. Maybe, I am biased toward the poke foods in general, because I love poke. But I will still take give this place a perfect score, regardless. read more

I could eat poke everyday, I honestly could. It's fast to make, great option if you want to stay full but feel light. The place is clean, easy & straight-forward to understand. I like how they give you a sheet of paper to check the items you want in your poke bowl without actually having to communicate behind the glass. So what's the problem with Cbowls? Personally, I'm not sure if it's just me but this poke joint is the only one that leaves a particular sour taste in my mouth that I can't get rid of unless I obliterate it with something sweet. I've eaten a lot of poke and I thought it was pretty great here! Fish and veggies are very fresh, and overall dish size generous. I like the ordering system for building your own bowl - you check items off a paper list (which gives lots of time and room for indecisive customers like me!). The only thing I didn't like was that my bowl ended up a bit soggy. I checked off the sesame soy sauce, which although tasty was very watery. This is my first "poke" place to try out in Dallas. I use quotes cause this is not real poke. If you ever go to Hawaii you will quickly see what poke is. Even Foodland beats this mainland version. Aside from variations and different versions, they do an OK job. You walk in, check off everything you want from a list and they assemble it for you. I ordered mine with spicy garlic aioli but they seemed to forget it so I added some sauce that resembled it after I received my order. The ahi was fresh. However, I added cucumber as well and it had a bitter/spoiled taste. I had two pieces of it and had to pick out the rest. The rest of the bowl gets an E for effort. If this is a reflection of how the mainland wants to do poke, you might as well call this place "Poke Chipotle Style" or Haole Poke or Sashimi Bowl. Still looking forward one day when a real Hawaiian place serves poke in Dallas. read more

This is probably one of my favorite Poke place now. I believe it is owned by a Korean owner . (He is really nice and was active in checking up on his customers and how they were doing). This place serves signature bowls, MYOB (make your own), and sushi rolls. You start off by filling out on a piece of paper how you want your bowl to be made and they make it for you instead of you being in line and pointing to the items. There was a significant amount of people there when I first walked in and I still got by bowl pretty fast. I also like that they have their own sauce station that includes (wasabi sauce, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and spicy aioli) ... therefore, you can have as much sauce as you want. Another unique thing that they have as an option to add to your bowl is the Japanese pickled . I think that added more flavor to my poke bowl. The salmon was really fresh but it would have been nice if they would add a little more protein because I ran out of salmon a little half way through my bowl. read more

Food was ok. Not anything special as a poke place. But considering you have to pay $14 for a regular bowl, I found them stingy with everything. I got one small scoop of protein for the regular bowl, very little veggie toppings and I had to pay extra for soy sauce and wasabi. I believe in paying a fair price but when you stack the bowl with lots of rice and hardly any toppings, it feels like they're just trying to get over on you. Do better please. read more

I had high expectations due to 4.5 star rating, but cbowls did not meet my expectation. I ordered dragon eel, and the amount of eel in my bowl was very little compared to other toppings. My husband ordered build your own bowl, and it was a-okay. I wish they would be a little more generous on their protein portions. One thing that was odd - we asked if they had miso soup. The lady at the front checked with the back and said yes, they did have miso soup. So we ordered it. It actually did not come out until we were done with our food, and it was served as if it was "tea". I really didn't understand why it took them such a long time to make us miso "tea" because they basically poured water onto those pre-made miso soup base. It's not like they forgot, because we asked couple times about it, and the answer was they were working on it. We ended up throwing away the miso "tea" because it was soooo bland. There are so many other poke places that does better poke than cbowls. Not sure if we will come back. read more

This location used to be a Lenny's Sub Shop. This place offers poke bowls, sushi, and ramen. You can dine in or take out. The menu offers their signature dish or a make your own bowl. I got their Ahi Tuna bowl and thought it was good! The rice was a perfect texture of sweet, sticky rice, the veggies were crisp, and their tuna was well prepared. The furikake provided a saltiness, which I originally thought was too salty, but after mixing the bowl, it enhanced the sweetness to the veggies and tuna.
