This restaurant is more like a deli. They carry many packaged items that are unique in this area. Only has 3 small tables, so it is likely that customers are taking out I had a falafel wrap. It was good, but Iwould rmuch rather have iit made in a pocket pita. The yogurt drink was very tasty. Small restaurant that makes excellent mid eastern food. Clearly the owners/chef take great pride in their food. We had a beautiful combo plate of chicken schwarma piled high on rice with freshly grilled onions and red and green peppers as well as a plum tomato. We also had generous portions of hummus and tabouli that came with our meal. More than enough for the 2 of us. We finished up with a yummy piece of baklava. We were on our way driving between the Hudson Valley and Chicago and we are glad found this local gem. read more

This mostly family run business is incredible!! Definitely one of those hidden gems. I wish we lived closer. The lentil soup is amazing with a little spice kick, the hummus is one of the best I've ever had, another favorite top thing I've tried is the artichoke salad especially if you like garlic! The food was incredible, we had fattoush, kibbeh balls, lamb shawarma, shish taouk, lamb kebab, tabbouleh, and hummus. it was all so wonderful but my favorite was the kibbeh. i'm lebanese so i'm picky with my kibbeh but Rita and her mom nailed it. Been coming to this place for over 10 years. 6 years ago the owner sold the restaurant dive to family members. It has NOT changed! Gyros and the chicken shuwarmas are amazing! They told us about their Lentil soup home made in house- UFFFFG wish I can order a 55 gallon drum--soooo good and is a mom and pop store in Stroudburg, PA. Come and support trust me. Truly incredible falafel, hummus, and moujadara, with super friendly service. To be honest, it's hard to find good restaurants in Stroudsburg, and I consider Cedars one of the best, if not the best place in town. Ive eaten here probably 6/7 times and it's never what it should be, really good. The flavors just aren't on point, for example...tonight's falafel platter...hummus was tasteless, beet salad was not made today, salad was a bit wilted, falafels were very good though, they're proportions are off too. One little cup of tahini for six falafels, and one pita. The woman at that counter is super sweet though, but I should have just got the falafel wrap...I paid $17 bucks for that so so platter...bummer read more

omg this place ... the food is divine. heavenly. it's a hole in the wall that you 100% are missing essential life experience if you don't eat here at least once. we seriously discussed driving the 6 hours it took us to get there to come back to visit again. every single dish we ordered, we took one bite and had to stop because of the spectacular explosion of perfectly balanced flavors. this is a family run operation through and through, and they cut NO corners. we had a long discussion with the proprietress about the essentials of high quality olive oil, and how using something that isn't the tip top ruins the whole dish. that's clearly how they treat every single ingredient that goes through their kitchen. even the lettuce was sweet and super fresh. all homemade, old family recipes, no compromises made. grandma was in the back making sure everything came out to perfection. read more

While Cedars has limited tables for seating, most people were taking their food to go and I appreciated seeing how they interact with their local customers who seem regular since I am from out of town! I love Mediterranean food and this did not disappoint. I got the lamb shawarma combo with baba gannouj and hummus, it came with pita and the rice was so flavorful! I had the falafel combo, which comes with six falafel balls, tahini, pita, and a green salad with banana peppers; you also get to choose two sides. I opted for hummus and babaganoush that were both excellent; other options were eggplant salad, tabbouleh, and a three bean salad. I ordered a separate side of tabbouleh and this was the one thing I didn't enjoy very much. It didn't have any bulgur and was very lemon heavy. My family and I ate at this hidden gem tonight and were blown away not only by the quality of the food but also the excellent service. When you first walk in, you may be surprised to find that it's very small, only two or three little tables, and the dining area doubles as a Lebanese grocery market. The place is family owned and it shows in how very friendly, kind and accommodating everyone is. It feels more like you're eating in someone's home how sweet and personable each staff member is. Every bite of food (and we got A LOT of things) was mind blowingly delicious, each dish even better than the last -- and the prices are amazingly low for how fresh and generous the portions are. Pro tip: DO NOT MISS THE BABA GHANOUSH!! Best falafel I've ever had, she recommended the hummus and she was right, eggplant salad smoky and interesting, tabouleh had unexpected taste but delightful, yummy pickles with the salad, excellent warm pita, and threw in some homemade fried pita chips to try. This should be in the #1 spot on Yelp as it has the same rating but twice the amount of reviews as the place that is currently rated #1. On our first visit, we had the red lentil soup with homemade pita chips (which was excellent) along with lamb shawarma and falafel in homemade pita bread. When you order the soup together with your pita you get a reduced price for both! The lamb was excellent and so much that I couldn't finish it. On our second visit we ordered more the red lentil soup along with lamb souvlaki which was extremely tender and without any fat. On the side we had their Moujadara and stuffed grape leaves. I have to say the best pitas and gyros we have ever experienced! To top it off we took some baklava to go which was also to die for! The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Stroudsburg. Highly recommended! read more
