I typically request very hard pressure. Unfortunately, most masseuses will understandably tire out before 30 minutes and then they coast through the rest of the session. Not Bob - this man kept that very hard pressure I so desperately sought throughout the session and he put all of his energy into my treatment. He was communicative and ensured I was comfortable the entire hour. Honestly? It was one of the best massages I've ever had. Bob, if you're reading this, I sincerely thank you for caring for me today, and I look forward to seeing you sometime soon!

No shoes...super weird. The locker room is standard. The facilities are simple, a sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. I got the 1B package. It consisted of a body scrub, facial, hair wash, milk treatment and massage. It was a 1 hour and 30 min session. This was the unexpected part. Not used to being completely nude. And nude you are. To use the hot tubs anything you are nude. The services were also unexpected. The pressure used to do the body scrub and massage was way too hard. Every time I asked for lighter touch or to avoid an area she would laugh and swat my hand away. Maybe that's what a Korean spa is and how services are done. t was painful and not that enjoyable. Which is why the 3 stars. I will say my skin has never been soft though.

Hands down amazing experience. I've never been to a spa or done any of these treatments before but…read moreI got the Shiny Pearl and I definitely felt like one after. The staff was so kind and helped explain all the facilities and gave suggestions on which to use at what time. The treatment itself was heavenly. And all the facilities were so clean! They have a bunch of different hair/skin products to use after your treatment and they have tea, a coffee machine, water and snacks in case you're in need of some sustenance during your visit. They even have an ATM near the entrance if you forget cash for your tip, or you can Venmo/Zelle. I will 100% be coming back!

Facilities were clean and lovely, they have the spas and massage rooms on the first floor and a clay and salt room on the second floor. There is a vanity room where there are plenty of snacks and water/coffee/tea for you to rehydrate yourself with. I believe you get an hour before and after your appointment to enjoy all the amenities. And if you get the scrub highly recommend coming early and softening up your skin in the spas beforehand. I got the silverbell 1 hour message, which comes with the scrub, massage, and also a hair wash. The lady was super gentle and checked in on me whether that was the water temperature, scrub pressure or the massage strength. I thought with everything going on in this it might feel too rushed but time felt well budgeted.

Back in the day, this was my go to spot for waxes. I went consistently enough that the place that I…read morewould get regularly waxed at, stopped growing hair. That was probably one of the best things about this place besides, they're overall ambience and calm environment. It is also very clean here. I've been to a couple of other places, but this is my regular spot. If for any other reason, I just wanna get like a touchup I would definitely come here and pay the higher price point and get professional service here instead of going somewhere else and paying less but getting subpar service. They also give you numbing spray which is super helpful and other great tips to minimize hair grow growth. Totally worth it and highly recommended!

I visited Cocoon Day Spa in Rockridge for a model lash lift service and it was a great experience…read more I believe the aesthetician was Susannah and she was training someone new (although I forgot their name unfortunately). The service was thorough and I thought they took their time to make sure my lashes looked nice. I will say I did expect a little more information on the different steps during the service or some aftercare instructions. Regardless, I was happy with my lash lift and the results were better than expected. While I have visited this spa for occasional massages and facials in the past, I'd consider returning for lash services in the future. Customer service was friendly and attentive and the spa is cozy and modern. The check in and check out process was easy and efficient. The location is convenient and easy to find. There is street parking available but this can vary depending on when you go. Alternatively, you can also park on a nearby street and walk over. Overall, a solid spa with plenty of services and spa treatments. Worth visiting if you're nearby.

Nobody asked for a Kabuki vs OnsenSF comparison, but here…read moreyou go. 1. $$$ Price Kabuki is $49/pp 2.5 hrs OnsenSF in the tenderloin is $50/pp 2 hours 2. Environment & Ambience: Kabuki has a much wider space, calming music, great ambience, wonderful smells and decor. OnsenSF is a dining space when you enter and spa in the back. Everything looks modern and nice, relaxing environment despite being located in the tenderloin. 3. Hot Tub: Kabuki has a rectangle shaped hot tub as opposed to OnsenSF's square shaped tub. 4. Cold plunge: Kabuki has a cold plunge that's perfect for people who don't need it to be extremely freezing. OnsenSF has a cold shower with many heads in place of a cold plunge. Both are enjoyable experiences 5. Steam Room: Kabuki's steam room is also rectangular as opposed to OnsenSF's square room. Kabuki's steam room also has a shower to rinse off excess salt and sweat before entering the common area. 6. Showers: At Kabuki, there's also a line of stools for the seated handheld showers where you can fill a tub of water and pour it over yourself in addition to the traditional shower stalls, where OnsenSF only has the traditional showers if I recall correctly. 7. Sauna: The sauna was great because you could adjust the heat by moving up the wooden bleachers. There was also plenty of space to stretch out and lie down. There were wooden half-cylinder blocks to place under the neck and back to promote blood flow. My partner's favorite standout was the salt scrub they have that's free to take at the refreshments table. You use it to scrub away dead skin in the shower and steam room. My favorite was the bowl of towels buried in ice cubes that helped me keep a cool head in the hot tub and sauna room. I will say that the thing that makes OnsenSF stand out is their dining pop-ups, but there's plenty of dining options on Fillmore and in Japantown. I would definitely go back to Kabuki again. The experience was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend.
