I have been using Chet's for ten plus years and have referred a lot of business their way. I will never use Chet's again. I took my Tacoma to get aligned after installing some suspension parts and new tires. I dropped it off in the morning and left it with them for the day, he said they would fit it in somewhere in the day. He charged me an additional $50 labor for adjusting the upper control arm ball joints on top of the $109 alignment fee. When I picked it up, Jon is I believe his name, told me everything looked good and there was not any rubbing which is a specific issue when lifting these trucks and increasing the tire size. Immediately when I pulled out the alignment wasn't correct as the tires rubbed the back of the fender well. I was leaving town for a few weeks and didn't have time to turn around and have them look at it at that time. I called when I was back in town and they couldn't get it in for a week to look at it. When I arrived, Jon asked if the steering wheel was not straight, ensuing I hit something and knocked the alignment out. I waited as they took the truck back and put it on the alignment rack. About 30 minutes later, Jon came in the office and said "we have a problem", what's that I said? He took me to the computer and showed me a video of his tech supposedly tightening the lower control arm bolts with an impact, he said this video was from when I originally took the truck in, For all I know the video was just taken while I was waiting. It doesn't take 30 minutes to discover that 4 of maybe ten bolts they adjust were loose and wouldn't you take the customer out and show it to them on the car immediately when you found them loose? He said that all four were loose and someone had gotten under my truck and loosened them because they didn't leave them loose, well I looked at them before bringing the truck in as I was curious where they had put them to align it, they weren't loose. That doesn't explain why the truck was rubbing the minute I picked it up. He said the alignment was not anywhere close to where they had it due to the bolts being loose and they could fix it but they would have to charge me again. I was shocked by what they said and had to get it drivable so I went ahead and paid it. While sitting there waiting, I was thinking to myself, what a load of crap, these clowns think I'm that gullible, rather than admit to doing a poor job and fixing their mistake they are trying to make me believe someone is trying to kill me and charging me for it! Never again! They put on this role of being the honest good guys, they aren't, they are just as bad if not worse than the grime stealing from Home Depot, they have your trust and screw you! Don't subject yourself to being put in this position with them, they aren't the honest guys they portray themselves to be. Bottom line is these guys don't do the best work and when you point it out, they will fabricate a story that someone is trying to kill you because they are too full of themselves to admit they made a mistake! Not only that, they will get you to pay them twice for something that they did wrong! Be aware, "they don't make mistakes" according to John! The likelihood of someone crawling under my truck and having the correct size wrenches to loosen lower control arm bolts is very slim, wouldn't they do something other than that if they were trying to harm me, like drain the engine oil or cut a brake line! They did a poor rushed job and didn't want to fix their mistake so they fabricated a bunch of bs and had the arrogance to charge me! I trusted them and they took their mistake as a chance to get another $110 out of me, they will do it to you too if given the chance! I sure hope it was worth that $110, I'm going to be sure to tell everyone I know what crooks you are! It was very obvious what you were doing, You all need to take some acting classes, you're terrible liars! PS: I was going to leave a review on their website but I know they filter them as they only have 5 star reviews, I think I will stick with google and yelp! I have done alignments myself for a couple years, and have a hard time trusting my vehicle maintenance/repair needs to anyone else. I set an appointment with them via phone for 9am, i showed up a couple minutes till. immediately upon arrival they took my truck for a spin and then into the service bay. I was done in 45 minutes. they were honest about me not needing any additional front steering/suspension parts replaced. It drives strait as can be... they provided me with before and after printouts of my alignment. this is one sign or a reputable alignment service.. they show you how close they got it after their efforts in writing. All this after trying 4 other shops in town that couldn't align my truck due to weight, length, wheels or the lift kit. My 2010 Jeep Wrangler was shimmying down the road bad and I could tell that the tires were wearing off to one side. I have to leave tomorrow morning to go to Nevada to visit an old Air Force Brother that was diagnosed with cancer. I just had shoulder surgery so the motorcycle was out. I had to do something about the Jeep but I am so short on money. Being a 100% Disabled Veteran living on Disability, I have to budget accordingly. I got online and did a Google search last night and found Chet's Wheel Alignment. I visited there professional looking website and saw that they did much more that just wheel alignment, other services include tire rotation, balancing and even brakes. They did not have the prices on the website but I could contact them through email since it was after their business hours. I sent an email requesting a price quote for rotating and balancing my tires and a front end alignment. To my surprise I had a reply to my email from Gary at Chet's Wheel Alignment first thing in the morning with a very reasonable quote! I called Gary this morning and told him my problem. He said he could move things around and get me in this afternoon! So, I got directions off their website and drove out there. When I arrived, I was greeted by Gary when I came through the door and he ask me a few more questions to better understand what I really needed. He even gave me an estimated of the time that it would take to finish the job. I gave him my keys and took my dog, Bob for a nice walk to a small park (Cutler Park) that was only .3 miles away. After about an hour, but still sooner than I was expected, I returned and waited in their air conditioned office. I wasn't there long when Gary told me my Jeep was ready. It was almost a half-hour earlier than was estimated! I asked Gary if they gave Veterans discounts and he said he would and he thanked me for my service. He explained everything they did and what I could expect. He even went outside to check my tire tread because I was concerned on when I should replace the tires. Told me I had no problems and could get 15,000 more miles out of my tires easy. I came out of that place feeling great. My Jeep is rolling down the road smooth now. I am only rating the customer service here. I had a sub par experience with Gary and Tim. They were really impatient. I asked Gary to help me understand why brakes squeak. He gave a long deep sigh and said, do you really want me to go over that? I did, but I was afraid to ask more because he sounded like he really didn't want to talk to me haha. Overall he was kind of mean to me in the way he spoke to me, but maybe he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. When I went to Albuquerque Tire it was like night and day. Richard was super nice, super patient, and didn't mind explaining to me what was wrong with the car. There was no pressure or condescending in our interaction. Also Chet's only does a full for wheel alignment, even if all you need is a front wheel adjustment. Albuquerque Tire was honest and let me know I only needed a front wheel adjustment and I saved $15. Chet's will charge $25 extra for brake inspection. Albuquerque Tire will do it for free. I mainly just wish that they had treated me like a real person and not something that was stupid and annoying. I don't know much about cars and I need people to be patient, courteous and kind to me if I don't understand something. read more

They are always careful with my wheels unlike some of the other discount stores in town. These guys are great! I took my son's car to Brake Masters on San Antonio for a simple alignment. They said I had to rebuild the entire front end on the 2001 Blazer, at a cost of $3000 (3 times what the vehicle is worth). I know a little about this stuff and asked the guy why they are trying to sell me four complete control arms at $400 a piece, instead of just the worn bushings - he said that's just the way they do it. I drove down the street to Chet's, they squeezed me in, did the alignment, and quoted me $200 to fix the worn front end. I do all my own auto work for my family (of seven) but when I need to take something in for suspension or steering, I'll never go anywhere else and I refer everybody there. Thanks dudes. read more

He was less than professional in his response and had he appeared remotely interested in having my business, this review could have been better. Tim and Gary are knowledgeable, but they are very grumpy men that hate explaining things to customers that are ignorant of automotive repair or maintenance. They make me feel like I am inconveniencing them. They get defensive and are narcissistic. My last visit, my car was aligned. My car seems to be driving better. The work was done in a timely manner. There are other good places that want my business. I am tired of being afraid to ask questions and understand the items being repaired. I will probably not return. read more

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I didn't know you really need an appointment, but I got lucky and they squeezed me in anyway. They have a Hunter balancer and actually know how to use it. I've had tires balanced all over North America, and the only other shop I've found that truly knows how to get vibration out of a car is up in Boise, Idaho. To the reviewers complaining about attitude, I can only say I don't care about attitude when they know what they're doing, and these guys do. I took my beater Camry I use for commuting in yesterday which had a terrible balance job done when four new Michelin tires were put on by a different shop. After Chet's redid the balance and most importantly, ensured all the wheels were true, it now runs perfectly flat at... extremely high speed. Feels like a brand new car now except for some residual noise due to some uneven tire wear caused by the original bad balance. read more

They recommended that I replace all 4 MacPherson strut cartridges (front and rear) along with some worn control arm bushings to correct "cupping" wear of relatively new tires. It was a good thing I took their advice because the old cartridges I personally examined had no "spring" left in them at all! A minor accident forced the replacement of tie rods on one wheel of my Ford Raptor. The insurance repair shop aligned it, but it pulled to the left. I took it to the dealer, but they couldn't use their computer to align it because I had the factory-upgrade beadlock wheels. Chet's did what two others couldn't do: they got my Raptor going in a straight line again on the first try. I'm thrilled. read more

For the my first visit to this shop I was not impressed. The gentleman on the phone sounded nice and professional, but when I arrived at the front desk they were short and seemed irritated. At the end of my service I had to get a-little aggressive with the technician because he started giving me a crappy attitude and was not very informative about what needed to be done to my car for the rear alignment. I basically had to tell him with a former military tone to be clear on what the problem was and the solution. I will never return for service!! read more

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! PLEASE! Chet's Alignment forgot to tighten my lug nuts on my automobile's wheel. One fell off. My car received a camber shim during a four wheel alignment. I noticed a wobble driving home. It was loose lug nuts with one missing. Tim charged $92.60 plus tax. 06/14/2018 2:00 PM Just called Chet's Alignment and talked to John. I explained who I was and what happened. He said that it did not happen. He said they have surveillance and that the lug nuts were correctly installed onto my vehicle and that he does not believe me. I explained that the lug nuts were put on the vehicle but not torqued otherwise a lug nut would have not fallen off and I would not have had to torque the remaining lug nuts. Bottom line, He said he did not believe me. I let him know I would not be returning. The arrogance of this shop is awful, between Tim and John I have had enough. This is another old business that has eliminated good customer service. SAD. read more

I went to Chet's alignment to get my truck aligned the day I was going to Colorado, once I got on the highway I noticed my car still pulled to the right, I had my whole front suspension replaced except one part the Pitman arm , they told me I would need another alignment afterwards and that's fine but they would not warranty my alignment even with my whole front suspension being replaced because they didn't do the work I needed some other work done as well like the one upper Control arm bushing started to show signs of wearing, and he told me that if I use my own parts that the price would go up because they're not gonna make no money off of my parts, once I got to Colorado I had taken it to an alignment shop down there for a free alignment check up and they told me that it still needs to be aligned my steering will is cocked to the left as I'm driving and my car still pulls to the right the gentleman did a test drive at chets around the block at normal speed I guess it was OK for them I paid $122 for alignment and my personal opinion it's still drove the same as I brought it to them before the alignment , and I don't understand why this shop will not give a warranty on alignments just because they didn't put the parts on themselves so just be aware when taking your car to this alignment shop if they don't do the work themselves you will be charged extra labor because they didn't do the work and you will not have a warranty on your alignment. I was in Colorado for a month so this review is a little late but it's better to be late then never. read more
