Unfortunately.....ended up disappointing Here is why: I've been to quite a few tacos spots. I've been trying to try this one because I saw the hype on social media (maybe I was expecting them to live.up to that hype) Tacos - 2 stars: there was flavor in the asada and al pastor but the tortillas were small and kinda of hard. They may have left them on the grill too long. Im used to the nice soft delicious tortillas. Guacamole was ok Prices - 2 stars: spent $41 for 8 tacos and 2 senorials. They are over priced and portions are very small. I could have gotten more for my buck somewhere else for example: tacos el venado on sepulveda. They are really good. Angels tacos on sherman way (they have home made tortillas and their tacos are twice as big Over all, disappointing. Would I come back again? Not even if I was starving. I've been trying to track down this taco truck for a few weeks now because I've been seen several different influencers posting about how good the food is. It's been labeled as the in n out of tacos because of how good they are and the sauce they put on the tacos. Well, I was driving down Ventura blvd headed home and I saw the big red truck parked by Anejo Cantina so I busted a quick u-turn and parked in the parking lot. I quickly hopped out thinking about how fire these tacos were about to be. I noticed they had a few pullout tables and chairs set up on the sidewalk for people who wanted to "dine in" while out and I thought that was pretty cool. The tables were clean too, so that's always a plus. Once I got to the menu and looked at all of the pictures on the truck, I noticed that there were so many options and I wasn't sure what I wanted. I had to remember to refocus on trying these tacos and keep the main thing the main thing like Jalen Hurts. There wasn't a line and they quickly took my order and I headed to the car. I opened the box and saw the tacos and automatically knew I wasn't about to eat these tacos in my car and get sauce everywhere so I devoured them on the trunk. My honest opinion is, they were pretty good but not as good as I thought they would be. I got an Al pastor and a chicken taco thinking the Al pastor would have pineapple and it didn't. However, they were pretty good and I would have them again. I am interested in several other items on their menu like the birria sampler, burritos and quesadillas. We really enjoyed our tacos from here. They were super flavorful, juicy, and really satisfying. We all ordered the chicken tacos and the meat was excellent -- honestly the best part. I wish I had ordered more. The menu is small but solid, which I actually appreciate. Next time I'm definitely trying the chile relleno burrito. I know they're a birria spot but I got the asada burrito on a lark and man I don't know what they're doing but it's so good. Very straight ahead type of burrito. The tacos here are BOMB. Their Al pastor is fire. The tacos here are VERY authentic. The tortillas are handmade and absolutely DELISHH and flavorful. The tijuanese tacos are a little smaller than your average taco, which happens to be the authentic size, so be sure to order accordingly. I am a hungry gal and can easily take out 6 tacos and still have room for another. Perks of smaller tacos is more opportunity to try different proteins so keep that in mind! If you're feeling like you got cravings for some munchies, their nachos are also STACKED. I usually end up splitting an order with my partner. Sometimes we will get nachos and 2 tacos each.. lol it depends on your appetite. It's a taco truck so all walks of life come through. They have little plastic tables and stools set up so you can eat there if you want but I would rather take it to go and enjoy it at home.. or in my car lol. Cash would be better since they sometimes have deals but they accept card as well. Parking is super easy considering you can use the street or the lot. I've been to this food truck a hand full of times, They're normally parked right on the street across from CVS pharmacy and anejo the Mexican restaurant with the balcony. My bf lives within walking distance and was raving about how yummy these tacos are so I had to try them! They are decently priced so I'll go grab myself a few whenever the craving strikes. I love their tacos tijuanese style with guacamole, onions and cilantro already dresses. Their birria tacos are juicy and full of flavor. You can taste the high quality ingredients. So happy that I took a chance and tried this new truck that's been sitting outside of CVS on Ventura Blvd. great customer service Francisco was very friendly and kindly helped me navigate the menu and what the most popular items were to try. And man was everything tasty! It's a Tijuana style food truck that serves two meats steak and birria. I tried four items. A beef tostaditas (#14), beef Mulita (#9), beef street taco (comes with guacamole #12) and a cheese birria taco (quesataco #4). Everything was so good I'm not sure I could pick a favorite! I also tried their mild (green) salsa on the side and it was still too hot for me! So beware their salsas pack some heat! Bring cash as it's cheaper that way. On my first visit I ordered carne asada tacos. I thought they were just ok. The meat flavor was good but they were dry in texture. The tortillas were a bit hard, but good in flavor, as well. The red salsa was very spicy. The green was more mild. On the second visit we ordered 6 separate orders online for a work lunch. We showed up to pick them up on time and they had not even started on any of them. Hadn't even printed the tickets. The guys said they would have them done in approximately 7 minutes and they did. Okay, I have been impartial to getting my barbacoa from Cilantros... however, a friend of mine brought me this from a food truck and I had to hunt it down to try it again since he only gave me one damn taco, and I had to be sure it was the same spot. Brilliant Barbacoa! This juicy, zesty, not too salty, moist shredded beef that melts in your mouth and and only gets better when dipped in the barbacoa au jus, is a masterpiece. I have had it 3 times now to check for consistency before writing, and it's spot on everytime. They have other good food there but this is the top to have on my radar.
