I fear I will be thinking about this meal for the rest of life. I love catfish BUT I'm also very…read morepicky about it. The best catfish I'd ever had was at Paula Dean's in Tennessee -- that is until I had this catfish. OMGGGG! Unreal. I love these hole-in-the-wall places like this that just make the best food. You'd never assume this would be the best meal I had all trip by looking at the pictures, but it certainly was. Fairly priced. Friendly staff. Super clean. 10/10 experience! My only complaint if I HAD to say something: I wish they had a house-made tartar sauce. The little packet they give you was lackluster. But otherwise incredible meal!!!!

But the counter service is quick and you won't have to wait long. The full-size po-boys are massive. If you get a Ferty (roast beef, ham, Swiss cheese), bring a construction crew to help you eat it, or be prepared to be eating leftovers for two or three days. I love a good shrimp po-boy, but it's usually too big for me. I have landed on the Shrimp on a bun as a fantastic alternative. It's so overstuffed with shrimp you can't eat it without them falling out. And it is perfectly dressed with just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayonnaise. And the fries! Y'all, the fries are so crispy and delicious, and they also come in a massive amount. Too many for one sitting. This is a place I regularly stop at for lunch when I am in this area.

Went by after church for Sunday Brunch, they had a band playing. It was pretty cool. They were busy…read moreand took a bit to get seated. Server was great and apologetic for the wait time. Here's what we ordered and thought he about it: Appetizer - French toast - toddler loved it but not size not worth the price - Meat pies- 4 tiny meat pies, flavor ok but not worth the price -duck quesadilla - I knew it was questionable with paired with jack cheese but I wanted to give it a try. It was a soggy greasy mess. But th sauce was good. Entrees - Chicken and waffles - decent flavor nothing fancy just decent - Kids Seafood crepe - the sauce was great, try crepes were a bit different but good the only thing missing was THE SEAFOOD. Yep, probably had two shrimp the whole crepe and they were cut in half. - Kida chicken tenders - waaaay too hard for kids to eat. The chicken tasted like charred burnt chicken. Like the third maybe 2nd batch of chicken in hot grease that cooks too fast on the outside so it is much darker, harder, and burned than the first batch. I asked for something else because after trying a piece of thr crust, I knew the kids couldn't eat that. The chef refused to take it back or replace INSTEAD he gave extra...like seriously if I feel they couldn't eat the first WHY I WOULD I WANT MORE. Overall, likely not to return. I saw two other tables call server over with issue. One of the deconstructed seafood pivot. Expensive and a waste of money. It was 3 towers of French bread with shrimp in a cream sauce. I saw the waitress tell the guy that it was filled with shrimp in the middle. Well, he opened his up and it was nothing but dry bread. He was visibly pissed. I'm glad I didn't order the full entree seafood crepes but I would have been upset with the amount of seafood which was shrimp only in it.

The greek salad is ok, the lettuce was brown and tasted kind of old. The fried calamari batter was super plain, calamari was small and over cooked and the marinara they serve it with was watery. I hope that is not the same marinara they serve with their pasta dishes. The dinner rolls come in a brown paper bag? Weird.

I had a pleasant experience at Petra…read more The waiter/bartender (possibly owner?) was so sweet and welcoming. She was super attentive. I had the salmon over spinach and added mushrooms. When I tell you that was top 5 best salmon I've ever eaten. It was so flavorful and moist. It was PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked. The spinach, veggies, and potatoes were an excellent touch of freshness. I will definitely be back for the salmon. The Caesar salad was also divine. In fact, I think it's the best Caesar salad I've tried. The dressing is slightly more tart than other Caesar dressings; however, it's tart in the most palate-pleasing way. The cheese was abundant and fresh, and the romaine was crisp and fresh. I did not try the redfish but our family friend was satisfied. Finally, the warm rolls with that butter are enough to start a fight over for the last roll. I ate 3 at the table, which I never do. They're so light, buttery, and are served warm. The butter is possibly a whipped garlic butter concoction. I had to stop eating them. Overall, I really enjoyed our dinner. Do not be thrown off by the dated decor--some of the best food comes from places like these. My only hangup is the imported seafood. I'm not a big fan of imported seafood, in general. However, I do not think that takes away from the restaurant if you're looking for a great meal. And I'm mindful that domestic costs are often (and are growing) financially infeasible for some restaurants. Great spot!!
