If you're wanting to indulge in fried and/or sauce laden rolls packed with puréed-mashed fish, this is your place. You get what you pay for. AYCE 22.95 lunch = AVERAGE. I wanted this place to be awesome, but it's definitely not date worthy or a good representation of fresh, high-quality sushi. The rolls are heavily sauced and over filled will ground fish. At the minimum, I like my fish identifiable and cool (not warm). The rice-free rolls are stuffed with ground fish and imitation crab. They're overwhelming suspicious and make you wonder what exactly you're eating. Would be nice if the menu had more thorough descriptions of the preparation/presentation. Even the seaweed salad was a bit more sweet and viscous than I'm accustomed and the hubby didn't ask for more jalapeño bombs, which is unheard of. All in all, if it weren't for the additional charges for unfinished food, we would have left it. Food/Taste: 2.5/5 heavily sauced, served warm at times, oddly prepared Quality/Freshness: 2.5/5 very questionable Skillfulness/Presentation 3/5 Value for money: 3/5 Service: 5/5 kind & prompt service, food comes out quickly Setting/Ambience: 3.5/5 clean, updated, nice signage & tile wall, wood beams

At Harutaka Sushi, you can either do all you can eat for $34.95 (dinner) or do à la carte. I can barely polish off a partial roll, so à la carte made the most sense for me. I appreciated having that flexibility because I spent only $17 for a roll and some nigiri, and I still had leftovers. Doing AYCE would've been excessive, but I think for many people this is an excellent option. The sushi here was good, but the smell of dry drain ruined the dine-in experience. It wafted through the air and was ever present. If there had been no smell, I would've graded this place more in 4-star territory. The fish used in the nigiri was great quality and the crab tempura roll I had a was good, but a little too much on the rich side. The food is solid, and I loved that I had a large carafe of water to serve myself to keep hydrated because that roll was definitely on the salty side with the sauce drizzle. Overall decent with good service, but the dry-drain issue needs to be addressed.

First visit here after a sushi craving, and it turned out to be a great find. The space is clean, and although there was only one server, service was impressively attentive and well-managed. The sushi was fresh and satisfying, and the fresh wasabi made a clear difference in flavor. Overall, a solid experience worth repeating. Lunch is $22.95 (until 3 PM) and dinner is $34.95.

Usually I'm not an AYCE person since I always have bad experience with raw fish all you can eat . But this one was an exceptional . The quality was overwhelming and delicious . Lots of varieties of fishes and selections of rolls on their menu . Everything presentable and appealing . I woods recommend this place since they also have a goo happy hour price and lunch price .

This AYCE Japanese Restaurant opened this past April in Dallas. We did try their AYCE lunch on a weekday. Not busy, a couple of customers were having lunch. They have freshly ingredients and tasty food. They serve sushi rolls w/out rice. You'll be surprised the goodness of items they're serving from their lunch menu. Servers are attentive and friendly. Nicely decorated restaurant with lots of parking. A hidden gem in the Dallas area and surrounding areas. It's nestled in the Kroger Supermarket, Preston Road, Dallas TX.

I love me some YCE sushi so, I had to try Harutaka Sushi out. We went on a Sunday. Service was great and the music is nice. Dinner was $30+ tax. They don't have sashimi on their menu, but their proteins and seafood were really good. The winner for me was the No Rice sushi rolls. Those were really good. All of the appetizers were really great and fresh. It has a lot of flavor. They have ice cream on the side that's complimentary with the AYCE portion. Pretty nice spot. They had a kids show on and Pickleball on the TVs. I think it would've been even better with one of the NFL games on. Overall, pretty good spot, and I recommend the no rice rolls. Don't over order!

Best all-you-can-eat sushi in DFW, hands down. The quality was unreal for the price. Lunch was only $22, and it honestly blows away spots charging $45+. Fresh sushi, amazing service, and the first round even includes sashimi. One of the best AYCE sushi experiences in Dallas-Fort Worth without question. Highly recommended.

Fish quality was not the best. We did enjoy the shishito peppers, shrimp tempura and steak teriyaki.

Overall, for AYCE, this is a decent experience. I had high hopes after the initial set of reviews after its opening. The sushi itself was debatable on if it was fresh or not. Not all we ate tasted fresh but then again, for the price point, it is pretty good. Also given the fish to rice ratio, definitely worth the price as it was not overwhelming on the rice as many places do. We also had gone thinking they had alcoholic beverages only to find that they did not (but hopefully that license has come in by now). We also noticed that everyone around us received ice cream to end their meal, while we did not receive any nor was it offered to us.

After seeing the positive reviews left for this restaurant, I decided to pay them a visit, and I am glad I did! I was in the area and was craving good sushi, and chose this establishment for lunch. Upon entering this restaurant, I was warmly greeted, and taken to a comfortable booth. Upbeat music was playing, and at a volume where you can actualy have a conversation with others. The wait staff brought me a carafe of ice water and outlined my dining choices, and I chose the all you can eat option for $22.95. I chose a few appetizers and a few rolls, and everything was fresh and spectacular! My favorite roll was the Cowboy roll, with steak on top and shrimp inside. The service was prompt and efficient, and the meal was delicious. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you're in the area and you're craving sushi.

I've been seeing Harutaka pop up on social media a lot lately so I figured I'd see what the hype is about! Offering both AYCE and a "normal" menu Harutaka boasts many items to fulfill all your different cravings. You have 3 rounds to order AYCE, and you're allotted a certain amount of sushi rolls and nigiri each round but I was practically nearly full after a round in a half and I eat a lot. The atmosphere is laid back, with a helpful and friendly staff. They were quick to take our orders for the next round and check on us. The food was quick to come out and it all tasted great. I liked the nigiri the best, especially the Wagyu which had a sweet sauce on top, the sweet shrimp and the mackerel. The sushi rolls were all fresh and bright tasting. You can also customize them a bit if you'd like. My favorite sushi roll was the zen, the garlic crisps on top just add a perfect crunchiness to it and pairs perfectly with the sauce and cilantro. If you're hungry and looking for an AYCE sushi place that tastes great I would suggest giving them a try!

Enjoyed their $23 lunch AYCE. The food comes out reasonably quickly, but they also only had about five tables going at the time. Both of the servers were very nice and explained to how the whole process worked. Everything that I had was decent, a good mix of quantity and quality. I was a bit put off that the music was incredibly loud and had quite a bit of profanity, I could've done without so many F words while I'm enjoying lunch and I would've been upset if I had had a child along with me. Even without the profanity, the music was at such a volume that other people were really having to raise their voices to speak, and it kind of kills the ambiance.

Our table was seated directly beneath an air vent that was actively dripping water. During dinner, the water repeatedly dripped onto me. After notifying the staff the first time, they simply wiped down the vent while food was being served rather than offering to reseat our party. When I brought the issue to their attention a second time, the response was the same; they wiped it down, but the dripping continued throughout the remainder of the meal. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected a more proactive solution and better attention to guest comfort. Additionally, our group ordered the Demon Slayer 300 mL sake, priced at $55. After pouring the sake, our server, Adonis, took the bottle away with him, even though we understood that the bottle was intended to remain at the table for our party. This added to the confusion and frustration surrounding the overall experience. As a first-time guest, I was looking forward to an enjoyable dining experience, but the lack of attention to these issues left me disappointed. While the food may have been enjoyable, the service and handling of these concerns fell short of expectations, particularly given the cost of dining here.

Sushi Bar Dallas…read more Omakase at Sushi Bar Dallas is an incredible experience from the moment you step inside. The room is intentionally intimate and very dark, with an industrial ceiling where pipes climb 20+ feet above, signaling you're in for something far from a traditional sushi bar. My only gripe came at the front of the house: the initial greeting and the rule explanation were a little too demanding and elementary for someone who is tired and paying a significant amount of money for a sushi dinner. Put the rules in an email, text and on the website i'm not in 4th grade. The hostess was pleasant, but she seemed a bit robotic in doling out the rules of the evening. The line-up system, where you wait your turn and have your name called, feels odd and reminds me of the times I visited my friend in prison and the guards lined us up against the wall by our names before they took us to the room with inmates. Uncomfortable but I do follow most rules and there was a reason for the lineup that becomes clear as you settle in. Next she takes you down a dimly lit, narrow wooden staircase and you land in a basement sanctuary of omakase heaven. Our hostess knocked and the door opened to a room that felt specially curated for this meal. Each guest found their name written in gold on a sign on the sushi bar where you are suppose to sit. The chair was a very comfortable leather chair. Each gold written name plate, marking the guest order she placed us in upstairs. My seat was at the center of the sushi bar, perfectly positioned to capture video and photos of both chefs in action. From the start, we were told we'd be eating with our hands, a nod to traditional Japanese dining. The chefs staged 17 courses with the precision of neurosurgeons, walking us through every nuance from the provenance of the seafood to the section of the fish we were eating to the age of the barrel aged soy sauce. Not a detail was missed, and timing felt both deliberate and urgent in all the right moments. The father, Jose, was laid-back and effortlessly in control, while Leo, Jose's son, emerged as a true partner in the kitchen, their dynamic reminiscent of watching a masterful, living artwork take shape. The two moved back and forth with a rhythm that felt like a collaboration at the highest level, each dish placed neatly on a flat stone in front of each of us. They would then announce with pride what we were about to inhale and wait in anticipation of our response. It was clear they take tremendous pride in their craft, presenting edible masterpieces that felt almost ceremonial. Too keep everyone happy with the time in between dishes there was an endless supply of a pickled salad that I could not stop eating. As for a favorite course, it's hard to pick one. Each bite built on the last, and the whole sequence felt cohesive, an immersive set from tartare hand roll, to Shima Aji, Madai, Uni my favorite, Hotate, Masu, Hirami, Hamachi, Bincho, Kinmedai, and something I have never heard of Zuwaigani, followed by the best Waygu I have ever had in my life and ending with a passion fruit sorbet with activated charcoal crumbles and toasted crispy coconut, I don't like coconut and I ate every bite. The pairing of technique, seasonal seafood, and f#%king great seasonings left a lasting impression or as my wife says, "my husband has food memories." If you're considering a visit, go with an open mind, a willingness to lean into the pace, and a camera ready (flash off it's one of the rules) for the moments when the chefs' artistry shines. The father-and-son team of Jose Manuel Tapia and Leo deliver something rare: not just sushi, but a storytelling meal where every plate is a page in an ongoing, delicious epic food story. At the end they will make you additional food for an additional price but it's worth it. They then walked us over to a very nice bar with a great vibe and old school Dazz Band playing like I was in a time machine and it was 1982. Great place, great food, great vibe. Be ready to drop $300 plus per person tip is included but you will want to tip the sushi chefs something extra.
