I'm unclear how this place has a 4+ star review. My co-workers and I placed an order online for pick-up. I ordered a large green juice and a three asada taco combo with salad and rice. To start with the positive, the green juice was delicious. So glad I ordered it. Was feeling under the weather and it hit the spot. Now the bad- the food was really awful. Again, not sure on the 4+ star review, but everything about it was bad. The asada was sooo salty. I could only force down one. The rice seemed old, like it wasn't freshly made. And the salad didn't have any dressing. It was just lettuce. Was I supposed to ask for it? It wasn't an option in the ordering menu.. and the salsa was average. Nothing special. Pretty watery and mild. Really disappointed we ordered from here. There is a plethora of Mexican food options in the area and we landed on this spot because of the positive reviews. Made a call to deli Mex for spur of the moment dinner party. Ricardo was very easy to work with and offered several options to fit our budget and individual dinnerware . The food came out fresh, delicious, and at a great price! We had chicken tacos, rice, beans with all the accoutrements... lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, salsa and guacamole plus chips. I've been going to this little mom and pop shop for years. Its family ran Mexican restaurant with the owner Abraham and his son up front while the owner's sister cooks in the back. Or at least she used to, have not asked lately. Food is always delicious, made with fresh ingredients. It takes a little to prepare, but like any home cooked meal I guess. Totally worth it. They also vary Mexican cola and other drinks. And you can order freshly squeezed juices of your choice too. I usually come for the garlic shrimp plate with rice, refined beans and salad. read more

Found this amazing little hole in the wall breakfast spot while waiting for our car to be serviced. I've been craving a really good breakfast burrito for the past couple of weeks and Deli Mex did not disappoint !! The chorizo burrito was perfect and fat as fuck pro tip check in on yelp for free chips and dip :) the dip itself was very, very good. There's a sign in front of the cash register stating that all of their sauces are homemade. You can definitely taste the love and authenticity in every bite. Although there's not a lot of seating, it's very cozy and cute inside. The owner/manager/chef (?) was so sweet and accommodating he def made sure we had a good experience :) Will definitely be back even when we're not getting our car serviced lol read more

Went off a recommendation and saw the great reviews. Order a carne asada burrito and person who takes your order is super nice and really want to give this 5 starts but just can't because I was let down by the burrito. I think it's because my expectations were so high because it's a good burrito it's just not an amazing burrito. I like a ton of meat in mine and didn't taste the meat as much as I'd like. Fantastic homemade food. This restaurant is a hole in the wall treasure find. The food is made to order. Even the tortilla chips are homemade. Deli Mex is a nondescript place on the corner of Magnolia and Van Nuys but the their Chorizo and Mega breakfast burritos are unbelievably good. Being so tasty and full of flavor, the chorizo stuffed with egg and cheese was my favorite. The mega is your classic egg, sausage, bacon and potato burrito. The place is tiny with a couple of tables inside and in front. You'll probably want to get it to go anyway so call ahead to skip any wait. Skipped dinner on Friday night and woke up with a strong craving for a breakfast burrito. I've lived in Studio City for 10 months and still haven't found "the one". Cactus (sherman oaks and studio city), Joan's, Jumpin' Java, all were good but not "it". Deli Mex is the one! It was so good. I had the chorizo and egg burrito and it was fire and the homemade hot sauce was the perfect compliment. I was so hungry I forgot to take a pic but I will next time. Also I'm going to add potatoes. Date: April 29, 2023 Hubs and I were looking for a breakfast burrito and saw Deli Max was close by so we decided to throw the kiddos in a stroller and started walking over. It's a small little shop located at the right hand corner of Magnolia. They have two tables outside as the inside is tiny. There were only two workers inside. We ordered two Mega Breakfast burritos since they came with everything inside and then got a couple sodas, water bottles and a Gatorade to go with it. The burritos took almost 20 minutes to finish and sadly were way smaller than we imagined for 12$. Didn't have too much flavor either but their salsa's were good. Finished the entire thing in a couple bites and was still starving. :(. They have a free chips and salsa with check in however they said they don't have chips for breakfast time. Wish it was stated that it was only during lunch. Overall glad we got to try it out. May be back to try something else in the future but still on the hunt for a good breakfast burrito in the SFV. read more

Bienviendos to Deli Mex!! A slice of flavor in the city of Sherman Oaks I just cant enough of. From delicious burritos, enchiladas, tacos, tortas y mas to juices and smoothies made fresh daily as well as a few bottled classics in their fridge for grab and go beverages. This local small biz is open daily from breakfast to dinner offering some of the best and freshest eats in Los Angeles. The vegetarian menu is definitely more my flavor/ personal flavor especially the Abe burrito and/or Veggie Burrito hold the rice, add Avocado. The rice while made to perfection isn't quite vegano, pero es vegetariano... Most of the juices and smoothies are dairy free and vegan by default also. Ordering online on their website is super easy as is any third party apps. They are happy to accommodate you however the can and pride themselves on being a neighborhood delight. My buddy comes here often for various breakfast burritos but has to hold the eggs due to allergies and he raves about the food everytime he tries a new one especially the Mega Breakfast Burrito and the veggie. I believe they also have a variety of plates just for the morning menu, available from 9am to 11 am exclusively. The parking is mainly street, but they do have some limited parking just past their outdoor tables and chairs off Magnolia Blvd behind By The Way Burger - first come first serve however you can often get lucky and find something in front... I just get lucky and walk here as it's closeby to me. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any of your menu needs. My third time at Deli Mex! And there will be many more. read more
