B40 Island Bowl sans ginger/crunch onion

For me, there's a great and profound love for this wonderful place. I've been coming to this place for years and every single time, the poke bowls here are light, fresh, and incredible flavor. But no need for a fancy review. Come here for the best fresh sushi/poke salad with generous portions. You won't be disappointed.

This was my second time going here and the food was great both times. Got the B40 poke Bowl and it is a great price for a delicious meal. The service was quick and everyone working there was so kind! When I left an item at the register they ran after me to return it.

This was the best spicy Tuna poke bowl I've ever had in my life. And the lady was so nice and made me some delicious miso soup as an appetizer. I ate my food so fast before I took a pic but here's the empty bowls

I've been coming here for many years now. Not many other places nearby, so I am glad this one is in Carrollton! Service is always very friendly and they make your bowl FAST. They have always been very consistent and their choices for toppings are fairly abundant and they let you add them all! I love that they allow you to pick a combination of rice/salad as well. Fish always tastes fresh and of good quality. I just wish they added a touch more fish, but otherwise, love this place.

Ordered from here on Uber eats so I can't comment on the restaurant it self but for a poke bowl this size I felt it was significantly overpriced. I felt it over dressed with sauce when there was no rice in the dish. I also felt I was ripped off with the protein portion as I felt I barely got anything. I wouldn't try this again.

Pretty good poke bowl. Nicely decorated small place. There is a lot of seating inside. I created my own large bowl with salmon and tuna as the protein and the spicy sauce as recommended by lady who was taking my order. I also got all the sides. I was greeted by what I am think is a wife a husband that is running the shop and were friendly. Over all the food is good. What was great is that the order included miso soup as well for free. Only thing I wish was that I got more protein with how much rice was in the bowl. Felt like there was just so much rice that did not fit with the portions of everything else.

    B40 bowl (~$16)

I've never had poke before so I can't really compare it to other places but I did really enjoy my meal here at Below 40 Poke House. I ordered the bowl they recommended, I believe the b40 (~$16), and a strawberry Lemonade ($5) and a bowl of miso soup (complimentary). The lemonade was refreshing, the soup a decent starter, but the bowl itself was the real star of the show. You end up getting a large amount of food with a good amount of greens and rice with enough fish for the price you pay. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and brought out to me incredibly quickly. I was pretty stuffed after finishing it all afterwards even hours afterwards. With tax and tip things care out higher than I'd generally want to do for lunch, but if you skip the drink it's not that much more expensive than a lunch elsewhere in the neighborhood for a good quality meal.

My husband and I stopped in for some poke to go on a Friday night. We both ordered build your own bowls, and they were great! The ingredients were fresh, and we enjoyed the complimentary miso soup. The service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. We will definitely eat here again.

Located in a really busy lot... Lots of Korean restaurants around

Eh... Drove across town to find this place because I was craving a poke bowl. Menu is verrrrry general while being specific at the same time, meaning the number of choices is very firm but if you don't speak the language, it's very difficult to figure out what you're getting. I felt rushed, so I just agreed to what was offered *shrug* but knew I wanted spicy tuna.... well, turns out, their Tuna is mushy like the inside of a grocery store sushi roll vs the fresh cut cubes I was used to. Main reason I wasn't a fan as I wasn't prepared for the texture. Also, they're a bit on the expensive side i.e. there's an upcharge for pretty much anything outside if the menu, hence the firm I mentioned. The portion of the bowl was really tiny for it to cost $20 bucks. Their saving grace is that it appears that they really are genuinely nice. The woman and man behind the counter seemed like they were actually enjoying their efforts. Another star is the "free" miso soup. Nothing spectacular about it, but it was yhe effort all the same. I hate to not give more stars just based on the kindness factor, but I just can't because the food was relatively expensive for the less than spectacular food I received. Sigh. Sorry :( *also note, the location is in a busy lot that is shared with other Asian-cuisine restaurants. Lots of traffic and the parking lot has lots and lots of pot holes so be careful or your alignment will suffer.

There was almost no protein like 4 pieces of salmon and 5 pieces of tofu. But the flavor was bomb. And miso soup was delicious.

Everybody complains that dining out is so expensive today (myself included). While I can't say that…read moreCoco Shrimp is bucking that trend, what I can say is that, at least if you're going to spend the money, you'll likely get a great, satisfying meal in a fun atmosphere. That's a win in my book. My wife has dined at other Coco Shrimp locations, but it was our first time at this location. The place is nicely decorated, looking like a kitchy joint you'd find in the Caribbean, and the staff was very pleasant. It's quick casual, order at the counter from the easy to read and not too fussy menu, and the staff will bring your food to your table. I chose the sampler plate, which nets seven very generously sized shrimp atop a bed of buttery rice and a small salad. The greens were fresh, the rice was toasty and buttery as promised, and those shrimp: Yum! I selected spicy (definitely on the warm side), butter garlic (wonderful butter garlic sauce with herbs) and the namesake Coco shrimp (crispy fried with coconut flakes and sweet chili sauce), and all were fantastic. It was a lot of food, so we even took leftovers home to have for dinner. This place was definitely worth the price, and we'd happily go again.

Return or not return?…read more Probably return, but not a passionate I have to eat that again. Chain restaurant in Texas. Pros: - high flavor food - easy ordering - strong value for the $ - easy ordering - fast - gut bomb special as huge portions esp rice Cons: - too too salty - not a place you have lunch at and go back to work. Everyone will know what you ate. Garlic tastes good, but you will smell like it. - Tacos need corn tortilla option. Flour becomes gooey and soggy. Biggest issue is just too too salty.
