My coworkers and I love coming here for happy hour. Carolanne has been there most times we have gone and been absolutely wonderful and super attentive to everyone in the bar. It's significantly quieter when we've gone - around 530pm. They have happy hour until 7pm and honestly their food is some of the better bar food I've had. Their food is $6/item for happy hour. HIGHLY recommend the sweet potato fries and fried chicken tacos. It is dark in there - so fair warning. But otherwise it's a fun atmosphere and a great place to get an after work drink. read more

This place fell off hard. It used to be welcoming, fun, and packed with good energy. Since the new owner took over, the vibe has completely tanked. The atmosphere feels tense, people are getting kicked out for no clear reason, and it's uncomfortable just being there. The leadership shows. Rude, unwelcoming, and clearly out of touch with the crowd that built this bar in the first place. Yes, it's technically a country bar -- and that was fine. What made it work was the balance. They used to blend in other genres, which kept the dance floor full and the crowd diverse. Now it's country-only, all night, no variation. There's nothing wrong with country, but stripping away the mix that made it successful feels like a lazy, tone-deaf decision driving away a lot of customers. My 21 year old 95lbs friend was taken advantage of by the male Saturday night bartender a little over 6 months ago. This was after he was serving her drinks and got her intoxicated. I sent them a email after the incident and they did nothing. The workers here are not owners, managers, bartenders, and barbacks they are predators and enablers. This is not name calling it is fact. Here is the email I sent.... "Hey Their, I had a disturbing talk with a close friend a few days ago. My friend came into your bar 2-3 weeks ago on I believe a Saturday night. She was a 21 year old 5'1 95lbs woman with very long straight black hair. She was intoxicated and had her friends wingman to get the attention of one of your bartenders. The bartender and my freind ended up going to her car at the downtown parking garage. They ended up having intercourse. Before my freind told me this I brought up alcohol 2 times and both times she got quiet. When she told me about what happened she acted very cheerful like she had an amazing time. Thought when I asked questions she stopped answering and got quiet. The rest of the time we were hanging out she looked dead. She can label it internally although it's too hard for her to verbalize it right now. From what I gathered it seems like he was manipulating consent by constantly asking for reassurance while she was intoxicated. This is why right now she is very confused as to what happened. She is seriously hurt from this event and has been withdrawing from her friends and family. I wanted to bring this to your attention becuse bars should be a safe place for all people to have consensual fun. Racist and Disgusting Behavior at the Door I'll never go back to this place. We came with a group of friends for a night out -- everyone got in no problem... except my Indian friend. The bouncer looked at him, asked for ID (which he had), then claimed it "didn't look real" and denied him entry. Keep in mind, every single white person in our group got in without even being asked for theirs. Some didn't even have their IDs ready -- they just walked right in. We questioned it, and the staff doubled down. No apology, no explanation -- just a smirk and a shoulder shrug. It was obvious what was going on. Racist behavior like this doesn't just "slip through" -- it's part of the culture at this bar. If you're not white, don't expect fair treatment. Hands down the worst bar experience I've ever had -- and I've been to dive bars under bridges. Walked in and the smell hit me like a DUI. Sticky floors, broken chairs, and a bathroom that looked like it witnessed a crime scene. The bartender looked like they hated their life and took it out on every drink they made. $16 for a cocktail that tasted like melted cough drops and regret. They were out of half the drinks on the menu, served the wrong beer twice, and the "kitchen" (if you can call it that) served me chicken wings that were somehow both raw and burnt. The decor, music and dark moody lighting makes for the perfect date night or after work Happy Hour rendezvous. The Happy Hour menu is the best in town for price, quality and variety. We usually go for happy hour or early dinner. We have had almost everything on the menu. I just happened to be in Vancouver for business and had not eaten all day. It was late and my stomach was starting to eat on my backbone. This is one of the few places open after 10:00 pm on a Sunday so I was kind of forced here if I wanted something to eat. However, I am glad I stopped by for a bite to eat. I'll get to the food in a bit but the establishment is nice. It has several different sections including billiards in the back area of the establishment. Now on to the food... don't judge me but I was being greedy. That's what happens when you don't eat all day. You tend to overeat when you finally have a meal. At this point, I really did not care as I was starving. I went with a BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese with fried pickles!   Good Googly-Moogly... this sandwich rocked. It was something different and I enjoyed every bit. Since I was hungry, I also went with the Mac n Cheese topped with fried chicken. This was also on my top list of things to eat. I don't know how anybody can live near this place. If I were close, I would gain so much weight because both of these dishes would be my go-to on a daily. Thought there would be seats because I wore heels/ wedges. Walk in and saw there was standing room only. Wish they would have told us when we got tickets! At least the vip got to stand in front but! BIG MISTAKE. Idk how they can call that a whiskey sour but whatever it was tasted absolutely disgusting. We were sitting at the bar and there was a bowl of pre-cut limes sitting out that looked like they'd been sitting there for a week with browned edges, one of which was served to me with my whiskey sour. Also, our bartender was super friendly and nice to talk to but expressed he had been working since 1pm and wasn't going to leave until 5am, and seemed like he was the only staff there other than the cook. Man I love and hate this place. It's so much fun but also so frustrating. I had some friends drive all the way up from Portland to have a good time and we got kicked out at 9 PM because a friend of mine didn't finish his beer before ordering the next round for the table. We weren't causing any problems, just having a good time catching up at our table and we're all kicked out because that friend didn't finish his beer and tried to buy the table a round. Disgusting. Unprofessional. Intimidating. Dirty. My 4 coworkers and I were bar hopping. I googled "loud bars near me" this came up. Some of the reviews read "obnoxious." We chose this because we wanted 1) loud music and 2) one of the members in our party was a 6/10 intoxicated and she's got a very high voice. We arrived. The bouncer patted down the 2 men in our party. I watched him check my friends ID (the intoxicated one) and let her in. I then went to the bar with her, where she was served a drink. This entire time, I witnessed maybe 6-7 people without masks, walking around, which is against the states mask mandate. This bar smells like an old sleeping bag that's been in a garage for 5 years. Mildew and mold. The bathrooms are worse. The booths are falling apart. This is absolutely, 100% a dingy, dirty dive. We sat in a booth near the door. The reviews of this place were correct. The music is loud. The jukebox plays only rock and country. I chose Shania Twain. My friend and another coworker got up and danced around. They stayed in our area, did not act inappropriately and were overall, just two gals having a great Friday night. I went to the bathroom and came out. My intoxicated friend expressed she wanted water. We went to the bar. The bartender said we could help ourselves to the water at the end of the bar. So we did. Not even 5 minutes later, a man came up behind me and startled me by shouting into my ear "YOUR FRIEND NEEDS TO GO." I wasn't even tipsy, but it took a second to understand the situation. I said "I'm sorry, what?" He goes "your friend is visibly intoxicated, she has to go." I was speechless. She was in the booth at this point. So I said "why? She isn't doing anything..." he goes "either I can handle her or you can make her leave." I told him "I'm not making my drunk friend leave by herself in the dark, she's not causing a scene or creating a disturbance. What's your name?" He told me his name is as Brayden/Brandon/whatever and then said "leave a 1 star or 5 star review, I really don't care". A few of my coworkers and I then left while the others chased out. When I went outside, he went out as well and proceeded to loudly discuss my friend with the bouncer (the same one who let her in). They both stared at me, so I told them I was waiting for my friends. I continued to ask why they allow people to not wear masks, which could lead to immense fines from OSHA but kick out my friend, who although was drunk, did not cause any sort of nuisance or scene. His response was "I'm not a mask nazi lady. You can fucking go." h yes, I was waiting for when this man would finally use curse words to assert his dominance and masculinity! What a man! I will 110% never come back to this bar and I'll let every single person I know that if you dare show up somewhat intoxicated, you'll be kicked out. Thankfully, I live in Portland, where the bouncers let people have fun. I've seen people rail cocaine on a table and not be kicked out. But god forbid you dance to Shania Twain! Used to have a good rep but ***there have been new bouncers who are absolutely horrible*** I recently tried to go into six shooter (which is a bar that my friends and family go to in this area). I have been before, the owner has served me drinks and I have pictures of myself in this establishment and had no problem until NOW. Moving back to this area I decided to go and I get denied due to a bouncer accusing me of someone who has "came into the bar in the past with another ID". There is absolutely no proof of any instance. They never let me talk to the owner or anything. I am caught off guard and APPALLED. This is not the only time the bouncers have accused and had wrong judgements about people. A friend of mine was asked to show multiple social media posts showing his birthdays to be let in, and when he walked in, the bouncers both laughed and didn't even apologize. SOOO unprofessional. I understand the seriousness of underage drinking and valid IDs. I don't understand bars and BOUNCERS who think they are above a person who comes in with correct identification. I mean mr bouncer, cmon, u prob work minimum wage or $20/hr at the most. This is no Miami night club. This is not a TSA check in at an airport. This is Vancouver fucking Washington. It's not even the owner who is making these decisions either. It is the bouncers who stand outside and judge a person, I don't know if their intentions are discriminatory or what but this is so unreal. Third, the Southern flair of the food (not deep South, but still) is a nice change from most menus anywhere close. This place was really cool; until the bartender spilled a beer (on me) and I picked it up for him before it spilled all the way out. He set it down crooked on the mat and it accidentally spilled. When we told him, mostly to just let him know and ask for napkins, He replied with "Fuck you, I own this bar," ( saying he didn't spill the beer) and then proceeded to blame me for spilling it while passing it to the next customer. I loved this place. It's somewhat dim, red lighting, dark wood on walls and ceilings, booths, pool tables and pinball. It has sort of a 1970s retro feel. Personally, I loved the music playing. Might be one of my favorite things about the place. A lot of classic country, some rock. I had no problem with the bartender who served me a Six Shooter burger and a beer. I went on a weekday about 8 pm and it was not too crazy of a crowd. So I can't say what a weekend crowd might be like. Whether you like this place or not, it probably depends upon what you're looking for. But I thought it was one of the coolest bars in downtown Vancouver. read more
