Stopped here recently to check it out because of the huge signs in the window and the drive through service. I have to say I'm extremely glad that I did. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with the owner who is extremely friendly and more than anything else his prices are the best in town. He also assured us a very quick turnaround. We dropped off our clothes on Saturday and will be getting them back on Tuesday. We used to use a dry cleaner closer to our house but I realized we've been overpaying for so many years. Advantage dry cleaners will now become our go to dry-cleaning location. read more

NOTE: You will be charged a hefty fee for using a credit or debit card. This is not mentioned when you pay and there are no visible signs alerting you to the fee. And it's a large fee! Typical credit card fees range from 1.5% to 4% and this place charges 4%. They really need to post a clear sign about this near the cash register and also tell customers. Because of this, I wanted to give them only 3 stars, but in all fairness, the dry cleaning has been good and the tailoring decent. read more

UPDATE: Somehow this business was able to get my negative review removed... going to keep posting this for awareness. WORST DRY CLEANER EVER! This place ruined an expensive shirt of mine! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your dry cleaning. I had never been to this dry cleaning location before and decided to give it a try... big mistake. I dropped off some clothing, including an expensive shirt I bought recently that was getting dry cleaned for the first time. When I picked my items up I noticed that the graphic on the shirt looked like it had been scraped off in multiple areas. I showed it to the employee there and she literally told me, "Return it back to where you bought it from. The manufacturer has incorrect cleaning instructions on the washtag and it's not our fault". As if Versace made a mistake! As if any store is going to let you return a damaged shirt! They promised me that they would get it fixed and to come back next week. I came back and guess what? The shirt is in EVEN WORSE condition (I attached a pic). The employees continued to try and blame the clothing brand instead of taking responsibility. Not only that, but they refused to offer me any type of compensation. I had to argue with the employee just to get a refund for this even though they ruined it!!!! Absolutely worst place you can go and drop of your clothes! I am a first time customer! I dropped off new curtain drapes a set of 4 drapes. It took them a week for pick up so I can pick them up with stains and burned holes my brand new curtains that were very expensive!!! The manager SONIA refused to take responsibility and blamed the owner for not refunding the money for the service I was charged to get my brand new curtains damaged!!! $38.12 to get curtain rankles out not for them to return my curtains with chemical stains, burned holes and still with rankles!!! Awful customer service! Brought 2 blouses with tiny stains. Upon pickup, original stains were gone. However, one of them now has a hole and the other has a new stain that wasn't originally there. When brought up to the manager, the response was "That hole was already there, and I already spent too much of my time and chemicals removing the stains. Not doing anything more." And walked away without any care to resolve the situation. Why would I dry clean a shirt that I can't wear with a hole? And why wouldn't he attempt to make things better?? Never coming back. Also note, I originally came in with a competitor coupon because they advertise that they accept competitor coupons on a big sign up front. Was denied the ability to use it because "We don't take Zengler's coupons because they're much more expensive than us." No exceptions listed on the advertisement. So if you plan to use competitor coupons, beware they may not be accepted. read more

I have been using Advantage Cleaners for a while but I'm done. About a year ago I had a comforter and a bedskirt cleaned. I only had one package when I picked up the comforter/bedspread but I "assumed" everything was together - as the tag indicated all pieces were being picked up. When I went to put the bedspread and bedskirt on the bed...no bedskirt. I checked back with Advantage and they indicated I had picked everything up and the bedskirt wasn't there...basically shrugging shoulders and shucking responsibility. OK...so I took the blame. I figured well...maybe I had put the bedskirt away or something. So this year, in July, I once again brought in a comforter, bedskirt and pillow shams. Since I was changing my bedspread and had put the pieces in the closet until I was ready to use. This week I pulled out the pieces to put on the bed and when I got to the pillow shams, I only had one. I checked all the other bags/coat hangers etc. and there was not two pillow shams. I called Advantage and spoke with someone (I'm not sure of his name) and he said there weren't any pieces left I hadn't picked up. He also indicated he had taken a bunch of stuff for donation since it wasn't picked up. I told him this wasn't an issue of picking the stuff up - clearly I picked up my stuff - and said he would check but of course I didn't receive any type of phone call etc. The pillow sham wasn't cheap; but it's just the point. I drop off dry cleaning, receive everything back, with my slip indicating what was dropped off, and yet I'm missing something. It's very frustrating and disappointing. I should have checked all the pieces before I went home the day I picked up my dry cleaning but at the same time...how do you lose this stuff? I will not be returning to do business with Advantage. Once, I can (even though I know it wasn't me) overlook the loss. The second time something is lost, no, I can't excuse this. read more

If there was a way to give this business a minus I would - not because of the quality of work - but because of the behavior of the owner. I saw a sign advertising men's shirts $.99 so I stopped in with several shirts. Only then did he point out that in small print it said that price was only with a dry cleaning order. I suggested that this was a scam way to get business but that I would place the order and see how I liked the results. Then I asked him what nationality he was and he started screaming and swearing telling me that I was a racist and he threw my shirts at me telling me to get the F--- out!! To say the least I found this more than shocking. I am a lady in my late 70's not known to have people hurl insults at me for asking a simple question. He seems to have a successful business and I would think he would be grateful to live and work in this country. Could I have the same opportunity in Pakistan? Deya is the best tailor I have ever worked with. I have been returning to her for about 10 years she has done everything from simple pant hems to altering my $300 prom dresses. She listens to what I ask for and follows through perfectly. I have never been disappointed with her work. Her turn around time is very quick too. Went there to have a jacket that I bought in San Francisco cleaned. When I went to pick it up it was totally ruined. I couldn't believe it. They told me the jacket should not have been dry cleaned. They read the label and it said not to dry clean it. He said we figured you knew and they did it anyway. They did not call me to tell me what the label said. I did not know it couldn't be dry cleaned. There were tough spots they could have cleaned it another way or called me to tell me to pick it up and try it another way. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I brought 2 curtains that cost $25 just to be ironed. They returned me the curtains folded 6 times and when i called the manager to tell him that he said that he is not going to give me back the money because they have done the work. I waited 3 days to pick up the curtains got them more wrinkled than I left them, paid $15 and on top of them the manager was comfortable to tell me that is fine that he is loosing a customer over $15 which customer gave him business since I moved in Palatine in 2003. read more
