We ended up staying way longer than planned because it's just that fun -- grabbing drinks, watching people battle it out on the big screens, and soaking in the atmosphere. It's not your typical bar where everyone just stands around. There's always something going on and the vibe is super welcoming and energetic and the owners are so cool! If you love retro games, colorful arcade energy, and good drinks, Vault 31 is an absolute gem.

After ordering food and a round of drinks for the group, we sat down at one of the gaming booths, excited to dive in. When I went back to the counter to ask how to start playing, the bartender told me it was $5 per person to access the games and that guests needed to consistently order drinks to maintain access. Honestly, that seemed fair to me. However, things quickly went downhill. I offered to pay the game fee, but was told I needed to buy drinks first. I explained we had just bought drinks--he had literally served us minutes earlier. His response: "You need to have an open tab, and we won't let you play unless you order more." At that point, the experience soured. The staff felt dismissive and unwelcoming throughout the interaction. Despite already spending money, we were denied access to what we came for. We finished our drinks--which, for some reason, didn't count--and left. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, likely my last. (This place had 5-star potential when I first arrived, but the staff interaction left miserable)

When we arrived on reservation day, the staff was prepared with our reservation information and we completed the remaining payment and shoe rentals for our group. The process was smooth and painless. The snack bar staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We ordered the club sandwich with fries and the pretzels with nacho cheese. Both were really good. We were pleasantly surprised. Reasonably priced and fresh ingredients. The establishment was clean and set up well. Happy we were able to eat while we bowled down by the scoring machine. We also appreciated that they spread out the bowling groups well, so we didn't feel like we were bowling on top of each other. Overall a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

We payed and waited 25 minutes before we finally asked someone. The person we asked said the food has been ready at the front counter for the past 20 plus minutes. When we asked about the app and delivery she smirked off with... "that isn't her job, that's on someone else." We went up to get our food to be extremely disappointed. Chips were stale, cheese was ice cold and they put a mount of sour cream. We asked for a new set of nachos and the guy just put a layer of new hot cheese on a few chips. I wouldn't take my worst enemy to this place. Complete garbage food, smelt weird and very dirty. 1/10.. I give it a 1 because it's in a decent neighborhood.. I would give it a 0/10 but the lanes seemed well maintained.

My son and I had one mission: swing by…read moreGameStop, grab a couple of games, and head home before I somehow got talked into buying another controller we definitely didn't need. We took a different exit through Vancouver Mall, and that's when I spotted a sign that read, "Ice Cream - $1 a scoop." Well... now we're negotiating. One scoop turned into wandering into Round1, and I swear I felt like I accidentally walked into an arcade the size of a small airport. If you're into claw machines, congratulations you've found your homeland. I think they had enough of them to keep a thousand stuffed animals unemployed. Everywhere I looked there were lights flashing, people laughing, prizes dangling just out of reach, and enough games to make my son forget I existed for a while. Then I saw it. The bowling alley. I lit up like a kid who just found out recess got extended. I love bowling, and usually a bowling night means my wallet leaves with a limp. By the time you pay for bowling, shoes, food, drinks, and whatever else mysteriously ends up on the bill, you're wondering if you accidentally financed the lanes. Round1 was different. It's affordable, it's convenient, and it's sitting right inside the mall. That's a dangerous combination... mostly for my free time. The whole place was spotless. The staff was friendly, everything looked modern, and the lighting and giant screens gave it that fun, energetic vibe without feeling over the top. It's not the biggest bowling alley you'll ever see, but honestly, who cares? It's close, it's clean, there's great food just steps away, and after you're done bowling you can lose to your kid in a racing game before watching him dominate a claw machine you swear is rigged. I lived in Vancouver for a while years ago, and now that I'm back, I'm constantly surprised by all the new places popping up. This was one of those surprises that made me smile. I'm not even a huge arcade guy by myself, but with my son? It turned an ordinary shopping trip into one of those afternoons you remember long after the games are over. Some people rate places by comparing them to the biggest and fanciest entertainment centers. I rate them by one simple question: Did I leave happier than when I walked in? The answer here is an easy yes. Round1 isn't just an arcade. It's one of those places where a quick stop somehow turns into, "Wait... we've been here three hours?" Five stars from me. Just don't blame me when you tell your kids you're "just stopping by for a minute" and suddenly you're carrying a giant stuffed banana, holding bowling shoes, and wondering where the afternoon went.

Let's start off with the claw machines, we had a blast (for the most part). The large and medium claws we found we could win before it was time for payout. The mini claws, were just as expensive as the other claw machines, and way harder to win from. As for the arcade section, it was very lackluster. The games were pricey, some didn't work, while others were missing balls or beanbags. It was hard to accumulate enough tickets to get anything substantial from the prize area. The staff we encountered had mixed attitudes. Some were very nice and helpful with resetting the claw machines, while others seemed putout, that they hated working there, and were quite surly. Overall we enjoyed ourselves in the claw area, and would come back just to experience that.

The service is consistently rude, cold, and unprofessional. It's the same group every time, and nothing ever improves. There's no sense of customer service. Just short attitudes and a clear vibe that they don't want to be there or deal with people. On my most recent visit, I had an issue where my phone number was entered incorrectly. When I pointed it out, instead of simply fixing it, the response I got was irritation and attitude. Like I was the problem for asking them to correct their own mistake. That kind of interaction is unacceptable anywhere, especially in a place that markets itself as family-friendly. At this point, it's not a one-off, it's a pattern. When multiple visits consistently come with the same poor experience, it reflects a bigger issue with management and expectations. We enjoy bringing our kids here, but the ongoing lack of basic professionalism from the bar staff and the wait staff in the bowling alley, is seriously dragging down the experience. It shouldn't be this hard to get decent service. We all know it all starts at the top.

A solid 4. Man alive is it EXPENSIVE to bowl now a days. Oh lord - do I sound OLD AF saying that!!!…read moreHa! My daughter and I went to bowl as part of celebrating her birthday. She and I chose King Pins. Well I technically chose them as the bowling was the least expensive in the area. And for us two, for 90 minutes, it was almost $70. Yes. That's EXPENSIVE. So we made the most of it and had a great time. We played with all the options in the bowling area for games and were silly and had fun. And clearly didn't bowl well lol But despite the price - fun was had. Service is okay at best over by the "Tap house," but at least the option exists to have "table service," while you bowl. It was a last minute ask (thank you, dear child *eye roll*) that I was able to book at a preferred time in under a week, and the kids had fun, which is what mattered most! From start to finish, service was spot on: we were met by Coleton who walked us through the logistics & timing, as well as helped with some changes I requested due to attendance, and our server was Paige who made sure the boys never went without beverages. Pizzas came out quickly so the kids were able to eat & bowl, and everything was timed to perfection so they were able to sing to the Birthday Boy and enjoy cake before heading over for some Laser Tag & arcade time to end the festivities. It was also great to have a table reserved in the arcade area for belongings & whatnot, which also allowed some pitchers of beverages for the rest of the time. The space itself was immaculate and staff was buzzing around to keep tables turned over, bowling balls replaced to their rightful homes for future bowlers and the restrooms (at least the ladies!) were also clean (I know that can be a big deal for families, especially with Littles). All in all, I'd say this was money well spent, especially considering everything that is included in the package. For 7 total kids, I think they played 3-4 games of bowling, we did 2 laser tag games & their arcade time, didn't have to set up, break down or clean up party supplies/food, etc -- id do it again in a heartbeat!

It was quite, about 3 patrons already seated, eating, and a few more at the video games/casino room. We've known about this restaurant for 13 years, since I've been coming in the area to do my market. This is actually the first time, we stopped inside for food. The booth where we sat, was too worn down, that I sank way low, the table comes up to my chest, we decided to sit ourselves on the dining table. The table we picked and already seated by then, was sticky. After my order, I mentioned our waitress, about it, and she came give it a nice clean. We waited awhile for our server, but not too long. Football games were playing on the large screens. From the menu we ordered, BLT sandwich with Beef & Barley Soup (I asked), and French Dip Sandwich with a side salad and Ranch Dressing. All the food were pretty good (since we didn't fix it ourselves), except the au jus which we found a bit salty. Our server was pleasant and checked with us several times. However, at the end, when we were waiting for our check, she went out for smoke. I went to use the restroom, came back, and still waiting for her to finish her smoke, sitting there waiting, bored! The chairs were pretty worn down, the restrooms need a good scrubbing, and re-painted the writings on the walls. In other words, a good make-over!
