I've had cds wireless for 5 years now. Being up in the Mayacamas you don't have a lot of choices for internet service depending where you are. We've had our ups and downs due to weather and equipment problems but for the money and the unlimited data I've been very happy. They're much faster than satellite and they don't throttle you down when you've used too much data. A+ read more

I'm writing this review for my sister. She has had CDS Wireless as an internet provider for just a few months. During this time she has had nothing but trouble. This most recent issue has resulted in her being without internet for two weeks. And as of this writing, her internet is still down. There is no customer service with this company. When you leave them a voicemail, they don't return your calls. Do yourself a favor and choose another provider. read more

They are the worst company I have ever dealt with no response to phone calls they blame all there outages on PG&E! If you call PGE or go in there outage maps they show no outage but CDS does not back there equipment up so they always tell the public it's PGE! I've been up almost every day for the last 15 months with the exception of AT&T outages which apparently CDS cannot control. My radio quit, and after 10 calls and emails from me mostly late on a Sunday, by Monday they were in touch. I had to be packed into their day, and the tech arrived at 7 p.m. I knew he was tired, but still he stayed and got the new radio up, and configured my router properly, and mostly made jokes a lot and made me laugh. I think they're a good small business in Sonoma County, and I wanted to stay with them and support Sonoma County small business. I would recommend. As I say, they have no outages other than what they can't control from the big providers, and they came and fixed my special problem right away. read more

They told me lies for 2 months. I got Verizon, everything works. Cds took their dish and insisted that Verizon doesn't work for TV's, laptops, phones, and things like that. CDS wireless has great customer service and fast internet, at least for me. Out in the country side it's been challenging getting decent internet service and CDS has been a great solution. Whenever there's an issue with speed or an outage they respond quickly. On the phone they're warm and friendly and very helpful. I'm a satisfied customer and recommend them highly. read more

Really bad customer service. 1. They never answer when I call (during normal business hour) when we have an outage. I leave a message on the tech's cell phone number and the office number they don't even have voicemail on it. 2. When there is an outage you never get any updates or text messages or anything letting you know approximately when it might be fixed and to confirm that they know you're actually out of service. We have a rental home that is supposed to have service from this vendor and the approach (direct microwave to fiber) is the best approach for consistent low-latency connections in rural areas. Just cancelled our service with them today. I called another wireless company, and they came out TODAY hooked everything up and they are giving me a faster connection speed 25-75 MBPS 5-15 MBPS upload. I called CDS several times, and I had to hunt them down, so I cancelled. This company has horrible customer service, and connection speed. R-Tech is WAY BETTER. And what can I say about their customer service??? Less than 24 hours and they had me hooked up and blazing. I would give NO stars, but iy won't let me. so lucky you CDS you get a single star. The absolute worst in service. Well, actually Hughes Net is worse but we're setting a very low bar here. If there's a cloud in the sky I have no service. And when it does work I can barely preview a song on iTunes without it buffering every 2 seconds. When I have to install upgrades I need to go to the local coffee shop to use their wifi! I cannot believe that I cannot get high speed internet in Healdsburg. Baffles my mind. It's not like I live in the boonies either. I'm a mile and a half off the 101. Such a missed opportunity here for Comcast, Verizon etc as the many wineries are left without high speed service as well. I've been to third world countries with faster, more reliable service. Goodbye and good riddance, CDS! As indicated in my review from 2014, below, if I could give them zero stars, I would, but Yelp doesn't allow that. It took me awhile to find another wireless broadband vendor in Sonoma County, and I finally made the switch, to Rhinobee. CDS is unresponsive, clearly doesn't care about the awful latency and speeds it provides, and has steadfastly refused my request that they give me a partial credit on my monthly bills because of the poor service, even when their entire system was down for a week. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever encountered from a company of any kind. Like other reviewers here, I started with Sonic but was then switched to CDS -- when i started having only an intermittent connection, I would call and email and call again, and never get a response. the one time a tech person came out to my house, he clearly had no idea what he was doing. So finally I switched to a new provider -- I live in a rural area, up on Sonoma Mtn, so have limited options, but finally found a new one -- and canceled my CDS account. Two months later they called, wanting to retrieve "their" equipment (which i believe i actually bought from Sonic to begin with) from my roof -- which the new provider had already replaced with his own radio. I told them I'd call them back, checked with him, he called & left them a message explaining -- but then, without notice, they came to my house while i was at work and removed all the NEW equipment from my roof, plus the bracket (leaving open holes in my roof), and cut the wires. Unbelievable. Thankfully the new guy came right away to replace the radio on my roof, but OH. MY. GOD. I can't believe they took stuff that didn't belong to them off my roof without even checking with me. do NOT get your service from CDS, if you can possibly avoid it. read more

I see many negative reviews here, but note that most are from 2015 or before. Our experience with CDS Wireless has been very positive since they took over our account from Sonic (which had bought out our original Pogowave account). Although a little rocky at first, the service improved measurably as they invested much of their time and resources into upgrading the older equipment they had received from Sonic. For the past two years, I have had a parallel account with AT&T as part of a service bundle, but I kept CDS as my "backup" because it was the more reliable of the two. Customer Service is commendable as well, with Steve in particular always willing to spend as much time as needed with you on the phone to make sure you are satisfied. Ignore the negative reviews. If you want to support a good, honest LOCAL company with some 39 years of business backing them up, choose CDS Wireless. read more

We needed to switch our rural internet service and were directed to CDS as they served the previous tenants. AMAZING customer service from the man on the phone who confirmed our address and the possibility of us having service. Because the previous tenants had CDS as a provider, and it worked well, we thought it would also. When the technician came out, he was kind and professional. After assessing our location he came to the door to tell us he didn't believe given the needs we had explained to him, that we would be happy with the signal AND explained why! Our current internet service could not explain to us why the internet kept dropping and he did. I AM SO THANKFUL for the honesty of the technician. The last thing we need is another service that doesn't work with our needs. THANK YOU, CDS for your honesty! I wish the signal worked because your customer service is amazing and we would have loved to give you the business. Awful experience. This is a guy in a garage at best. Had them for just over a year. Never achieved the MBs I paid for. Service continually had outages more than once per month for extended periods. Was constantly sending them emails and phone calls with no responses or updates. Felt like I was their sole technical support technician monitoring and bird dogging everything myself! Ridiculous. This has to be one of the worst services out there. Of course, that would be right behind the Hughes satellite internet...So, it is all relative. This service mysteriously goes down Friday afternoon. And of course, they have no service on weekends or any holidays. They do not return phone calls either. I have had a CDS "wireless DSL" since 2005. As a retired computer engineer, I understand that the technology can be "iffy." Up until the past year or so, CDS was very good about working with me to correct the problems as they came up, so I was okay with the service. For the past few months their customer service has simply gone away. They do not answer the phone, and they don't return my messages. As of today (Nov. 11) I have not had internet access since Nov. 6. I have left numerous messages, and they do not return my calls. As a computer engineer I was able to diagnose the problem: either their configuration for me is messed up, or my receiver radio (their equipment) has died. So even though I have diagnosed their problem for them, they refuse to even acknowledge that I exist, let alone fix the problem. I am thoroughly disgusted with this company. I am shopping for alternatives, made difficult because I have to go someplace else to get on the internet. STAY AWAY FROM CDS!!! (signed) An eight-year customer Edit (Jan. 17, 2014): CDS finally made good. They traced the problem to a corroded connector and fixed it a little over a week after I lost my service. In the process, they gave me faster service. And a couple of months later they gave me credit for my down time. I'm happy with the final outcome, but I'm only giving 4 stars because of their poor customer service at the beginning of this ordeal. We have had service from CDS Enterprises for 3 years. We found them to be friendly and very helpful. The service has been excellent. We previously had Exceed and found that to be horrible. CDS has been providing a consistent 5 meg circuit for us. I dont know what the previous Yelper was complaining about...it certainly wasn't our experience. Stay away from this company. We moved up from the Bay Area and were having difficulty finding a service that will work in rural Healdsburg. They promised great service, viable speed (6 mbps down, 1.5 mbps up). After booking the installation, they didn't come out. After multiple phone calls (which no one answered their phones, or took a message and would never receive return calls), they installed, and the speed was so slow, it wouldn't allow me to pull up on my gmail and I couldn't run a speedtest -- it failed over and over. We then received a bill for 2 months of service and installation. My husband called the office and asked how we could be invoiced when their service has never worked. The office/receptionist said that it was installed and we needed to pay. After 3 weeks, some tech finally called and said "I heard you're running a bit slow." We told them to pick up their equipment and leave. It's been a few weeks and they still haven't picked it up. We called Digital Path -- smooth, delivered the speed they promised, amazing service. As of the time of this review, our company email has been down for 4 days. Recording says it was caused by hackers and that the repair should be done soon. This is not the first time this has happened or we've heard this reason for the problem. Have left several messages trying to get a possible date/time when the repair will be made but I can't get a call back. So frustrating! While I understand issues can arise, I see no reason it should take so long to get things fixed. I also think better and more accurate communications should be the norm in this competitive business environment. read more

I give them two stars, because most of the time, the system works more or less. The latency is high, and videos and such don't work very well, but if you have no alternative it's barely acceptable. The problem comes if you ever need them to help you. Their customer service is a bad joke. They rarely respond to trouble tickets, and they don't even post a message on their website when their system is having trouble, so you just have to guess it is, and submit a ticket. If you have any alternative to their service, don't use them. For me at the moment, I'm stuck. read more

CDS is a great option for internet in the country. The price is very fair for unlimited data and you can download HD movies in a reasonable amount of time. Steve is on top of any issue I have. I gave CDS a three month trial period of performance. It's best performance was on the day of installation and it deteriorated after that. Extremely slow download and upload speeds mostly rivaling the dial up era. I took down the dish and returned it and their router and moved on. read more

Install Co-ordination: My connection was installed by Pogowave, which was then sold to Sonic.net, which was then sold to CDS. Non-applicable. Connection reliability: Nada. Zilch. Zero. None of the above. Could not load Google's search page reliably. 0/5. Tech Support: Good luck. If you do get a hold of someone, they're likely to 'pass your troubles on to a technician' and you will never, ever, get a call back. Their dispatch technicians (They have two and they always dispatch out together) are polite, which raises the score to 3/5. Knock it down a notch for the technician having left without verifying the service was working, so 2/5 is the score. Value for money: The funniest thing is that they charge for this crud. We got rooftop wireless back in '03 or '04. Out where we live, it was delivery from dial-up, so we were extremely happy. Over the years, dealing with Pogowave and then Sonic.net, it was nice to be able to call and get a live person. Pogo went under for a number of reasons, none of them due to service. They were a good company. Sonic.net is, of course, honest and their tech support top-notch. When we called due to connection issues, the techs were obviously unfamiliar with our product (got told a couple of times that our link didn't exist, but they found it when we insisted) but did their best to get things working again. Then we got sold to CDS. The link quickly degraded into a hell of 45% to higher packet loss and trying to call them after having dealt with Sonic.net was a slap in the face. Their support hours are 9am to 5pm weekdays only. If you have an issue after 4:30pm, you will never get a hold of a live person. If you do, the person asks you to reboot your equipment, then says they'll pass your troubles on to a technician. I regularly confused the man and woman, singular, same man or woman every time, with terms like 'ping test', 'trace route' and 'latency'. We repeatedly went through the hoops of power cycling both CPE (CPE apparently stands for nothing more than 'customer premise equipment', but that's what they called the little cream Trango box) and the router. We bypassed a superfluous router accidentally installed by Sonic.net, we purchased a new wireless router. We asked them repeatedly to replace our antenna, to replace our CPE, to dispatch a technician. Always it was 'we'll pass your report to our technician and get back to you'. I fully believed at that time the problem was with our aging equipment, but Trango radios and Mikrotic antennas aren't something one can simply pick up at a Best Buy. Finally, our case got escalated to Steve, the owner of the company. Boy howdy is he a charmer and a sweet-talker. He assured us constantly that he had just run a new line in, very expensive, but don't worry, there wouldn't be an increase to our bill, to our tower. It should clear up everything. Our speeds, he said, would be lightning fast (what do speeds matter when you're getting so much packet loss that nothing loads?), just give it a few days. He told us this three times over the space of six months. The first time, I trusted him and wasted $50 on a web seminar that I wasn't able to watch or listen to due to the connection having about 35% packet loss during the duration of the seminar. I became more and more skeptical the more he repeated himself. If you email in, even if you cc him, don't expect to get a response for at least three days to a week. If you send repeated emails, he will get irritated and stop responding all together. Eventually, after about a year, we were able to arrange for a technician dispatch. They came on time, wore booties in the house, were very respectful when they told us that they were not able to improve the connection because the tower had moved to a lower point and there were now trees about half a mile away obstructing the view of the antenna. They raised the antenna about six to eight feet, promised to order a new antenna and left. We discovered, not five minutes after they left, that we had no connection at all. Not even the limping, latency-ridden, packet-dropping nightmare we had experienced until then. We tried to call the technician on the number he left, no answer. It was after 4:30pm by this point, so though we tried to call their home office (repeatedly), we only got their answering machine. They never called back, never delivered the promised new antenna and never followed up. We canceled service. Four months later, the antenna is still on our roof, awaiting CDS to call us and arrange for one of their technicians to come, take it down and haul it away. read more

This believe the company was bought from Sonic. Sonic was a responsive responsible company with good comunication skills. Not to be negative but the customer responce from CDS is horrible. I have tried email and direct phone calls trying to get some answers without so much as a return call or email from the owner Steve, who apparently must give the thumbs up for any alterations to the system. We have a second unit on our property. The tenant wanted internet service which would require a bridge from the main house to the second unit, or so I was told by one of the CDS technicians. To do this required the owner of CDS to give the go ahead. This was never achieved and the tenant gave up on the service after paying $200.00. I had already paid $300.00 as well for the tenant service which I was told did not provide the service the tenant wanted. I have tried to talk with CDS about this without any response what so ever. I am going to discontinue this service and recommend anyone investigating internet service to not consider doing business with this company.
