After meeting with Adam and several other contractors, I decided to go with Patio Guy not only…read morebecause of his five-star rating, but several other factors that were important to me (and probably you as well): 1) He could deliver and install my new cover within a week vs. the other guys taking months; 2) I wasn't limited to just the AlumaWood product (which wasn't modern enough for me), and (3) his price to install with an upgraded cover (insulated) was far below his competitors constrained by higher overhead and slower delivery times. I ended up selecting a Duralum cover that his company also offers, and I'm glad I did. It's just the look I was going for. I was also impressed with Adam's business model, which is built on quality and efficiency at a very reasonable price without cutting corners or sacrificing customer service. Now for the best part: A guy named Brody, his lead installer. In addition to being a super nice guy, his work is meticulous. The back of my home isn't linear, so there are bump-outs and protrusions, making the installation more difficult and time consuming. This wasn't the slightest challenge for Brody and his team. The finished product is snuggled tightly against my stucco and professionally sealed on the roof to prevent any water dripping through when it rains. I watched him work, measuring and cutting the aluminum to match my home so the fit and finish is far greater than I imagined. As you can tell from the photos, I still have work to do (concrete coating, fence repairs, etc.) to match the beauty of my new cover.

Only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. Price, professionalism, communication, demo, build and clean up were all amazing. Highly recommended and would absolutely use again.

We've hired him two…read moretimes for three patios now -- and every single job has had the same pattern: great communication at the start, quick to collect payment, and then a slow and frustrating decline in responsiveness and reliability. First and Second Patios (2023-2024) Mario initially quoted well and seemed easy to work with. But both projects ran behind schedule. He measured wrong on the first patio cover, used visible conduit without asking, and talked us out of gutters that later caused drainage issues. On the second patio, even after giving him a two-month lead time before a big event at our house, the job was only half finished when guests arrived. He did eventually complete them, but only after multiple calls, texts, and follow-ups. Third Patio (2025) This one has been a nightmare. We paid him a deposit in early June 2025 for what was supposed to be a simple project. From there, it was endless chasing -- days, then weeks, of messages like "tomorrow," "let you know soon," and "2 or 3 days." He stopped taking calls, ignored texts, and pushed the project off repeatedly. When he finally resurfaced, he said he couldn't get the material and the price had suddenly doubled from $4,000 to $8,000 without explanation. When we refused and asked for a refund, he promised to return the deposit in 30 business days -- that deadline passed long ago. Still no refund, only excuses about being "stuck with material" or "waiting on the company." Mario is personable and friendly at first, but once he has your money, everything slows down. His pricing looks attractive, but the delays, errors, and lack of accountability make it costly in the end. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt -- three times -- but after this last experience, I can't recommend MG Awning Services to anyone. I know people reading this will ask then why did you go back to him and as I stated, we wanted to give him a chance and he was very convincing that the issues wouldn't repeat themselves. My goal was to get him to come in and also correct the issues w/ the existing patios that we have noticed but nothing. His address here says San Jacinto but his invoices states that he is in Stanton California. Mario, if you're reading this -- please do the right thing and return our payment.

I picked a cloth that I liked and paid a deposit so they could start manufacturing the frames and awning cloths to fit. About three weeks later, I was given a date they would like to install the awnings and I agreed. Three weeks later, Mario said they were ready and asked if I was ready for install. All good. During the recent windstorm we forgot to retract the awning and it was damaged. I first called the original installer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The first thing they told us was that the damage wouldn't be covered because we didn't retract it during the wind storm, and the customer service was extremely rude. It also reminded me how difficult it was working with them in the first place, they gave us the runaround for almost 6 months before the original installation. After that, I reached out to Where Shade Is Made, and the difference was night and day. I spoke directly with the owner, who assured me I would get a call Monday morning to schedule the repair. Sure enough, Monday morning I received a call from Jimmy their GM, and from that point on everything was smooth and professional. By the very next day our shade was repaired and working perfectly again. Even better, Jimmy let us know that the repair didn't require as much work as originally expected, which actually made the final cost lower than the quote. The call never came. I waited another week. I started blowing up his phone because I despise flakes. My last text was "Wednesdays are good". So what does he do? The next Wednesday, without calling, he sends someone out. I'm not even home at the time, you want to know why? My Mom died that day and I was meeting with my family. I get a call from Caleb that someone from his "company" is at my home. I get home and the guy starts taking off the skirting and spends about 45 minutes checking everything out. The guy then tells me my place is off 4 inches in some places and 8 inches in others but he can't start today because he doesn't have the materials. He said he'd call Caleb and give me an estimate. Caleb then calls me and says he'll get back to me with an estimate, but for now, pay the guy's gas, $200! My Mom died unexpectedly 5 hours before this so I'm not in a great frame of mind. I ask for the fee again and he repeats $200. So I ask the guy do you take a credit card or can I zelle you? He said No, he needs cash. He wants me to drive to the local liquor store and pay another $10 in fees to pay this now obviously minor league, crooked company. Anyway I get him the money. Now let's get to the estimate of the work. If my home was off level by 6-8 inches, the skirting around my place would have buckled, bent, and sure as hell wouldn't look perfect. The wall in my home would be cracked. Kitchen cabinets wouldn't stay shut, it would be real obvious that my home wasn't level. OPM is a shyster. I bet the guy makes a living without ever actually doing any work, just collecting gas money. Do not use this company unless you like talking to bullshit artists and hate your money.

Be sure to double check that the colors you wanted on your quote are the same colors that are put into the final contract. Our contract had a color mistake which delayed us about a week with reordering and restocking, but the company was able to work with us to get the problem resolved. The price was right in line with other companies, and the city permit was correct and done properly. Installation was clean and came out just as we imagined.
