    Taphouse Burger

If you're like me and stuck in vacation purgatory, tired of being ripped off for lousy resort food, and craving a quintessential gastropub, then look no further! Walked in at 6 pm, was immediately greeted and seated, and had an ice cold beer in less than 5 minutes. It wasn't incredibly busy, but it wasn't slow either. Our server, Nico was outstanding and never missed a step. I even saw him pour my 2nd beer when the bartender was busy rather than wait for her. Cheeseburgers were on special so that's what I had. It was fairly big and cooked right, couldn't really ask for more. The beer list was fairly deep and included a few local options; which is a must in this day and age. At the time of writing, they use untapped so you can see what they have available before you even go.

The food takes too looong. The service is good but we haven't ordered much and it still took very long.Don't come here. Food was burnt clearly showing it was forgotten - zero stars if I could

First let me say, cute atmosphere and nice servers. However, I never return food but had to send back my burger it was raw inside. Not even rare but raw. Sent it back, server was nice about it came back out about five mins later and it was obvious it was just placed under the salamander because yes the outside was better but guess what still raw inside. If it had any structure and push back I would give them a pass but it didn't. Hubs ordered pork belly sandwich, it was two half slices of thick cut with regular bacon on top. Disappointing would sum it up - I had high hopes. Could be an off day - but I'm not coming back soon to find out - there are way too many options out there that will exceed expectations.

Very good little pub type place. We stopped in when doing some shopping in the area. The food was really good. I had the feta flatbread and side salad. The salad was HUGE with WAY too much lettuce and not much else. My son had the TapHouse burger which he said was really good. My Bf had the hot honey chicken sandwich which was delish as well

Been here a few times. I like the spot. Good food. Good cold beer. Service needs a bit more work. I like how they change their menu's often. Seems like they added more to the menu since my recent visit. Get the wings and flatbread. This time i went with the drunken mussels and they were excellent. Chicken sandwich was so so. Amaretto Bread pudding was really good

Cute little bar with good atmosphere. Seems like a great place to catch a game. The servers were very nice but slow, especially with how empty the bar was. I order the apple cider margarita which had pretty presentation, but was pretty awful tasting unfortunately. I didn't have an opportunity to try the food because the kitchen was already closed, but everyone's food around us looked pretty good and I would say is worth a try.

This is are 3rd time here. I had the hot honey chick. The wife got the stroudsburger we also had Gouda Mac & cheese bites. The cheese bites were awesome! My chicken sandwich was overcooked and are fries were soggy. The chicken sandwich was still tasty. Just wish it was a little bigger and juicy. We still love the place and will be back again for sure.

I visited with a friend and our three little dogs, and we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. It was nice and cozy, with a fireplace heater at our table! We tried the oxtail nachos, pork chop, and gumbo, and everything was delicious. Our server (I can't recall her name) was incredibly sweet and attentive. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in the Poconos!

We haven't been here in quite some time. We really enjoyed the upgraded menu. We spilt a few things to get a better variety. We had the Kung Pao Cauliflower, Harvest Flatbread, & The Lobster Lettuce Wraps. Fantastic!! Still a great bar selection as well. I enjoyed my flight to taste their current beer options.

Drove up to East Stroudsburg for the day with my family. Came across Derailed on Yelp and decided to stop in for lunch. The server was very friendly and they were very busily for a Thursday afternoon. Overall the esthetics of the place were great. They had two large garage doors which were open because it was a great warm spring day. They also had a great looking bar in the middle of the place. We started with the Calamari, which was excellent. The breading was light and it came with banana peppers and Marinara. My dad ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese, unfortunately they didn't get their lobster order (they said they use fresh lobster) and they had sold out already. So he moved to his second choice, the Philly Cheese Steak. He was very pleased with it and loved the Ciabatta role it came on. I had a couple of bites and the sandwich was tasty, but it probably could have used a little more meat on it in my opinion. My Step-mom got the jerk shrimp tacos. She was super happy with them. She particularly loved the salsa that came with it. My wife got the Chicken Coop Salad. She decided to swap the house recommended dressing and went with the Balsamic. She loved the salad. She said it multiple times. She normally picks around the greens and just eats the stuff. She finished the entire thing, which is super rare for her. She raved about this salad. I had the Pastrami Sandwich. I went with it because they indicate that it is house made pastrami. Super happy I did. The sandwich was stacked high with sliced pastrami and came with a good rating cole slaw (typically not a cole slaw fan) and a nice dill havarti cheese. The hand cut fries were awesome! Not only were they a good size, but there were cooked a bit longer than normal and nice and dark. Big fan of these! Great spot for a meal.

I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was incredibly oily and greasy, and the portion of shrimp and scallops was tiny. My friend also got hibachi and felt the same way. My salad was watery, and the clear mushroom soup tasted very strange. I couldn't take more than a bite of either the soup or the salad. For my entree, asked the server if I could please have extra vegetables instead of noodles, and she said that there was a "language barrier" in the kitchen, so she didn't want to ask that. I thought that was an odd comment for her to make. My daughter ordered some sushi rolls and liked them, and my husband and our friend also liked their sushi; so maybe sushi is a better choice here. The place is small and to echo other reviewers, tables are very crammed together and you will bump in to other people just by moving around. The place is cool looking on the inside and outside, definitely an interesting vibe, and they have a full bar. We did have to ask multiple times about the status of our beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My drink was not good, it was a sake/lemon drop hybrid type of thing and it was insanely sweet - I couldn't finish it.

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!
